Do you drop articles? I do it all the time. Then I proof read and be done with it and post, only to notice that most of the "a" and "an" and especially "the" are missing. And then I'm like ah fuck, who cares. I even manage to pass as American without trying, just by accident. There must be something wrong in that. And those pre-positions. No matter if it is English or Swedish, I just don't get them right. Though English is easier for me than Swedish, and I should know Swedish because my ex-husband spoke it daily for me for 7 years.

I...rather don't use gender marker before I'm officially male. Then I will probably tattoo it in my forehead and punch everyone who calls me "Rouva" = Ma'am.

When using English I dance around the gender pronouns with "they" and "one" but I still don't know how English speaking people survive it daily. I heard Spanish is even harder, because so many words bend in masculine or feminine.

They did not dare to make Jaal straight. Not to mention it would be beyond stupid. When it is about aliens...they could have 6 genders. Why should they care what sex our Ryder is? Human is a human. I have hard time to believe that all the aliens out there would have a matching set of genitals with humans. Getting stuck with gender there would be beyond stupid...but that's what we got with Garrus and Thane. I'm still scarred about those two. Almost as badly as about Malavai Quinn and Vector in SWTOR.

I always assumed that Ryder was captured, brought to the leaders at gunpoint and he tried to explain the situation, saying that he's a human from another galaxy and he's a Pathfinder, and then tried to explain what that means and what the AI is about. Then Jaal comes in to meet him, and when he asks just who the hell Scott is, the woman tells him, and that would explain her weird tone. "He's a 'human' from another galaxy. A Pathfinder." She says those words as if they're foreign to her, and almost as if she disapproves or doesn't quite believe him. I'd say it's obvious she's quoting someone. And the way she says pathfinder, idk it almost sounds like she's mocking Scott. 

That still doesn't explain why they don't know what a human or a pathfinder is though, so I don't know. That was just how I imagined the scene would play out, obviously it's just speculation lol

Gendered pronouns do bother me as well, no matter how many years I use English I'm still not used to them. I somewhat always mix them up when writing English and have to check them before posting, otherwise I'd be misgendering everyone all the time. I also feel like I'm being mean without having gender marker on, does make it bit hard to refer someone without. I'm girl though, I just feel bit silly having gender marker on forum, sorry if it has been confusing someone ^^;

And I really like Jaal Ama Darav 's icon as well, best scene in the trailer and I don't have to watch trailer to be reminded of that again All fingers and toes crossed for m/m Jaal romance. 

That's probably more likely. Especially considering how he's on his own, without his squadmates. 

This thread has way too many Finns.  I'm a Finn too. ...että moi vaan! 

I once used singular 'them' in an English essay and the teacher marked it as mistake. I'm still stubbornly using it in my everyday life when there's any doubt because people usually don't mind it. At least there's a one thing that is easier in Finnish.
