Haha, I don’t blame you. Exaltation would be truly awful. If the Kett tried to do that to Jaal, Sakura Ryder would unleash biotic fury. Just wondering, who is Jill? A character in Andromeda? Think I have seen the name somewhere... I agree, long live Jaal! She's the worst character in the game. She guilt trips the only gay male character (that's romanceable anyway) in the game into fathering her child-by saying he isn't doing his duty as a man if he's not having babies. She's also voiced by a contest winner-which I feel bad that she won a contest and got to voice the most hated character in the game (at least by LGBT friendly players that realize just how messed up that content is). I'm just astounded by 2112 pages of Jaal!

...I agree with you, that is messed up. I hope they don’t screw Gil-mancers over like they did with Jacob-mancers in Mass Effect 3.
Regarding Jill, Sakura Ryder would surely try to talk sense into her, tell her to stop guilt-tripping Gil.
I feel sorry for the contest winner. I would rather have gotten to voice any Angara in the game, even some background nameless one that has only a few lines of dialogue.
Speaking of Angara, I am glad Jaal was made available for male!Ryder, since now each gender has an opportunity to romance Jaal. Means both genders can enjoy the experience!

Jaal was always bi, and their removal of the option wasn't even all that well done as he didn't even have a rejection line ever. I'm glad it was fixed to the way it was always meant to be. dmc1001 Yeah, this thread is really long. I'm glad it's mostly positive around here NOW.

You don't think Ash got a better romance with male Shepard than Kaidan? Fact is, BioWare doesn't seem to know how to pull this off. I'll give them credit for the attempt but not for research. Yes, Jill was terrible. However, given that humanity is nowhere on the verge of extinction, Gil's DUTY as a man (or human being) is to help in the fight against the kett. If Gil and his future partner (be it Ryder or someone else) decide to eventually have a child, that's their business not hers.

I think it was passed because that is a controversial issue in real life when discussing hypothetical space colonization, the issue being would LGBT+ people be forced to help in reproduction or be barred from applying to be a part of space colonization, so they wanted to address that in their game about space colonization. I agree they did a bad job at it and it shouldn't have been part of Gil's character and romance, perhaps instead have some side characters address it in a small conversation or quest or something if they wanted to address that issue, but I think that's why they kept it in. And yeah if they were going to talk about it, it should have been in the sequel after the colonies are established and people are awake so thinking about future generations would be happening where in MEA that is a concern but not an immediate one, though considering we may not get another game in Andromeda maybe they didn't want to risk waiting only for the next game to never come thus they never address that issue.

It's still stupid. Nothing prevents LGBT individuals from having kids. Lesbians in particular I have seen having children where one of the women gave birth to the child. If that's happening now, I have my doubts any of it would be an issue in 160 years from now (not counting that 600 years since they were in stasis). Heck, fanfic writers have even come up with male Shepard and Kaidan having kids that are biologically their own. Honestly, we're probably not far away from it in the present. By that logic, though, the Ryder Twins should be flayed for having romances with Jaal, Vetra or Avela. None of those races would lead to reproducing with humans. (Asari would be okay because it doesn't matter the species of the "father".)

(Asari would be okay because it doesn't matter the species of the "father".) Oh, I agree with you. I'm not agreeing with that, just it is something that is discussed in these hypothetical situations due to factors like the limited number of seats on the ships. These discussions also discuss things like whether people who either have or are carriers of certain genetic disorders should be allowed to participate. Thus why Bioware may have wanted to address that issue in their game about space travel and colonization. I'm just trying to think of why Bioware included the Jill storyline and attached it to Gil, and that came to mind. Though between like you said things like in vitro fertilization, how fast genetic manipulation is advancing, as well as the fact that the Hyperion has 100,000 people instead of the numbers usually talked about in those discussions, like 160, then it falls flat on its face.

So I replayed the original trilogy, Dragon Age Origins, and Dragon Age 2. Maybe it's almost time to go back to Andromeda for the 9352538th time. Eh...we'll see. There's been no BioWare like games to drop lately...so the struggle is real.

A question- what Angara related things would you want to see in a future game, book, or comic? More Efvra is always good. I liked him a lot, wish there had been more of him, and interacting with him. Maybe even romancing him. Jaal is quite cuddly, I would have preferred more Grr. Additionally, I didn't receive the impression that Gil was forced or guilt tripped into anything. But maybe you see more of the situation on a the romance path, which I will never do, because I would hate to be forced into being a parent.

If I recall correctly, you aren't forced into becoming a parent in Gil's romance but can choose whether you want to be or not. I like drama, but that's not the sort of drama I'm into. I recall also being told that Male Ryder can tell Gill he has no interest in being parent. I don't know how it's phrased, but it sounds an awful lot like, "Pick me or pick having kids". Which Gil should obviously react badly to such an ultimatum. I guess I'll go find it on Youtube. Edit Add: Well, that actually went pretty well. Gil presents it as a kinda crazy idea, and then says he could go either way. Kinda like Liam saying he was okay with it being a one night stand or turning it into something more.

Jill saying Gil is making her job harder by being gay is very offensive to many people-not just gay men but anyone who doesn't want or can't have kids. If you don't understand that-so be it. However, it is a legitimate issue.
I wish the Gil's romance would have been given half as much love as the Jaal one was. As it stands Jaal's romance is the only viable option for me personally. Reyes was close though, but it just doesn't feel like a full romance.

I didn't watch the video but I did look at the title. I always headcanon that FutureTech has a way of allowing two men or two women to have children that are both biologically the parents. Some kind of genetic manipulation to combine their genes and, bam, a child is born! You can do this in TS4 so I figure why not in the future? Hence, Gil and Scott wouldn't need Jill's eggs to have children. Anyway, that's my story for Kaidan and Shep so no reason it can't be the case of Scott and Gil.

In the world of a game where Miranda was created with her dad modifying one of his y chromosomes to make a clone female (god that makes no sense to me-two x's would have made more sense to me...but whatever...I don't really care) I think anything is pretty much possible.

Agreed. They need to be more careful in the next game.
More Efvra is always good. I liked him a lot, wish there had been more of him, and interacting with him. Maybe even romancing him. Jaal is quite cuddly, I would have preferred more Grr. Jaal and Evfra appear to be among the most popular Angara in fanfic.
Hmmm...that might be the case. I need to fully finish Gil's arc. Doing a Jaal romance though.
