Seriously?? I honestly had no idea krogan could reach that age. Asari, too? Both can reach up to more then a millennia, but krogans can reach up to 1400-1800 years, so more then asari. Talking about Krogan and Asari just makes me think of Char and Ereba. How she said she wasn't sure he was permanent bond mate material because as a Krogan he would live a long life. She even went so far as to imply humans would be more ideal since they live closer to about 100. Only for her to lose him a short time later anyway.

Zuko! Maybe, but with that description I doubt it. His personality is pretty much the exact opposite of what I was hoping for from him. Not to mention he is like PeeBee and not wearing attire that matches the lore. Well, in ME3 we learn that prosthetics by this time are only temporary until you get a cloned version of whatever you lost. We hear this in the hospital in banter between an injured Alliance soldier and an asari doctor. Ah, I'd almost forgotten about that! It makes me wonder why Drack hasn't bothered to do this. Maybe the associated cost? I don't know how insurance works in ME lore. I'll give you that about his personality (and armor, lol), though. The way they describe him sounds pretty generic krogan, sort of done to death? But I always felt like the game never went out of its way to really diversify many krogan personalities - they relied too much on differing political perspectives, which gave a false sense of depth to individual background characters. Though, as I said, the character profile was fairly generic. It doesn't say much about the quirks in his personality, so it's possible that Drack might end up being very different after all. Maybe a bit of a warrior-philosopher or something? I have my doubts now that this will be the case, but it'd be pretty cool, even if it's not what I personally hoped for. I agree. I was really hoping they put some unique spin on Drack so he wouldn't just be your generic fight-happy Krogan. But from his bio he sounds like Grunt 2.0, but instead of being super young he's super old. *yawn* I mean, I've always though the idea of a space-grandpa type (which I've been speculating him to be) was pretty fun - but I was definitely hoping he'd be a shaman or historian or philosopher or closet science nerd or something to set him apart. But to be fair the bio doesn't tell us much, so hopefully his personality does have some quirks we'll find out about in the game. I'm guessing the prosthetics thing could be because he got injured when he was (relatively) younger, when he maybe wouldn't have had access to more advanced treatment, or he was too distrustful of the technology. And then he sort of just kept them because it was what he was used to, or because he was too stubborn - or maybe it's a source of pride. Much like Krogan scarring is a badge of honor and considered really attractive, losing your limbs and surviving makes you that much more hardcore.

Back to Jaal, I'm going to say he's a mix of Garrus/Thane for sniping and Kasumi for tech. If he has any sort of biotic, it'll be something like Javik. That tragic couple still gets to me. When Cole tells my Inquisitor about it, even then I still choke up Wait, Cole mentions Char and Ereba? Yep! And the poor Quarian who loses his parents.

Not necessarily. Keep in mind the old 'pure' classes are pretty much history. I think the squad will instead have skill sets that suit their personalities, like the squaddies we had in ME2/3. Cora is a Vanguard, but I think she's going to lean more on her biotics than on close combat. So if anything she's probably the closest thing we'll get to an Adept (unless there's more squadmates). Liam sounds like an Engineer, but even he prefers close melee combat, so that's a bit different. Vetra and Drack are soldiers, but Vetra also has some tech skills so she's kinda like an Infiltrator, but less stealth-based and more tank-y I think. And Drack is a close quarters berserker type. PeeBee is our Sentinel with her tech and biotics, but she's also got that gunslinger stuff, so, in a way she's like a jack of all trades. That leaves Jaal as our long-range guy, since he's the only one with a sniper rifle. Maybe he's using stealth tech and such, something Angara-developed or Remnant based maybe? Could be that tech has biotic-like properties, so he's technically not a biotic but his powers are similar? Something kinda energy/force based... using magnetic fields/electricity and the like? I don't know, just speculating. Having him be remnant-tech based would make the most sense to me, since that'd help to differentiate him from our other squadmates (and other infiltrator types). Also I would think that biotics would be unique to the milky way galaxy.

