Like I said, it's all speculation and I could be horribly wrong, but the theme of the game doesn't connect with what people feared. We'll see in a month I guess.

I'm the same way, and I'm trying to be very good about staying in this thread and the Twitter one. Do what you need to, the forums aren't nearly as important as your mental well being. ^^

I'm thankful this thread is more calm in comparison, hopefully when debates of Jaal's character start happening it will stay like the Solas thread and not become page upon page of "I wanna kill him!" like the Cole thread.



I'm into both ladies and men so I was never worried but yeah that was honestly bullshit. If you were a straight lady you better be into aliens or you were screwed.


Also I'd enjoy a spoilery Jaal post myself but yeah, it's possible he doesn't even appear in the Early Access. I think a lot of people wouldn't like them to even be posted in here though, so maybe it would be better to create a new spoiler marked one for it?

My own theory is that Jaal could be in an arranged marriage with an already prestigious Angaran lady. Perhaps he becomes torn between duty and love. Should he stay loyal to his people or follow his heart. I think that could add some interesting conflict.

What if it's taboo to have a mate in Angaran culture if you're like, idk, in the military or something, until some point. Maybe it's not just Ryder being human, like Jaal maybe risks losing his position in the (probably royal) Angaran whatever he's in. I don't think this will be the case but I'm just throwing it out there

Well alright, I will probably be totally wrong lol but it's based on how the devs work on Twitter. Liking certain tweets that hint spoilers (caught them doing that enough to know it's legit) that connected with that bug Ian mentioned.

I should I know, given that Mass Effect are my favorite games ever, but I am really fussy and particular about fantasy.

I don't know why, and really looking at what fantasy I love, it doesn't make sense at all. Like for example my two favorite pieces of fantasy fiction are Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. 

And even though I haven't played them in a looong while, I used to be a hardcore Elder Scrolls gamer, having taken a liking to the series with Morrowind, absolutely fell in mad love with The Shivering Isles, and clocked in over 1000 hours on Skyrim 

It might be disagreeable to some, but the "fantasy" in Game of Thrones and TES has set the bar high for me if that makes sense? I'm not sure I'd like Dragon Age. 

When I eventually stop playing Mass Effect: Andromeda, and there are no imminent games on the horizon thereafter I'm hyped for, I'll give Dragon Age a whirl 

Haha I understand this completely. I'm the exact same way except with sci-fi. My dad was in a sci-fi club growing up(back when that was super duper nerdy) and had a whole collection I grew up reading. So now I find myself pretty snobbish about sci-fi...
Even if when I think about it, I never even read a lot of his collection.

I only played Mass Effect because I got a copy of Mass Effect 2 for free with my DA2 pre order. I have actually still never played Mass Effect 1... haha. I didn't even play ME2 until right before ME3 was released also. I already find Andromeda a lot more interesting than the original ME trilogy though. Missing out on following it from beginning to end, the way it sort of becomes nostalgic and dear to your heart(Like the Dragon Age series is for me) was a big part of it I think... I'm really hoping Andromeda will make Mass Effect like that for me.

Umm I guess what I mean to say is... a bioware game is still a bioware game and in my eyes makes pretty much any genre entertaining. I played the original Mass Effects expecting to not like them at all (I hate using guns) and ended up enjoying them even if it wasn't enough to play through multiple times like a DA game. ^^

And look at me now, lurking and posting in the forums for it.
