I hope it is only for promotional reasons. The amount of helmet reflection is just crazy. If I were playing a character in ME:A and looked at that reflection in the helmet... I would be more fascinated by the reflection than the conversation: Game Immersion Broken ...Or is it just a Paintshop Overlay gimmick to up the hype for ME:A all the more?

I don't think it's a reflection. If we assume that various worlds may be dangerous because of heat, cold, or diseases, I would put this down to the 'Fudge toxin' which can make your brains turn to delicious chocolatey goodness... Not sure what Medigel is going to do to that? (Though I understand BioFan knows something about 'Fudge toxin', hmmm?)

The original picture here we can see Ryder's face inside the helmet, but the reason of the reflection that unabled us to see either Liam or Cora's face is because BioWare was kinda... " We are going to show their face soon, don't worry about that... " Just scroll down a little bit.

BioWare isn't good at using Frostbite as proven by DA:I. It looks pretty for pictures but it's not striving for realism becuase it makes everything too shiny and they overdo it with the effects. If it's a promotional gimmick it's because like with DA:I they can't get the face-animations right in time for the trailers and it'll be a last minute addition (and the facial animations will be super unpolished in the final game)

Honestly that 'reflection' looks like papercrafts; like someone cut out pieces from the picture of a desert, and then pasted them on top of the visors.

That's photoshop, I doubt it's a real picture from the game. Take a loot at the characters in the back - where is Ryder's reflection? Why do we see only desert? Also, the picture is hardly distorted to adjust for the helmet shape.
To sum things up - looks completely fake.

It actually looks like someone photoshopped a picture of a brownie onto the visor. It's the same picture in all three visors too. So joke?

It's a reference from Episode 21 of Andromenerds, "Go Fudge Yourself". It's a chocolate fudge brownie. It's Photoshop. It is not gameplay footage. If you look at the "desert", you can clearly see the line where the fudge topping and the cake meet in the middle visor. This is the original (spoilered for size).

Why did I look at this thread! Now I want brownies! Anyways, I hope reflections are in the game, just not like a mirror. I think you should be able to see features underneath, or maybe a light in the helmet to sort of counter it for cutscenes maybe. Sometimes they turn said light on, others not. Food for thought

Wait...did people really not know that the OP's original image was photoshopped and not from any promotional material?

Wait...did people really not know that the OP's original image was photoshopped and not from any promotional material? Apparently not. Don't know how they missed it. I went and checked the original as soon I saw it, because I got confused. After that I just thought people was either playing along or just talked about the original image.

Found the original image. Unfortunately I've got no idea how old this image is or when we first saw it. Used Google to do an image search with the edited image, that gave me this image used in an article on ps3brasil.com last November, but they're hotlinking the image from eurogamer who doesn't use it in their article fo the same name as in the image filename... Anyway, even in that image the visor for Cora and Liam is still clearly editing. Not so sure about Ryder's, doesn't look edited in the same way but I'd agree with anyone claiming it's too opaque and / reflective. Wish I knew when screenshot was from, wonder if male Ryder had been shown yet or not. In any case, there are several images showing this same style of helmets with where the visor is clear and easy to see through. That's what I'd expect in the final game, the helmet design strikes me as one you'd do if you want to put helmets on your characters but still show their faces (which you want for dialogue purposes).

Thank you. I just hope it is not scaling reflections: The farther away it is the more it reflects. Just no. Please no.
