Maybe Dr. Lexi could be like Q from the James Bond films. Instead of wanting to make sure all the equipment comes back in one piece, Dr. Lexi is hopeful that all the squadmates come back none the too worse for wear. A deeply caring doctor for her patients, but stern when it comes to the irresponsible behaviour of some of the squadmates in combat situations which get them into harm. A kind of, Madam Pomfrey type That would be really interesting if she was like Madam Pomfrey, and a good way to set her apart from Dr. Chakwas and Dr. Michel.

I would definitely like to see someone who takes her duties a bit more seriously than Dr. Chakwas. That's right Karin, I see you. Knocking back the Serrice Ice Brandy when we aren't looking

I just hope she has a sense of humor and that we can mess with her. I actually want her to be a little unprofessional, shooting the bull with the patients and quipping with the best of them, but also being a tremendous young, talented doctor. Here's hoping she'll be involved a decent amount in the story and sidequests.

Paramedic? Not just "doctor"? Hmm... is it just me or does that imply field work? I was thinking about them using that word as well. I have three ideas about why they say paramedic. 1. Perhaps like with the advisers in DAI, particularly Cullen and Josephine, there are times she comes along with us to tend to others on the field. 2. If she is a Matron, perhaps in her Maiden days she was trained to be a paramedic for an Asari commando unit. We've seen that they have them like during the Battle of Thessia there is one tending to a commando paralyzed from the waist down. 3. The article people made a mistake and she is just a doctor but they thought given the mission that makes her a paramedic. I'm pessimistically believing number 3 is most likely. What I would like is more number 1. What I think would be really cool is if she could be found at camps around the planet you happen to be exploring at the time. That way she is closer to where she may be needed for the mission, rather than you having to hoof it back to the Tempest if anyone gets badly injured.

Which will be interesting since that is a stage of the Asari we haven't had on our crew before. Liara and PeeBee are Maidens, Samara is a Matriarch, and Morinth while maybe a Matron pretends to be Samara so we don't get to see it. She may be a bit of a motherly figure because of that, deeply caring and professional but able to quip and have a sense of humor as well.

Since we are able to set up base camps on the planets we explore, perhaps she and a few others can be found at one of those or even just certain ones like the Keeps in Inquisition. That or since the people were only able to see the first hour of the game I believe, perhaps sometime during that first quest she is among the people who rescue us and tends to the wounded on the field.

Well as long as Dr. Lexi doesn't end as Liara 2.0 I'll be good with her although I would love it if she was like Shiala personality wise.

The people at Gameinformer mention that she is aboard Hyperion with us helping us out, and in fact from the sounds of it she is the first alien character we encounter in the game. Makes sense she is there if she is the Tempest's doctor since the Tempest is on Hyperion, just like our salarian pilot Kallo Jath is probably on the Hyperion for the same reason. Easier for them to ride on the Ark where the ship they will serve on is carried rather than the Ark mostly for their species. It was said it carried humans. Last I checked the asari and salarians aren't human. Does that mean there is humans on the asari and salarian ships? Is it because all the human doctors realized the trip to Andromeda was foolish and didn't want any part of it? Maybe the lexi asari is a scientist and has nothing to do with being the ships doctor. If not, my Ryder will be careful not to injure her/himself

Just asking since Liara had a big swing when it came to parts of her so what personality do you mean? Or do you mean in the sense she was a writer's pet? I would love if Dr. Lexi was like Shiala in terms of personality. She is among my favorite NPCs in the entire Shepard Trilogy.

Lexi is an exception to all the humans you see in the beginning of the game. But just because Hyperion is the human ark doesn't mean only humans are on it since the crew of the ships like Tempest have to be aboard as well. If they serve as crewmembers for ships on those arks, then yes there most likely are some humans on the asari, salarian, and turian Arks. There are almost certainly human doctors as well, but perhaps Dr. Lexi tends to us because being the Tempest's doctor she is the most familiar with our medical file. I'm curious why you are so against an asari being the medical officer. I know you are all Humanity First and what not, but just because they are an alien doesn't mean they aren't skilled. Did you not like having to have say Mordin be the ship scientist in ME2 and not want to use his counter to the Collector swarms?

Running into her again in ME2 was for me one of the more meaningful encounters with an old ally or friend from ME1. I always let her live on Feros. It was said it carried humans. Last I checked the asari and salarians aren't human. Does that mean there is humans on the asari and salarian ships? Did you not like having to have say Mordin be the ship scientist in ME2 and not want to use his counter to the Collector swarms? Yes, and in the briefings on the Nexus and Hyperion, Avina even says that other species serve onboard ARK Hyperion, even thought it is considered the human ark in so much that it is transporting the majority of humanity within the AI. It makes sense at least to me that other species come in to help round off necessary roles on the ship that can't all be filled by humans for whatever logistical reasons there may be. And yes I think it is likely that humans are also serving on the asari, salarian and turian arks. It fits in with lore from the books, where Anderson notes how more and more humans are replacing other species in roles in and around Alliance ports, since it took a while for humans to go through C-Sec etc and what have you, so they would have other species working there. I have no problem with Dr. Lexi being an asari. And Humanity First not for me at all. More asari, salarian and turians joining and getting on with us humans the better, since I've always felt that has been one of the driving narrative themes in the series. Cerberus and Humanity First has nearly always been an antagonistic element anyway so.

