I don't know if you guys have been able to guess or not, but I'm a pretty huge Game of Thrones fan. Now as far as romance goes, Game of Thrones is fairly limited. But when there is romance, hot dayum is it good. To me anyways. Case in point, ma queen Dany and Khal Drogo. The whole "My Sun and Stars" and "Moon of My Life" stuff got me in the feels. The shifting power dynamic, the fact that a male character is fridged this time around to propel the female character's hero journey. I think their relationship had a lot going for it. Back to Jaal. I'd love it if he had a name for Ryder, that similar to Drogo and the Dothraki, was related to angara culture. A romantic nickname or association with something from his culture that is reflective of his love for Ryder. I could be wrong, and Jaal be a tragic romance, or one that leaves us hurting like Jacob or Solas. But if there is any candidate for the epic, swoooning romance I'm hoping for, I think Jaal could be it  I'd rather not have to suffer through (and enjoy, but still) another tragic romance. But I am ALL for a nickname. Like how Thane called Shep Siha. |

Yes, something so simple as giving your love a nickname with meaning and significance can work wonders. I'd probably cry every time they'd say it though, cause I'm a sop like that  |

Me too, I think I'm going to keep Sara for my Ryder, but for romance I'd actually prefer it if her LI use a nickname instead of her name. I like a lot siha and vehnan |

but what if "do not ingest" tier issues? human-turian and human-quarian is bad enough with the chirality thing, who knows, species which evolved in entire separate galaxies probably can't even like, hold hands without bursting into flames and four kittens dying Why can't we have a pleasant side effect....like what if Jaal's skin tastes like cotton candy? |

Yes, we must be careful... although this can lead to a good point, will bioware really take steps to make diverse races with characteristics unlike any other organic being? Does bioware plan to ever make an alien species where if humans came into contact with their breath or skin would get sick? It would be interesting to see if the Angaran's have any distinct characteristics that would make it dangerous for some races to interact with them. |

I was just thinking again about Jaal and how they might position him as vital to us so we have ample reason to recruit him. It could just be because we need a guide of sorts for this galaxy or that it helps us cement diplomatic relations with the Angara, but I wonder if his knowledge may be more specific. Like, what if he knows things about Archon and his games? Heck, what if he fought him? That'd be an interesting story for that scar of his!
Absolutely pure speculation, of course, but it's fun to think about!

Since the Angaran are apparently bang-able, it's probably a pretty safe bet that they wouldn't wreak havoc on the human system. Another race? Again, that would be interesting. Didn't coming in contact with Thane's skin for more than 5 minutes give you a rash? And licking him got you high? I'm honestly surprised with how excited I become by the day to romance Jaal, I'm not kidding. I was super hoping there would be a male Quarian romance, but with that looking less and less likely (sucks, but meh), I'm starting to really love the idea of Jaal. :3 Yep, same boat. I STILL want a quairan boyfriend. I mean they're just so cute. I know, I know... stupid reason. But I get very motherly I guess? towards my characters and their love interests. They're all just... so cute LOL I love them all. I want to protect them. And gush over them. Yes even you Kal'Reeger, you're a cutie! Jaal I think you're cute, too. You're trying to be very noble-looking and clever and princely, and all those things are great, but... cute. You're cute! |

I want to romance Jaal as much as everyone but I also can't really imagine it happening? I'm pretty sure he'll be a romance option of course, but how would it even come to that? Would it be like a enemies to lovers thing? Friends to lovers? They just know nothing about each other, they're from completely separate galaxies?? I'm afraid romancing Jaal will be an option we get very far into the game which.. I don't know if I can wait tbh Unless there's a lot of tension and then everything just sort of happens all at once, but Jaal doesn't seem like the type for that... then again we know nothing about him so (okay but imagine Jaal being jealous tho) Well, I'm anticipating curiosity between them both right off. We will probably get flirt lines related to his culture and his appearance. He might smile a little and reciprocate very carefully. At some point he might finally approach us and say he's noticed that we... seem... interested. And he confesses he's not... against the idea. Ahem. Perhaps something along those lines? |

Don't tempt me to draw Jaal covered in tats I swear to god I don't have enough time in the day! *works 9-8* *sobs* My 7 year old neice loves Mass effect (Well the character design and the little bit of the plot I allow her to see that's not too bad / not kid friendly). Maybe I'll get her to draw something of Jaal. It's typical 7 year old art but it can be hilarious. I remember I got her to draw Krem from Dragon Age and she drew him standing on a chair hahaha Okay now I kind of want to commission her! |