Could be that too. A long-range version of her (she was more close-range if I recall). I'm sort of leaning more toward techie because I suspect our interest in the Remnant vaults has something to do with why he joins us (from that few second scene in the old trailer with the Angara in what looks like a Vault). But I also think it's possible the Angara might have some inherent ability like Javik and the Protheans did. I'd prefer it if they had something similar to biotics, but unique to Andromedan species. We know nothing about the existence of eezo in the Andromeda galaxy. The Helius-cluster could be so rich in eezo it's the reason for the whole trip, or maybe there is none at all. and I really want to impress Jaal with some flashy space-magic he has never seen before

Okeer and Patriarch were older. Seriously?? I honestly had no idea krogan could reach that age. Asari, too? Well think of turtles. Some can live to be well over 100. If I remember right, there was (is?) a land tortoise that was 184. Ok, ok he's in captivity, but still he's an old boy.

Most likely one of three things. First, the cost but that is unlikely due to his occupation. Second, he isn't allowed one because of being a krogan who is a criminal and the krogan can't do that themselves. Third, he chooses not to because he likes it or something. His quote really puts down any notion of him being a warrior-philosopher or anything really other than a thug. Between that and him being an outright criminal, I want him nowhere near my ship and if I had my way have him in prison or if in charge not even allowed on the Initiative.

We don't know to who he's talking to though. He might be an enemy. As a curiosity, did you feel the same way about Wrex, since they had the same occupation?

To go back to the Garrus comparisons for a minute, I admit that when I first saw Jaal I thought "Hmm, he looks like a moulting Garrus..." (you know, like when insects shed their exoskeleton and get all squishy and swollen for a while ). It even disappointed me a bit since I was hoping for a more unique design. But I never thought "Garrus replacement" and I doubt his personality will be similar, why would the devs do that? Actually I expect we'll get different character archetypes than what we had in the original trilogy, cause surely the devs want to explore new grounds as well? (I wouldn't mind some similarities to Javik tho... I loved Javik. A similar voice would be hot great...) Yeah, the Garrus comparison seems rather silly. Because he's got, what - a visor and a sniper rifle? We literally know nothing about his personality. Just seems stupid to judge him now. And if anything the 'dapper sir' stuff and the fact that he's well-dressed (I'm assuming, even among his people) makes me think he's really not going to be like Garrus at all. If anything Liam strikes me as the guy filling the 'badass loyal bro' slot. Actually I've seen comparisons to Jacob instead despite their personalities sounding nothing alike, because of the shallowest of reasons. It's funny because meanwhile I don't hear many people complaining that Drack is just another Wrex/Grunt (okay, I just did, but I'm also reserving judgement on his character until I meet him, and am still optimistic he'll surprise me) though there's little to set him apart yet. People are more like, 'another Krogan! whoo!' What's the difference? The fact that he's not 'replacing' a romanceable character? And yeah, I love Javik, and if anything I'm getting Javik: the not-so-mean version vibes from him. Which, I loved Javik, so I don't mind at all! I just don't get why people feel the need to label a character as the new *insert name of old character here.* Has Bioware ever introduced a new character who was nearly identical to an old one? I really can't think of any.

I think I said this before, but I wouldn't be surprised if Jaal was our introduction to the Andromeda version of Biotics. Which I think there must be, because I can't imagine future games within the Andromeda galaxy having only the Milky Way squadmates have biotic-like abilities. I wonder what color they'd be! Normal is blue, Javik's were green. Sparkly purple space magic?

Also, he did finally make it into a trailer but it was the very last one released if I remember right.

Well Solas was a...special case. I doubt Jaal is similar. They're likely holding out because he's the only new entity on our squad, so his stuff is much more spoilery and exciting than the others. I'll hope that we see his bio next week! If he makes an appearance in the gameplay vid tomorrow, I'd say that would further solidify it since that would finally be real confirmation of him being a squadmate.

The teaser mention it's a new series of videos, so it won't be the briefing one. The weapons one might've been substituted with the Pathfinder team, when they decided to do a gameplay series of videos.
