I suspect she'll a practical, but caring, doctor since it's such a high-stakes mission. She'll be highly skilled. I'm expecting some cliche space doctor action happening. My gut is that she'll be a cross between Beverly Crusher and Kelly Chambers. And I really suspect she'll be a romance option (perhaps one of the light touch ones) for both Scott and Sara.

NOTHING will beat Chawkwasss. My guess is she will serve as a more stereotypical Asari (so that players new to the trilogy will have someone to compare the hipster Peebee with). Or maybe she'll surprise me and become my favorite character. Anything could happen.  |

Since all the leaders of the Andromeda Initiative, at least the ones we know of, aren't Asari other than the Asari Pathfinder she could be a counterpoint to PeeBee's character, showing more sides of the Asari through prominent characters as well as making both seem more unique. I think the medical doctor and the scientist could indeed be split into two characters to increase efficiency which would allow the two being aboard the ship doing different things. Here we see Mordin who could replace Chakwas as the ship's medical doctor/healer, but he was too busy doing plot related medical/tech examinations with the seeker swarms and Genophage cure. I can see PeeBee in Mordin's role while Doctor Lexi takes Chakwas' role. As for romance I don't see why she couldn't be a romance alongside PeeBee. The two probably have enough differences in personality and roles in the plot that it wouldn't feel like Lexi is just a shorter PeeBee romance. More options is always good and Bioware loves asari (looks at Liara) |

Asari are (off the top of my head) supposed to be more traditional, patient, and diplomatic than Turians, Humans, or Salarians. An advantage of living a thousand years I suppose. So Dr.Lexi would be more calm, collected, formal, and friendly. The opposite of Peebee whom is supposed to be more impulsive, reckless, and not interested in formalities. Sort of like comparing Sera to Merrill from Dragon Age. Both are elves, yet they are absolute opposites of one another. Not to say that Peebee will be Sera, and Lexi Merrill. Ah, okay. Even looking at her, Dr. Lexi doesn't seem to have any physical distinguishing traits like PeeBee's mark, so it's very likely she'll fit into the "typical Asari" category to some extent. With Mass Effect 3 giving the non-squad members a bit more depth like Cortez and Traynor, I'm looking forward to seeing how much content Dr. Lexi and Kallo Jath who are probably minor characters will have. |

Watching the video GameInformer did that involved them talking about their experience with Mass Effect: Andromeda, another thing that may add support to Dr. Lexi having a more traditional Asari personality is the fact that from the sounds of it she is the first alien we encounter in the game. They talk about how you start on Hyperion and are talking to other humans for a sense of familiarity, with Dr. Lexi being the notable exception due to being an Asari. Since Bioware has talked about how this is a great starting point for new players, that makes her the first experience those new players will have with Asari.

Maybe Dr. Lexi could be like Q from the James Bond films. Instead of wanting to make sure all the equipment comes back in one piece, Dr. Lexi is hopeful that all the squadmates come back none the too worse for wear. A deeply caring doctor for her patients, but stern when it comes to the irresponsible behaviour of some of the squadmates in combat situations which get them into harm. A kind of, Madam Pomfrey type  |

Paramedic? Not just "doctor"? Hmm... is it just me or does that imply field work? I was thinking about them using that word as well. I have three ideas about why they say paramedic. 1. Perhaps like with the advisers in DAI, particularly Cullen and Josephine, there are times she comes along with us to tend to others on the field. 2. If she is a Matron, perhaps in her Maiden days she was trained to be a paramedic for an Asari commando unit. We've seen that they have them like during the Battle of Thessia there is one tending to a commando paralyzed from the waist down. 3. The article people made a mistake and she is just a doctor but they thought given the mission that makes her a paramedic. |

With the Dr.Lexi asari character, when does she become part of the crew? Isn't the tempest on the Hyperion? Isn't Ryder starting out with a human crew and squad? If so, does Ryder get rid of the doctor that's onboard or was there never a doctor to begin with and end up getting the asari for a doctor? The people at Gameinformer mention that she is aboard Hyperion with us helping us out, and in fact from the sounds of it she is the first alien character we encounter in the game. Makes sense she is there if she is the Tempest's doctor since the Tempest is on Hyperion, just like our salarian pilot Kallo Jath is probably on the Hyperion for the same reason. Easier for them to ride on the Ark where the ship they will serve on is carried rather than the Ark mostly for their species. |
