Nah, that's about as unlikely as a Star Wars sequel/soft reboot featuring a planet-sized doomsday device, surrogate versions of every major character, and parallel versions of every significant event.
though... wait a second...

Every galaxy needs its own doomsday machines hiding in dark space. As long as they don't end up invading the wrong galaxy. Talk about embarrassing.

Its doomsday "stuff" will likely be connected to the Remnants...and that dangerous ,ancient tech will probably be wanted by the Archon so he can keep the galaxy under his thumb. Also Rrrrreaper - Rrrrremnant?? Anyways, when I first read the leaks my first thought was "Remnants are Protheans! Calling it now!" and I am still holding out for a major plot twist related to the MW. If it's not Protheans, Remnants could be an ancient more advanced MW race who achieved intergalactic flight...Inusannon maybe?

Oh Star Wars is not going away Mass Effect on the other hand well its never did well sells wise so yeah it will go away eventually

Oh Star Wars is not going away Mass Effect on the other hand well its never did well sells wise so yeah it will go away eventually First, you are comparing a movie with a game (an RPG at that) which is completely different media. Secondly, there is not much about the Skywalkers that can't be summed up with "Brat with too much power". There is no "soul" in a character that is either: stupid enough to turn evil and slaughter kids and feel bad about it years later or a kid that go out on an adventure with an old guy that look very "reliable" and win a war by "feeling it". The fact that they are willing to invest years and money in a new Mass Effect game tell me more that your "no soul no soul!! Will sell bad." rant that is all you can say apparently. And when did you become a prophet? Can you give me the winning lottery number while you are there and looking in to the future?

Maybe not "Reapers" but I wouldn't be surprised if the Andromedan races have all gone through an alternate version of synthesis which explains why seemingly organic life persists outside of the cycles without either contradicting the lore or Kardashev, Asimov, etc.

In Asimov's universe people eventually get tired of robots, and simply stop making them. This happens around the 32nd Century AD. 20+ millennia later (by the time the Foundation itself is a new Empire) there are still no robots. Except of course ... let's keep this a secret. 'Synthesis' or 'singularity' isn't even hinted at in Asimov. Actually, the earlier Foundation trilogy didn't even feature computers, since the first episodes started appearing in the early '40s. So it's a bit like the Fallout universe, with retro-atomic-futurism.

I think that's a bit of a stretch. At first approximation, for the laws to 'break down' is for a robot to malfunction -- even when they're faced with a difficult decision where they'd need to break one law while trying to observe the other, the Robots short out, and 'die'. In a slightly more extended sense, if by the 'break down' of the laws we understand the manufacturing of robots that don't respect those laws, then the outcome isn't necessarily singularity; it could just be total robot armageddon, as in Terminator's Skynet, or even the Matrix.

I don't profess to be terribly knowledgeable about the works of Asimov but I think it's pretty well understood concept in sci-fi nowadays that a synthetic must violate the laws of robotics for a singularity to occur. It doesn't matter what causes the synthetic to surpass or overrule it's programming controls, the outcome is the same.

I like Tucker from Andromenerd's idea of a race like the Flood from Halo invading Andromeda. Obviously not for this first game, but for a sequel. Frankly, I think that's how they should have treated the Reapers in the original trilogy; not as some unbeatable force, but as a powerful, relentless force that could only be overcome be uniting all (or almost all) of the native inhabitants.
