I have a SteelSeries Stratus XL and don't know how to get it to work with original ME or if its even possible.
Anyone know about this?

Depends. I think Steam allows for some controllers so possibly if you purchased through them it would work. EA's help site says there's no native support for a controller but suggests checking out NexusMods to see if they have anything.

It worked (I think). It pretty much works with no problem accept a possible(?) problem. I dumped I think 4 points into the Barrier Skill for one of my squad mates and some weird things have been happening surrounding that and I want to know if its because of the nexus mod thing. What happens is that I get a white perimeter around the 4 barrier blocks but it doesn't stay there. Also I have seen it on different squaddies. Is this normal? I invested those points into that char because he was always dying so I wanted to keep him alive longer, but not much has changed really - he still dies like all the time! I just got done talking to Anderson after the first mission so that is where I am in the game.

You should be aware that Kaidan's barrier doesn't protect you; it protects him for the duration it is active. There are some classes of Shepard who can have the barrier skill (Adepts, Vanguards, and Sentinels). Barriers also time out after a few seconds, but do last longer the more points you put into them. One bug that is known to happen on Shepard is if you are using carnage (which is a shotgun skill) with an active barrier... activating carnage will cancel the barrier prematurely. I don't play on PC myself, but I asked my son (who does play on PC) about using a controller. He said he tried it out, but found that he had a problem with using the power wheel and finally just gave up on it. I'm not sure what mod he may have been using though.
