But also, I really love interspecies relationship tropes - like what tensions it could bring and how the characters involved navigate them. This too!! I love human/elf relationships as well as human/dwarf (and human/qunari) in Dragon Age. To me this is like one of those. Now I've never romanced an alien before but I'm looking forward to Jaal as well as maybe Vetra and Peebee. Ah, I think one of my fave convos between Merrill and Hwake was when they were discussing having kids. And I like to imagine and elaborate on the parallels between Lavellan and Iron Bull along cultural/racial lines as well. It's always fun to see two people from wildly different backgrounds growing closer despite (or sometimes because of) how different they are. Oh and another aspect that draws me in a bit is that Jaal appears confident and (dare I say) badass, so i think that'd play well off of my Ryder's softer personality. |

*waves* Hello, everyone  Been lurking for a bit and finally had to make an account (I need to join in on the Jaal lovin'). I seriously can't wait to meet this guy, although with so little info I'm worried he may not actually be my cup of tea after all lol Then again, between the stylish coat, piercings(?) and lack of concern for invading personal space, at least he shouldn't be dull Personally hoping he has a wicked sense of humor. ps: sorry my icon is so similar to a few others', but it's not as if we need to see less of that face, eh? |

What attracts me to Jaal? A lot of it's been covered already; he's attractive, looks Garrus-esque (which is a bonus because Garrus ) and tbh I'm dying for an alien m/m romance, so I'm hoping he's going to turn out good. Though mostly it's because of him being a new species. He'll be uncharted territory and along the way we'll get to learn about him and hopefully about Andromeda and the Angarans. But mostly I'm just shallow and too busy dabbing my forehead whenever I look at him because hOT DAMN!  |

If Jaal isn't bi I'll be very disappointed, Scott needs himself an alien bf. Playing for hours with an angle on him just to be turned down doesn't sound fun  Can't decide if I hope there's more info/leaks on romances or not. |

Also relatively new, and a long time lurker on most everything! Jaal got me immediately, too. I wasn't swooning per say, but it was definitely close. That monocle visor is really something. I also like the unknown, and he's striking my fancy something fierce. My husband thinks I'm insane, but finds my love for Garrus highly amusing. He doesn't make fun of me so long as I leave him alone (he's got it bad for Miranda, Jack, and Tali) with his... interests |

For me about getting interested of Jaal, well I'm interested in aliens in ME in general and human-alien relations as well relationships. And Jaal to me looked like well-designed and intriguing alien from the first sight. Somehow I found him quite pretty and even feminine in good way, I was first bit wondering about his gender. Then their race as far as we know seem pretty interesting as well and I really like the nature angle if that comes true.

The way he talks about them (assuming he really does mean the Angara) they sound like some sort of space-eco-hippies. I like that. |

Howdy Jaal! Just wanted to join in an earlier conversation about what attracted everyone to Jaal. I personally found his monocle really funny. The actual hotness of him-took a few more looks to see, but my interest in him was set already from the first look. I haven't been a big fan of the alien romances thus far (mainly cause they haven't been very appealing previously), but Jaal is very handsome. Plus since Liam has been labeled "bromance" I am guessing Jaal is the only team romance for M/M. (lame) I am uncertain if he'll be my first romance, but it looks that way! I am still interested in seeing what the human M/M option will look like though and what both guys personalities will be like. |
