That's what I was thinking it'd be. I wonder if their language will be full of these long vowels. Makes me wonder about how to pronouce their species name. Ahn-gar-ah? Ahng-ah-rah?

For some reason I'm getting a T'Challa vibe for Jaal right now? Like, a warrior-prince thing. Due to to absolutely nothing, but, that'd be fun to play with. (Also I'm just really excited for the Black Panther movie and it's on my brain so.)

The first one I pronounce like mall, but I don't know if it is different because I'm from the UK? We pronounce mall like maul, instead of mah-l. 

So I pronounce Jaw-l like Jaul, and in my head its Jah-l, like how mall is pronounce in America.

EDIT: I could be totally wrong, ignore me   I have no idea how to pronounce the name 

I always had it in my head like Jah instead of Jaw, then the l Like pal, but the a kind of extended. Now I'll have to try and get my head used to jaw-l

You said "mall" and "Jawl" is pronounced the same way if you say it out loud. At least that's how I say it.

Could be a knightly title as well, again, if Angaran are a romanticist space feudalism in a SW/Dune mold.

LMAO! Not me, but I said it for others to enjoy. I would love a romance with a real gentleman I meet in MEA, who can be romantic, sweet and the relationship is meaningful, and where the sex scene is passionate and he is loyal to you. This is BW however so I will probably be dumped after sex 

Maybe I interpret to much into it, but I think he is some kind of bodyguard for the Angaran female in the middle of the group at 1:06. Her different clothing and the way the other Angarans surround her make me think she is their leader (classical "take me to their leader" when you first meet aliens ) or a some sort of representative. When Jaal goes face to face witch Scott in the next scene it feels more like a threat: "one wrong move and you are in trouble". Or maybe I have been watching the trailer at least one too many times .
