I hate this whole "keeping secrets for the experience" thing. I mean how many people get really excited and happy cause the romance they wanted are just not into their character? Also, if you are going to make specialized relationships for people who find that appealing-then you should make it clear what those option(s) are. Keeping the main storyline and other twists a secret makes sense, but the romance bits shouldn't be left to meh...jump in and see what happens. What bugs me is that often LGBT people are the ones who end up getting screwed by this system. Straight people can always count on there being heterosexual options in a Bioware game with romances, and they can always count on those characters being important to some extent. While, yeah, they can't always count on those being their type, they can count on getting options that are significant. I agree. I mean even the people on BSN seem to think the only option gay males will have as exclusive is a non-squadmate. I mean people got up in arms when my friend suggested Jaal might be a gay option. Quoting half baked leaks and such. Just like people would get up in arms when I suggested (correctly might I add) that Dorian is probably gay. We have a long way to go to be anywhere near equality.

I was genuinely surprised when Tali and Garrus turned out to be LIs in ME2. A pre released list would have ruined the experience. At this point it's impossible to do something similar since everyone expects the squadmates to be available. I rolled my eyes when Dorian was announced as gay ("oh, here comes the pandering..."), but he turned out to be a great character, not just a token romance. L Sera announcement was disappointing because I like elf women (rolled a femquisitor, problem solved), but I liked that even with a Mquisitor you can still be her friend. I really hope that MEA takes the same route with the relationships. They offer more than just the romance or goaway, if you want you can form lasting and great friendships with every potential LI (squad or otherwise) regardless of their orientation.

They don't even have to release all the available LIs. They could have just released two options (m and f) for Scott and Sara (so total of 4), but of course they chose to show only Scott and Cora. It's almost like they are not comfortable showing anything not for straight men, and it's quite frustrating.

It's experience in the game alright to get turned down, but is it positive experience if you wasted whole playthrough, because of that? ^^; Also it kinda sucks that one option for straight male characters is confirmed- Cora is confirmed LI for bro!Ryder, but every not planning to play one is left to uncertainty. Is Vetra bi, lesbian or straight? Is Jaal for both Ryders? There is just lot of guessing and longer it goes more disappointed some will be.

Cora and Scott kiss was pandering too? Ashley/Miranda hooking up with Shepard in ME1/2/3 trailers? However it should be taboo and pandering every time they announce a LGBTQ character? C'mon dude Mainstream media is an eternal pandering for heterosexual people then. Yeah, you could have been surprised when you found out about Tali and Garrus, just imagine when gay male players found out how there weren't m/m romance, even f/f romances were a product for straight male players without lesbian players in mind. You have to understand that you have advantage and privilege on this, because you will never have to worry about of being excluded, and it's a fact that the most important characters have been straight.

Between Cora, Peebee and Vetra there's little to wonder, could almost bet they will go straight/bi/lesbian with them. Male side is worse, only 2 squadmates for all (grandpa Drack sure as hell ain't anywhere in romance category)

Ok, so unless they confirm some more male LIs soon, it remains that the straight male and lesbian players are once again getting the most/and or better options of LIs, with straight women and gay men getting shafted again. And given the leaks about the sex scenes, it would appear even with the potential options for lesbians, its still the straight male gaze that is getting the most out of the romances

As for gay male players, I'll wait and see. It looks like it'll be a step up from ME3 no matter what they do. I'm really happy with what's been teased so far. I was hoping for a male alien and an actually alien-looking female LI for my Scott, and it looks like he'll have both Maybe this will be the first Bioware game where more than one of the romances appeals to me.

Bull was into things lots of women didn't like and can betray you, Blackwall is a liar and murderer and Solas is a traitor.

BDSM 3. depend on an early decision, he turn against his love (but well, despite the romance surprisingly good finally) Dorian: 1. Not my type, 2. Stereotype 3. Skype-cristal, not romance specific (on the other hand, I like his commitment toward his homeland, but still I liked better the friendship with him, the romance was good, but not the best for me.) I really want Cullen – compared to Anders' spirit-problem this little lyrium-shit is really petty... (Solas also not my type, but that the vallaslin-issue was romance dependent, was a bit unfair. Dorian's crystal was not romance specific – as I mentioned.)

Hummmm, let us be fair here. The people that get the shaft in Mass Effect games are gay men but in Dragon Age that is not true at all. People that got the worse options were actually lesbians with only one companion in DA:I, that was there for no reason apparently. Now, straight people overall have a lot more options, romances and always with a lot of content or really important plot points, sure straight female players got a lot less LIs in ME than male gamers but in no way lesbians had more or even close to the same respect. And I am not even gonna to talk about asexuals... I understand the frustration that comes from this and this is why I simple would prefer DA2 approach.

It's not the amount of romances, it's the stories that went with them. Every straight romance I had with a guy ended in drama, drama and more drama! Josie is the best one to have for a fluffy ending, and even Sera is pretty darn cute, but again, not for straight females. That was my issue. Cullen only went fluffy in Trespasser.
I'm hearing rumors a certain MEA romance is going to be dramatic like that and it's like "whhhy?" lol

Well I'm expecting some drama given the nature of Ryder being human and Jaal angara and they are literally galaxy crossed lovers as opposed to star crossed As long as the ending is happy and the drama gets over and done with at the start I'd be fine.

We already talked about it. You're up to date. No worries! Oh Jaal's. Well I'm expecting some drama given the nature of Ryder being human and Jaal angara and they are literally galaxy crossed lovers as opposed to star crossed As long as the ending is happy and the drama gets over and done with at the start I'd be fine. I have a strange feeling Cora will have quite a bit of drama too.
