Hmm, Angaran physiology doesn't look like it's quite built for being aquatic. I can't imagine their overall body proportions and legs and feet of that shape being much of a boon while swimming. I think they're just tentacle heads because it's a classic alien-y thing.

So how many dongs do you people think Jaal has? 0, it's just a crab claw orrrr a weird modified tentacle ending in a spoon shape, like squid If he's snake-like he probably has a forked penis.

I think they're just tentacle heads because it's a classic alien-y thing. I was talking about this a few posts back. It seems they portray a mix of all 6 of the basic animal groups merged together. The more I look at them the more "all over the place" they truly seem to be.

@ladyconsular I know, a lot of people disliked Belsavis and Balmorra, but I've liked both of them. My dislike was reserved for Hoth, Tattoine and Alderaan. Hoth and Tattoine because of landscape, Alderaan - because of its people...
And, yes, I agree that Angaran is basically made in the same mold that mythological creatures were cast. Take a part of this & a part of that, and see what happens... We don't see much fauna in BioWARE games, so I doubt we'll see it on Angaran home world either, unless there is a quaint historical reference to the beasts of burden or gambling that involved animals, or pets...

I don't know if it was my server, but it just glitched a lot. Half the time Zenith was kissing the ground and couldn't even stand back up after a battle, it crashed when I entered the tomb and I got trapped behind a wall lol and omg Tatooine and Hoth are the bane of SWTOR for me! I hope MEA isn't too vast like those 2 planets or I'm spending my whole time in the Nomad if that's the case. I'm beginning to wonder if they are actual aliens or some sort of experiment. I guess such creatures could exist naturally, but there's something off about them that I can't put my finger on.

I guess such creatures could exist naturally, but there's something off about them that I can't put my finger on. It could be because they are out of context of their natural habitat, and they look more anime when referenced to the Council races and humans. The humans as a whole are starting to look more realistic, while the aliens - more anime. Thane did not look 'real' either, but he was a very slim human with distinctively lizard features, and movement patterns that did remind of the fast reptilian. Cathars are in the same way consistent with feline streak, but Angarans are a pretty patchwork. Maybe... I am not sure. Overall I like bioWARE's art more than openly anime-styled games, but I would preferred them to probably take a leap and a beating, and go closer to Cathars in that they are faithful to the animal prototype. I dunno, I want to see how they will look in the landscape in the game, and if they have a society structure that is unique to Andromeda, and the relationship with kett and the Remnants... etc, etc. Lagging on Belsavis was very common, but it was not because of the world, they could fix it and break it at will. I've been to Belsavis during lag, and yes, it is not terribly fun. Varactyls though, mmgh. I miss my varactyl and my pet thranta!

I was always annoyed when people thought Thane was a fish-type lol Hmmm... good point! If you look closely at the Angaran body, though the legs have that same design as Turians and Quarians, they are thicker and more mammal like. When that one Angaran approaches Scott cautiously, the way he extended his leg and then pulled it back reminded me of a large feline's back legs. I can see the Cathar resemblance, minus fur. To me I see a fur-less cat-like creature with possible fish or reptile scales and a narrow bird-like face. Ah that makes sense. Only planet where I had issues too.

I haven't played any of these games you guys keep talking about and I'm just here letting the weird names whizz past me like. This is fine.
Haha ok time for a game. Pick one trope you think will embody Jaal the most. You only get one!

Nah, Angaran are a race of ovipositors. Imagine the outrage if they turned out to be spore-formers or something like it. XD Or if they just grow a clone like yeast do. I would be curious to see if Bioware would be able to pull off three genders, could be very interesting if done right! We have had mono- and bigendered species so far, time to take it to the next level  I would like a multi gendered (3 or more) species too. B/v lets face it, for the first two games, every race besides humans was mono gendered...

The nose/eye section of the head has a strong resemblance to cats and the ears/lekku/whatever remind me of cobras. As for the rest... no idea where Bioware borrowed the bodyparts from, but there were certainly no fish involved.

Pick one trope you think will embody Jaal the most. You only get one! Star Wars: The Old Republic! It's another BW we're talking about haha Gotta say I'm just totally weirded out by their design the more I study them lol but I love Jaal's eyes. They are a gorgeous blue! Also when I first saw the Angaran in the old trailer I never would have thought they would look like that! I was really taken back when we saw one up close finally. I literally gasped out loud. The problems with three sexes is that you gotta create a world where this is the way it is. I remember Star Treck had a 3-gendered episode, but it was a short morality tale, and never really did much of background work in terms of the world and the sentient species with this mechanism of reproduction, etc.

Yes I can say it was definitely spicey. Especially if you romance him with a negative approval rating. They changed his VA though and I'll never forgive them.

Idk about the people speculating on the jaal-trap meaning idea but my post about "what does being called jaal mean for the person" was totally facetious. The content was pasted off one of those bullshit name meanings sites (not the "in ancient French Solas means [literal ancient origin/meaning of the name linguistically speaking]" kind but one of those bullshit astrology/numerology kinds like "being called Solas means you have a happy personality and an imbalance in your body fluids"). Lol
