The PS4 Pro can't even run 1080p@60fps on high settings tho...it is such a letdown, IMO.
The PS4 Pro is what the PS4 shoulda been from day one. Not having to update hardware mid-gen. This console gen sucks ass, they released both with really mediocre hardware compared to PCs of the same era, and are now outdated.

I don't know why this is something that's even brought up any more. Plus the GPU upgrade that the PS4 Pro is getting didn't even exist in the PC market until last year. edit: Hell, the PS4 Pro is inferior to the PC I built in October of 2012. But it was over twice the retail price of the Pro, and Sony still has to make a profit, so the actual component cost of the Pro is probably around 5-10% lower than MSRP.

But it was over twice the retail price of the Pro, and Sony still has to make a profit, so the actual component cost of the Pro is probably around 5-10% lower than MSRP. It's obvious, but the performance gap between consoles and top tier PCs in the PS3/360 era was smaller than it was this time. The fact both companies had to come up with upgraded hardware mid-cycle, speaks a lot on how they stuffed already outdated hardware just to keep it under the 400$ target mark. It failed miserably. I have never seen a generation with so many remasters and so few new games. The PS4 and Xone should've been able to run 1080/60, instead, we are seeing even the PS4 Pro shitting itself to run at 1080p/30 with high details. And they are falsely advertising 4k, when most people don't realize it's upscaled 4k. I got a PS4 basically just for Destiny, but this is the worst gen of consoles ever. The fact that both companies basically said "Hey, your 3 yo consoles are outdated equipment that will barely be able to run new games as they were intended, so we are just offering you the option of buying a second updated console at the same full price with no rebate whatsoever!" disgusts me.

Michael Skolnick @sumiketra@tibermoon @masseffect Didn't you say we were going to hear about the Mass Effect Andromeda beta during the month of January? Ian S. Frazier@tibermoon@sumiketra @masseffect I figured the odds were good that you would, but I was wrong. Sorry about that! Like Jon Snow, I know nothing.

Single player trailers were horrible, I really tried to like them, the most I could manage was a condescending smirk throughout. The lack of any multiplayer footage is also concerning. We've seen single player gameplay, we've played ME3 multiplayer, and Bioware has gone on record stating that, improvements aside, it's basically similar in form and function. We don't really need to see multiplayer to know what it's about. This is exactly the kind of attitude they are hoping you will have so that you will buy it even if they put no effort into it. For me, bioware has done enough that I'll buy this game regardless. Now if they screw it up, I'm done and will likely never buy into a bioware product again.

Now if they screw it up, I'm done and will likely never buy into a bioware product again. Same here. While i agree with SalMasRac on the stance requiring the game industry deliver the value with their products for me the entertainment value out of the original Mass Effect trilogy was enough (gotta be the top of the value for money list considering all the thousands of hours i'd sunk into those three games) to justify all my spend on the ME franchise and that's including MEA that i've already preoderd. If there's anything to say in my defense hehe i'm generally not a preorder person so that's moer exception than the rule for me Anyways, now with no intent to play the single player part, based on what has been shown to the, day i'm also getting quite concerned for the AMP. Seeing the latest update from BW, thanks for that Pearl much appreciated, i'm now getting even more pessimistic. Should that that pessimism get justified following release and AMP unable to save the game well for me its gonna be left collecitng virtual dust in my origin game library. Beyond Andromada there's nothing else in BW's current game portfolio that i'd be inclined to spend cash on nowadays and although i may consider in the future buying another ME3 to feed my ME3MP alt addiction i get an inkling that soon enough we are going to be "encouraged" to either move to AMP or else.

They probably haven't created the multiplayer mode yet. The game will probably be delayed until next year. I'll be skipping the single player, I'll play only multiplayer for a few years and then I might decide to try out the single player in four years, if I'm still alive. That's what I've always done for mass effect. It's the worst game ever. So bad, in every way. Don't they have a separate team for multiplayer though? I'm not sure but I recall vaguely to hearing something about this. Though it is very concerning that they haven't released any info at all regarding the mp yet. Last time with me3, they promoted the mp part a lot more I think. Maybe it's not a huge deal to them this time around, a big mistake from their part if that is so.. My instinct is that it is more integrated this time. I can see the single player and multiplayer combat being very much variations on the same model, except with single player you can switch your profiles and with multiplayer you choose your profiled squadmate. For that reason a reveal of one pretty much reveals the other. People will be playing this in 43 days (so pretty much 6 weeks).

That may be true, but remember that what separates the deluxe from the super deluxe edition is the multiplayer packs. Whatever they say won't equate to a trailer or some sort of marketing targeted directly towards the multiplayer. It's basically giving an extra $30 for something you haven't seen or heard of before. Edit: Have they given any kind of official statement on why they have not promoted multiplayer in MEA? ME3's multiplayer was something many enjoyed. I would think at least a trailer to generate some hype would have been released at this point.

At what point does it become worrying that we haven't heard anything about the beta? We're only 6 weeks from launch. Even if it started today, by the time everyone has played it, had a chance to gather their thoughts, offer feeedback and had that feedback collated and considered by the developers there won't be a lot of time to tweak the game. Surely MEA will be going gold pretty soon. There are day 1 patches I suppose, but even those take time to build, and time to get through certification. I'm getting a bit concerned if I'm honest.

The point at which it becomes worrying is roughly around 4 months before the game releases. It's very likely that the multiplayer will be scrapped completely, or the entire game will be delayed until spring 2018. You're right about the beta, it would be way too late to release it now, a mere few weeks away from alleged release date. Doesn't allow anywhere near enough time to gather feedback and to make changes (not that bioware ever listens to feedback or makes positive changes to improve their games). It makes a lot more sense that the game will be released in 2018, without multiplayer.

At this point the only reason to have a beta is for a last-ditch preorder hype effort. It's not going to affect anything.
