Jaal Ama Darav (Official Thread)

I personally adore the idea that we can completely screw up any relationship with Jaal depending on how we handle the big Angara-related drama that we all know will happen eventually. Because that's a real consequence that makes sense and makes the whole thing feel more immersive! I get the feeling out of all the romances, Jaal's will be the one we can make the wrong choice about and ruin the most. Since, you know, the inevitable tension of native Andromedans vs newcomer Milky Way folks and the supposed choices with consequences that we'll have.

As for Jaal being a spy, I keep fluctuating between whether he'd keep that a secret or whether he'd just be outright with it a la Iron Bull. Because come on, anyone with common sense would know that someone of a new race joining their team would probably keeping an eye on them to some degree. So if he's there to "spy", he might not bother keeping it a secret and just straight up tell us that he's reporting our conduct back to his people. After all, our Pathfinder team doesn't seem like it's supposed to be there to be all sneaky and classified. We're meant to be there to explore and find a peaceful home, so him tagging along to confirm our intentions shouldn't be a huge issue.

I am also okay with this.

I mean, I would prefer a happy, sweet, fluffy ending with Jaal, something akin to Cullen (or at the very least, as fluffy as Shakarian), buuuuttt.... I do adore my Solavellan. 

So... well. Jaal will definitely be my first as long as I can get 'em with Sara. Otherwise... on to Vetra and/or Liam.

The more I look at him the more I see... a purple space rabbit... What with the 'ears' and the big eyes and the powerful legs that look like they could jump high. If that is in fact an inspiration... I wonder what it means for their libido...

Ya know... Cullen was a pretty heavy one too now that I think about it. He is suffering from PTSD and has an addiction he is trying to crack. If we make him continue his addiction, we lose everything. If we don't, he gets violent, wants to leave and has a breakdown. He nearly loses his love in the Fade and then cries and prays for her to return before the final fight. I shed more tears there than with Solas tbh. This guy was the Prince Charming of DA and we got more than just his looks!

Yeah we know he is not like Solas. The leak said that. Now that I think about it, I am getting a Cullen vibe from him. Both look like Princes, are veterans, have scars from their past and (apparently) a romance that is happy and sad. So maybe the lyrium choice will be a choice regarding the Angara or a choice like the Chargers and the Qunari. Giving Cullen lyrium ends the relationship and kills him later on, and killing the Chargers makes Bull turn on you and you have to kill him. 

Maybe you have to choose to save his people or side with your family. If you choose your family, he loses everything, stays with you but is broken. If you choose his people, you loose your family's trust and have to deal with it later.

Good lord if Jaal was akin to some kind of combo of Garrus and Cullen...I can almost hear the excited shrieking in the distance. Two of the most loudly adored characters and romances in BioWare history!

Has anyone tweeted Nyasha Hatendi (Jaal's VA) yet? When I check his twitter surprisingly I saw no tweets related to Jaal.

IMDB is still showing him. Someone needs to correct that if it's not true.

Who knows! I would imagine though that they write his story first then decide later who can romance him. Though how they decide that is beyond me. 

I just know a lot of people would not be happy, so I hope that's not the case. I think Cortrez really turned people off with his mourning his husband all the time. Kaidan though, that was something!

@massbass Kallo's actor is on that site too, and she also follows him. I have no idea how IMDb got the info first.
