So I had another thought looking at those screens from the new video. Remember how we saw those Angara from the side in what looked like a Remnant vault in that early trailer? From back before we knew they were Angara? Looking at this screen from today's video again: That definitely looks like Remnant architecture (and later in that video we fight Remnant in a similar environment). And we're fighting the Roekaar here. I wonder if those Angara in that early trailer were Roekaar as well. And it's them in that Vault (seen in a cutscene, much like how we saw Beneziah and Saren plotting behind the scenes in ME1). But why are they doing that? And why are they killing Krogan (if Reyes' theory turns out to be true)? A faction of the Angara not too happy with this new presence in the Milky Way, and now they're going after Remnant tech to give them an edge? Maybe they initially set out to fight the Kett, but the other Angara were hoping for peace, so they broke off? But now they're just hostile to anyone they perceive as a possible threat? Or perhaps they've allied themselves with the Kett instead, and are hunting down that tech for their sake... More and more I'm thinking we visit that city where we meet Jaal as a result of investigating of this Roekaar faction... This actually fits with a few ideas we had earlier remember? We talked about how some of them might be working for The Archon, and I suggested maybe Jaal loses his people in an attack, or we have to attack them? And we meet Jaal because of the Roekaar investigation? Wouldn't it be funny if we actually had a rough idea of the plot? lol |

TBH I'd find that disappointing. If a group of aliens suddenly dropped in from another galaxy and started building a colony on Neptune, I'd be pretty alarmed. Not saying Jaal has to be straight up racist, but I'm hoping he at least starts out viewing the Milky Way races with some suspicion. I'm also hoping he gets over it if we earn his trust, but that feels like it should take some work. Same here. To not hold suspicion toward a bunch of aliens popping in from another galaxy with weapons and the intent to claim territory would be quite foolish, regardless of if those aliens claim they "come in peace". I think it'd be pretty weird if Jaal wasn't guarded at first. He doesn't strike me as the naive optimist type. It would be odd for him not be suspicious, maybe even a bit judgmental, at first, of the other races. But as long as he eventually comes out of it I'm fine with it. I do think it could be really fun to see the old trilogy races through his eyes though! I can just imagine him making these wry observations about their cultures and how they interact with one another. I would love it if Jaal had a really dry sense of humor where he's not being a troll like Javik intentionally was (oh god, that 'joke' he tells Vega with the evil laugh after gets me every time though!  ), but he's helpfully pointing out some of the more absurd qualities of the different races as he meets them. |

But really, I'm not expecting Jaal's main problem to be Milky Way races so I'm not all that worried about it. My theory is that his true problems may lie in any possible attempts to compromise with the Kett, for one reason or other. On a lighter note, what if the companions interact with your pet Pyjak? Imagine Jaal! |

I think it's really easy for people to see it from our side... the "human" side since that's what we are and know. Would probably be beneficial to have some empathy and try to think more in character in a world where aliens exist. Especially an instance where we would be the aliens. I don't think the worst thing Jaal could be is guarded or potentially hostile towards a group of people that even we don't know have the best intentions. Since whether our Ryder does or not doesn't include all the other people coming with us to Andromeda. There's a lot of stuff we don't know about the story, and it could very well change the entire tone of meeting Jaal. I'm sure I'll like him no matter what because there are very few things I can't appreciate in a character. I don't need people to be kissing me on the ass and friendly goody two shoes all the time to be enjoyable and fun characters. I mean this IS fiction, can't say I'm offended by not real characters not being nice all the time. |

Hope you enjoy it here, we're all softies  I'm really hoping he's curious about the other species rather than racist and his comments are more from wanting to know what they're like rather than insulting/offensive. While I'm trying not be too optimistic about him, my hopes are high that he turns out being a generally good character. With flaws ofc but nothing to put me off Thank you for the welcoming! Hanako doesn't like that type of characters. I think for Peebee is her personality bits and her opinion of the MW, but I'm not sure. |

It brings up memories of original trilogy themes, but remains distinct and iconic to Andromeda and the Initiative. I love this piece so much, might have it on a constant loop for a bit |

It's always nice to see a confirmation though anyway  Knight is good, just not too knight. And while many will probably disagree I think having some more heavy relationship with Jaal would be better than fluffy. I love fluffy it's just I can't really imagine him like that (no, you don't need to bring in cat Jaal fanart to prove me wrong ). The situation between him and the protagonist seems too complicated to be like that, in my opinion. But we'll see what the devs think while the game is finally out *sips tea* And once again, nice being here! |