And even though we haven't seen or really heard much about Dr. Lexi yet, I'd like to get some information on the Tempest's crew at some point soon.

As thebobzilla84 said I would have loved if we would have been able to recruit her as a part of the Normandy crew. I've never killed her. Yeah, a few aliens being aboard the Hyperion is nothing new. They can be filling out roles, offer new perspectives, help form camaraderie between the races and the ships, etc. This is a joint project, so it only makes sense for the ships to be joint as well, even with the majority being devoted to a single race per ship.

I think PeeBee is going to be a weird mix of Jack & Sera personality wise but yeah I see her being Liara 3.0 and I hope I'm wrong but I got a bad feeling.

Yeah, I was not a fan of that at all either. When we encounter her in ME2, Liara was so different in terms of personality it made me question why even have her be the character in that role. And even though we haven't seen or really heard much about Dr. Lexi yet, I'd like to get some information on the Tempest's crew at some point soon. Yeah, that has been a problem among both the Mass Effect and Dragon Age team. They assume everyone will read the book, so they leave things unanswered. When confronted about this, they just say the books/comics/etc answer that. For the expanded lore stuff, I hope they go more the Paragon Lost way. Paragon Lost took something that James Vega explained in Mass Effect 3, and expanded on it. You didn't need to watch it to understand James' past and mindset, but watching it enhanced that. Hopefully between the complaints about some of the expanded material, Bioware learned that lesson and will have the game explain everything while the expanded material merely goes more in-depth. That's true. Just because they are being shown a lot doesn't mean they are crucial. After all with Dragon Age: Inquisition they showed Sera, The Iron Bull, and Vivienne a lot in the promotional material and yet those three characters were the least connected to the plot of the game. I'm hoping they do that in the 15 minute video thing Bioware said they'll be doing mid-February. Have some of it showing discussions in the Tempest, which will give players a better understanding of the dialogue system as well as be an opportunity to introduce us to crewmembers we don't know much if anything about. That or show the beginning of the game since it does the same thing. Either way, Dr. Lexi is there. Yeah, I was not a fan of that at all either. When we encounter her in ME2, Liara was so different in terms of personality it made me question why even have her be the character in that role. Well, in terms of being a writer's pet I think Dr. Lexi is safe since other than a brief mention she hasn't come up in the marketing at all. PeeBee seems to be their new Liara in that regard. Yeah I really liked ME1 Liara which made me really dislike her change in personality in later chapters. I understand why her personality changed, but I would have vastly preferred her remaining like her ME1 self. I'm getting a familiar feeling about PeeBee. That's one reason I'm really excited for Dr. Lexi since she will most likely be different than PeeBee in many aspects.

I'm curious why you are so against an asari being the medical officer. I know you are all Humanity First and what not, but just because they are an alien doesn't mean they aren't skilled. Did you not like having to have say Mordin be the ship scientist in ME2 and not want to use his counter to the Collector swarms? What did Mordin have to do with healing patients when Dr. Chakwas is onboard?

Yes for more like Shiala hopefully! I loved her.
Honestly, I'm curious about all the MEA characters that haven't had much spot light or any insight given.

You still haven't answered that.

If these ships leave at the same time. Arrive in the same area of Andromeda, why would there need to be an alien on the Hyperion? I'm curious what the reasoning is for that. The Hyperion arrives much later in Andromeda for whatever reason, but no one expected it would arrive late. Why use an alien doctor when they're most likely human doctors on the Hyperion?

The Hyperion arrives much later in Andromeda for whatever reason, but no one expected it would arrive late. Why use an alien doctor when they're most likely human doctors on the Hyperion? From the sound of things, it seems that the Arks will be arriving in different parts of the Helius Cluster and then meet up, so for a bit they will be on their own. In the briefing video about the Nexus and Arks, Avina says, "Once in Andromeda, the Nexus and Arks will rendezvous in the Helius Cluster.". Why would they need to rendezvous with each other if they arrive at the same place since they'd already be together? Obviously we know that this happens to a much larger extent than planned, but something like that was planned. Thus, they kept the crews of the ships within Hyperion aboard the Hyperion in case they are needed before rendezvousing with the rest of the Initiative. A good call, as it turns out. Also, perhaps Dr. Lexi is seen as one of the best doctors involved in the initiative, better than any human doctors, so is assigned to one of the most important positions: the medical officer of a Pathfinder vessel. Or perhaps Alec and/or Cora vouch for her skills personally and request her being assigned to their crew, and with them being the leader and XO of the Pathfinder team their request is granted.

I'm glad we learned about our squadmates a bit, well most of them at least but the rest will probably be revealed soon, so now I want to learn about our crew. In past games, I've liked them as much if not more than the squadmates. I hope after they finish doing the info blurbs for the squadmates they do similar things for our crewmates so we can know a bit about Kallo Jath, Dr. Lexi, Reyes, and so on.

Like I've said before. My Ryder will make sure not to get injured. She/he rather have a human doctor looking at her/his injuries and healing them.
