Yeah, I have a sneaking suspicion pops ain't what he seems to be. So racism wouldn't surprise me any. Especially if the 'furthering humanity' thing is more than just a blurb. Wait, was that on his bio? I think it was when they explained he somehow engineered Sam. He was also part of the first to find the Charon Relay, and he has ties connected to TIM. Whaaaaaaaaa --- ?? He does?

Jaal sounds really cool, even if most of this is speculation. I can't wait to learn more about him! I really wonder what his personality will be like... According to some devs and the voice actor for Scott Ryder, he's dapper and a Sir. Basically a gentlemen who is dashing and charming. We'll find out more when we actually hear him talk though lol Listen, I was curious about Solas from the get go and my characters panties hit the floor the first time he spoke. If Jaal somehow bests that we are all in serious trouble. Like, HOLY SH*T my ovaries blew out of me like a shotgun levels of trouble. Can someone photoshop Jaal's face onto this somehow? I feel like it would be used quite regularly on this forum and on twitter.

We are lol we never have fights and we all have fun! We can do a recap too. What we've learned (spoiler tagged for anyone who wants to be surprised): He's a squadmate and has a loyalty mission He's a LI (rumor is it's happy and sad, but that's not confirmed) and the rumor is he's bi, but not it's confirmed. He also has a sex scene His toy and wallpaper the devs gave us show he's a sniper, so possibly an Infiltrator Apparently his voice is amazing (voiced by Nyasha Hatendi)! His writer wrote ME3 Kaidan Jaal sounds really cool, even if most of this is speculation. I can't wait to learn more about him! I really wonder what his personality will be like... HEY!!! I am cool!

Well it's a good thing I'm playing my lady Ryder as someone who hates/resents her dad. Because if I need to shoot him for any given reason I won't be hesitating. Hell I'll paint the bullseye on his back for fun. But that does depend on how he interacts with his kids. If he's the stern, taciturn type who treats his kids as soldiers at all times then all bets are off.

Well, I'm back. Judging from the lack of 20 new pages I'm guessing we didn't get an update Nope, not even a profile. Maybe, if the gameplay video thing is actually happening this week, they're saving hype up for that?

Good morning. I feel better. Just wanted to tell you all how much I adore Jaal Ama Darav (Kierro) 's icon. Everytime I see his/her (why must most of the world use gendered pronouns? We Finns don't and it has worked for us for thousands of years), I get stuck to that look at Scott's eyes when he sees Jaal. That was the moment I knew there must be a GIANT M/M-romance going on. Must be. I can feel it. THAT'S WHAT LOVE AT THE FIRST SIGHT LOOKS LIKE. Yes, I'm a romantic sap.

Whaaaaaaaaa --- ?? He does? They were both part of Shanxi apparently. Interesting. I admit what I know about the MEU is pretty much only from the games, so I'm not sure what TIM's involvement in Shanxi is per se, and of course we know very little about RyDad still. Might it be coincidence? Or is there something I'm missing?

Might it be coincidence? Or is there something I'm missing? "Before founding Cerberus, the Illusive Man was known as Jack Harper, a mercenary and part of a special group under the command of General Williams. During the First Contact War, Harper served on Shanxi, and in the later days of the war, he, Ben Hislop and Eva Coré were responsible for the capture of a turian general named Desolas Arterius. After heading back to General Williams' command compound, they analyze turian troop movement patterns and determined that they were looking for something. Upon interrogating the captured turian, Jack discovered that Desolas was searching for an artifact. After capturing Desolas' forces, Jack questions Desolas further; Desolas merely tells Harper to be careful about what he is looking for, as he might just find it. After leaving Eva in charge of the prisoners, Jack and Ben head into the cave where the artifact is located." Basically we saw how Ash was about aliens because of her grandfather, and we know TIM was all about humanity, and if Alec saw that war, he will not likely accept aliens as easily.

I don't think Cerberus is actually going to be that important, though. If it is, then the devs lied to us.

If we ever get more info on Jaal before the game comes out I'm planning to try my hand at some writing. I've written several fanfics about Dragon Age. (No, I'm not linking them, they're awful.) But I've never tried writing ME. Might have to wait until I get through my first playthrough though. Aw man. If you change your mind about sharing your fanfics, PM me. Some people HAVE written about Jaal, but nothing solid. They are pretty cool though. Have to check livejournal though. Same here Ceoldoren! I love to read fanfics!

If it is, then the devs lied to us. Maybe not Cerberus, but the Harper family itself and their beliefs? I could...actually see this being a thing. In a way, Cerberus could be involved without actually being involved. In that their mentality is present. If the theories that Alec Ryder is very human-focused and possibly racist are correct, then maybe that links him to TIM. Maybe they did know each other, or maybe not. But if Cora is related to TIM, maybe she specifically doesn't hold these views as a contrast to her family, and also presents that sort of ironic contrast to Alec's beliefs. It makes sense that the humans first mentality would have a big part to play in this game. But at the same time, this idea of mine is negated by the fact that Cora is said to be loyal to Alec, which wouldn't make sense in this scenario. And I can't imagine that Cora would have the Cerberus mindset if she spent so much time learning from and with aliens.

Yeah I could see him sending her off to make sure humanity ruled Andromeda, but when she joins Ryder and meets up with everyone, and family/romantic relationships form, she might deter from her father's wishes and stay by Ryder's side. Sort of like Miranda resigning at the end of ME2, but her choice would be to betray her father or the ones she's come to love. I still think we meet Jaal at gunpoint because humans have already started to terrorize the new aliens.

Though that might be controversial?? I mean that Scott in the trailer is kissing Cora, so... but... maybe it's just that I got the impression JAAL liked what he saw, even if Scott didn't. But in fairness, I got the sense Solas was flirting with my Lavellan the first time I played, even though I know he wasn't an option. BUT... then again, he was at one time and it was scrapped. So who knows. With Solas it was the tone of his voice. Could just be the voice actor though... and with Jaal we don't even have a voice yet. But that one scene... yeah.

The Angaran woman kind of talks like this particular group of Angara haven't met a human before. Otherwise why the 'human from another galaxy'? I know some humans came before we did, but they would still count as 'humans from another galaxy'. Why the distinction for Ryder? Then again, this is a trailer line. Who knows what the actual context is or if the line even actually goes like that at that moment.

Who knows what the actual context is or if the line even actually goes like that at that moment? Oh, HMMMMMMMMMMM. You may be on to something here. 1. Is it possible humans we don't know have gotten to Andromeda long before us? Perhaps through some warp in space-time? I mean, this is science fiction. 2. Perhaps they are simply referring to us as "newly arrived" to Andromeda, versus the humans who arrived before us (who were also part of the initiative).
