None of the other games included one, but would you want an emote wheel allocated to a certain button? or have the ability to select it from the ability wheel/menu?
Obviously everyone would like to be able to dance at pretty much any point and any place in the game. or fall to your knees in exhaustion. or high five your favorite Krogan.
Games like Dark Souls 3(obviously Bloodborne too!), The Division, Destiny, Battlefront, etc did a decent job. ME:A or future installments could too
What would be some of your favorite emotes to implement? Would you want to be able to collect them say like possibly learn new moves from other races? Do you think this idea is garbage and would rather "Daniel Craig" style stare off into the horizon everywhere you go?

Nah, our character already emotes based on what they do or during conversations that happen in gameplay.
I have always thought it would be funny if dialogue responses were separate from emotional response though and then you'd have to like, hold R2 while saying something to make your character smile

But what about outside of conversations and scripted interactions? no extra layer of control for, well, role playing?

For multiplayer right? That would be fun, playing through ME3 multi at the moment and there have been quite a few times where I've tried pressing the d-pad to access an inexistent emote wheel.
Edit: you mean for single player then? Eh.

Multiplayer is fun and all but being in a BioWare game it always lacked more... RPG in my opinion and this addition would be welcome.

I don't really see a point since there are cut-scenes and the characters emote by themselves. I'd rather they spent time and resources on something else.

Edit: you mean for single player then? Eh. I would hope for both. I honestly think it would be cool to have an emote that lets Ryder sit. Would be cool to have some screen captures of ryder and the companions sitting in the middle of nowhere on some awesome planet. Taunting emotes would be cool for multiplayer. But again it could make for another fun thing to collect. I typically like having collectibles in rpgs though as well the ability to make my character do whatever

In singleplayer I don't see the point. In multiplayer it would be nice, especially if it was tied to a quick chat, so you could say thank you to someone for reviving you or something or celebrate a successful mission together.

I guess the question is would you have liked an emote or action wheel in a game like The Witcher 3? I don't think ME Andromeda is going to be like ME2 or ME3 where it's a very streamlined story. It'll be more open for exploration with side quests like the Witcher 3 and ME1 (even though ME1 didn;t have many side quests; mostly just walking around vast empty planets)

I could see value for there being one in multiplayer, and if one was built for multiplayer then I don't see what'd hurt about it being accessible in single player.
That said, I don't really see myself ever using it.

I hate that kind of emoting. To OP: Maybe for MP, maybe. Just not a fan of that stuff in general. Shoot the enemies, don't dance with them!

"good game" etc in a "wheel" than dancing or waving or whatever.

I liked it in Bloodbourne.
For MEA? Not sure. Maybe I can have my Ryder light up a cigar and then smile while walking away.

Emotes would be interesting, if done well. Has to be nothing over the top though like the silliness that Destiny has become due to its microtransaction emotes. Maybe something that allows you to interact with a squadmate would be cool. Or just being able to ask a squadmate about the current mission/situation at any point.

....Are you talking about one of those things where your character just starts breaking out into break dancing at the press of a button?

Would fit alright in the MP, but not SP. Not something I would use in a Co-op type game though.

Wouldn't want to limit other aspects. The vid below is from dark souls III. You could pull them up from a menu, hopefully it's a hologram from the omni tool and just select an emote among other things like gear, loadouts, etc. Again, I just thought it would be a cool collectible, and yes, I would want dance moves. It would be cool if we could learn new gestures and dances from other races as a collectible. This in turn can be used during multiplayer as well but you have to play single player to acquire them.
Probably wont get it this game, but maybe in the future.
