All right, so despite my previous declaration of my personal boycott of this game, my general disinterest in Jaal, and already having watched enough Let's Play of the game to garner an overall scope of the whole thing, including Jaal's full romance with Sara...I will fully admit that Bioware's effort to make things right concerning M/M romance is super awesome, and I am praising their recent progressive decisions by breaking my boycott and purchasing the game -- and while I'm out and about saving Andromeda, pursue a gay relationship with Jaal. It's also funny, because despite knowing every major plot point going in, I don't really feel all too spoiled. Actually experiencing it is vastly different than just watching it, at least for me. I won't be at all surprised if I warm up to the game very quickly. Anyway! It is downloaded and installed. I have created my Scott and I'm ready to dive in. I must ask you brilliant folks, though...what's the best way to share screen shots here? I save mine to Imgur. Another vote for Imgur here~

Soo if you don't take the initiative and shoot the Kett stomping on Fisher, Liam does. He then apologises for it after the Kett are dead and you get slightly different dialogue response options... I always shot the second they attack Fisher so I missed this the first few times! Haha I'm the opposite, I didn't shoot the first time but after that I always shot first because I realized it makes no difference lol

After testing all the different ways to play out the love scene, one thing bugs me a bit. Unless you refuse sex, Jaal won't call you by name before asking you to take him with you. I feel that should have been left in if you do agree to sex. Felt more personal. There's an actual longing when he says your name, and a hint of fear he might lose you someday, so he needs to hear from you that you will always be with him.

Photobucket for me also because I happened to have an ancient account, but it really has become difficult to use, just the other day my profile pic kept disappearing and I realized it's because PB was malfunctioning. I don't know how other sites compare, but despite its problems I do like to be able to sort pics into folders and copying out links for various coding languages is super easy. Glad to have you in the fold! post pics!!

HAHAA so I seem to have developed an odd new tactic... when I'm stuck behind cover and an enemy throws a grenade at me, I use a power. This then forces me to stand up, which then causes the grenade that's heading my way to bounce off my head and fall onto the front side of said cover. Now I don't have to evac my cover when fighting! Just headbutt the grenades!

I have a confession to make - I have never finished MET Played ME 1 and 2 - both with zero DLC. Never played the third game at all, though ive been present for and actively participated in ME3 forum drama - it coincided with and meshed well with my research project (long story ) Anyway, between forums, reading fanfiction and watching YouTube, it feels as if I have played the entirely of MET, but actually, I haven't. A fact that I sometimes forget. MEA inspired me to give MET another try. Properly this time, with all DLC. And I'm totally naming my femshep Cassandra Shepard, because it is way too appropriate Honestly, right now ME1 feels kind of... empty? And kind of bland? No colorful craziness of ME2, no tragedy of ME3 and no warmth and Whedonesque snark of MEA. Everybody is far too professional and normal

Yeeees I like that look. I'm super curious, I just have to wade through the gazillion Eos and Nexus quests before I get to Aya and then wade through all those quests... argh I know slow burn is popular and all, but I kinda wish we could fast-track Jaalmance for science? I'm a completionist, I cannot resist doing every damn sidequest before continuing with the big stuff. This takes me back to Solasmance where you had to play the entire game before you finally reached Trespasser. Also, I'm so sorry for your and the school's loss. Aww, thanks. Yeah, there are quite a few completionists going through the same angst. But you will all get your purple space cat boyfriend. Enjoy the ride lol. It's TORMENT! *sob* No, it's OK, I'm just way impatient. I NEEEEED JAAAAAL!!! ...and also I keep mixing up my characters and thinking I've already gone somewhere when in fact that's not true. Hey guys just popping in to say damn fine fic and love the pics! I am having a rough time with this forum, so I won't be sticking around much today. It took forever just to get to the log in page! Evfra kept glaring at me and silently demanding to be written again. All of which you know but I feel the need to continue to write exclamation marks!! I get all warm and fuzzy from ME1 because of memories, same with ME2, but ME3 is I think an absolute, eternal favorite. I can see how it would be bland jumping into it right after MEA, though; but... fuzzy feelings. It's an atmospheric attraction.

