Jaal Ama Darav (Official Thread)

Normally I'm a hopeless completionist, too. However, I've actually managed to make peace with my decision to turn my very first playthrough into Operation Gimme Dat Purple Stuff, so I've been on a real speedrun, largely ignoring everything that's not required to get into the meat of Jaal's romance. Ooohh boy...my ending is going to be so godawful if I decide to beat the game with this Ryder. :poop:

I kinda didn't care for how fast you meet the Angara, gain their trust, and recruit Jaal. I would've rather had to work a bit harder for all of that, but c'est la vie. In all honesty, I am rapidly warming up to Jaal. There are quite a few conversations with him that I didn't know about, and even the ones I had previous watched in the Let's Plays I'm really soaking in now, instead of just listening to them with half an ear. He may not be what I was originally hoping for / expecting, but nonetheless I'm starting to understand the charm about him.

As an aside, in my last chat with PeeBee she in her roundabout way confessed her budding interest in Jaal. Am I evil for fanning the flames of her crush on Jaal, only to eventually swoop in and scoop him up all for myself?

I really hope that in the sequel if we continue as Ryder she gets the Garrus and Tali treatment and becomes a LI, and especially having an asexual or demisexual romance. 

It doesn't read nearly as much of a romantic crush as they made it sound before release. It reads more like how you describe it where she cares for him in a platonic way. At most it has a Josephine/Rainier feeling where they have a soft spot for each other but have no intention of it going beyond that and actually becoming something. 

Ok, guessing time - what are the neck flaps the angara have for?

My guess is since the rely on solar energy to stay healthy, the flaps increase their surface area allowing them to capture more sunlight. 

Oh yeah, I couldn't take screenshots and had to use fraps. Every time I tried to turn on shadowplay (now called share in settings) in GForce experience, it would turn right back off in front of me. Someone told me to just restart my computer and voila, it works now. So yeah, if you're having the same problem try a restart.

hmm maybe they're sensitive to all kinds of touching? My Ryder does have the urge to scratch them a bit.