Normally I'm a hopeless completionist, too. However, I've actually managed to make peace with my decision to turn my very first playthrough into Operation Gimme Dat Purple Stuff, so I've been on a real speedrun, largely ignoring everything that's not required to get into the meat of Jaal's romance. Ooohh boy...my ending is going to be so godawful if I decide to beat the game with this Ryder. :poop: I kinda didn't care for how fast you meet the Angara, gain their trust, and recruit Jaal. I would've rather had to work a bit harder for all of that, but c'est la vie. In all honesty, I am rapidly warming up to Jaal. There are quite a few conversations with him that I didn't know about, and even the ones I had previous watched in the Let's Plays I'm really soaking in now, instead of just listening to them with half an ear. He may not be what I was originally hoping for / expecting, but nonetheless I'm starting to understand the charm about him. As an aside, in my last chat with PeeBee she in her roundabout way confessed her budding interest in Jaal. Am I evil for fanning the flames of her crush on Jaal, only to eventually swoop in and scoop him up all for myself?

In fact ME2 was my first Bioware game ever.

ME3 is just so dang linear and dark, I basically only play that up until I can get into the Citadel DLC, because I love it.

Very quickly I'm learning why folks drool over him; he's proving to be quite the cinnamon bun! (A big, squishy purple one that probably tastes like fish -- I'll find out soon enough!) (as an aside, I hope PeeBee gets really mad)

My first game I made myself do every quest I could before I'd leave a planet (burned me out right quick too), it's gotten to the point now where I just do what suits my mood and then jet off to a different planet. It helps a LOT to break up the monotony. The only planets I've done the vaults/outposts on are Voeld & Eos. I've barely touched the other planets yet - only as much as was required for LM, chasing down the other arks, or the main questline. Now I'll go back and do some of the other quests that are interesting along with the vaults, and then move onto finding Meridian.

Garrus was first, but the new updates for Jaal/Sara has pushed it to first place for me. Didn't think that would be possible.

Unless they're on my way somewhere, I'm ignoring them this time. It keeps me sane. I had the same sort of problem with DAI, with really wanting to clear my log out for each area and then getting totally burnt out on some of the areas, like Hinterlands.

Oh god, I found the gameplay in Mass Effect 1 awful and I played it when it first came out, so it's not like I had a taste of anything better yet. However I did love the story. I also finally fixed my Nvidia Shadowplay, it seems all I had to do was restart my computer to get it working again... and since this is going to be my canon run, I'm trying to get it perfect but I play slow and I'm barely on Havarl. I can understand why some rush to get to the meat of Jaal's romance. I'm already getting thirsty lol.

Crap were you having problems with NVidia too?? I've been wrestling with that heap of junk for the better part of a week now :rage: Hehehe slow gameplay! I'M STILL ON HABITAT 7 BECAUSE REASONS

LOL! Only Ryder is crazy enough to headbutt grenades The best part is that it currently has a 100% success rate! THIS TACTIC IS HERE TO STAY PEOPLE

I'M STILL ON HABITAT 7 BECAUSE REASONSOh yeah, I couldn't take screenshots and had to use fraps. Every time I tried to turn on shadowplay (now called share in settings) in GForce experience, it would turn right back off in front of me. Someone told me to just restart my computer and voila, it works now. So yeah, if you're having the same problem try a restart. Ha, well you got me beat for slow game play! cool, I don't feel like such a turtle now.

XD My problem is that I keep replaying missions over and over to see new stuff, before playing it a final time, locking in my decisions! Like if you bumrush the Kett base on H7 and get to the first checkpoint way before papaRyder, he complements you!

So my helmet always defaults to the starter initiative helmet, but only during the remnant tower cutscenes... I'm guessing this is because the helmets glass visor breaks so its a new object? Either way, it clashes with my armour! ITS A COMPLETE FASHION FAUX PAS :gasp: :smh:

I don't like ME1 that much either tbh (shhh lol) I barely got far and got kinda bored with it...but this was also after I played ME2/3 so idk...I started with ME2. In fact ME2 was my first Bioware game ever. I like the story for ME1, but it's my least favorite of the MET overall. Not enough character interaction for me. ME2 is my favorite to replay. ME3 is just so dang linear and dark, I basically only play that up until I can get into the Citadel DLC, because I love it. ME1 and ME2 had the best endings, though. Their final missions were cinematic, uplifting and badass. I still watch them on YouTube sometimes if I need some cheering up And yes, darkness of ME3 is the reason I never gave it a try
