My guess is you can visit them on the Nexus at least - any MAYBE they will do a mission with you a la Anderson did at beginning of ME3. Will be nice to have at least some differences in each playthrough depending upon Scott or Sara picked.
Still pissed Anderson wasn't a squadmate possibility in ME3...

And regardless of who you choose, your sibling's in the game (Awesome!) But he's not a squadmate (Uh....) I'm not sure this is a given. I seem to remember hearing that your sibling will be out of the picture for a bit for some reason (maybe injured along with Dad, leading you to become the pathfinder) but eventually returns. Don't know if that's as a squadmate or not but it's possible. I know I'd love to have them together, at least at times.

I don't necessarily mind that they're not squadmates, but I will be severely disappointed if they're not important to the story in some way besides them dying and being a motivator for the plot.
Like, seriously, I want to see them frequently. I want actual interactions. I want a whole subplot focusing on family, which Bioware claims is a big theme in Andromeda.
If they end up being another Carver/Bethany, I swear, my hype level for this game is going to plummet. I want Mass Effect to try some new dynamics. I already get tired of referring to Dragon Age as "Fantasy Mass Effect". Bioware's games are far too similar.

I'm actually wondering if your sibling becomes a villain later on in the game. There's a theory floating around (I'm sure most of you have heard it) that this expedition may have some shady origins, particularly surrounding the furtherance of humanity and AI. I wonder if maybe your sibling pursues that goal a little more strongly than you do.
Just an idea.

I think ill decide whether or not ill want my sibling as a squad mate after i see their personality. Could be good, could be bad. I second this. It will be interesting to see how differently the siblings behave/communicate when we choose one versus the other. I would think at least one of them would be bitter about the choice while the other would be more cordial.

Instead of having the sibling being injured or unable to join missions for whatever reason. Having them be an oracle type character (think batman) would be cool if SAM wasn't a thing. So, since SAM is a thing... I think it might be kinda cool to have the sibling not be unable to go on missions, but instead go on their own missions with their own team. Have them basically competing against you. Then end up having to grudgingly work together later on. Idk. lol But I wouldn't want them as a squadmate I don't think. Oooh, I really like this idea! is SAM linked to your sibling too? maybe SAM can give you updates on their status at various points throughout the story too?

I prefer to have them offscreen TBH. Since I usually play two runs of Bioware games as opposite characters, that would mean I would play both Ryder twins in different games, possibly in parallel. So it would make it hard to feel ownership for broRyder after having experienced him with a fully formed personality during a 50 hour sisRyder run. Better if he's just a sketch so I can still inhabit the character fully on the other playthrough.

Or you have to choose later in the game whether to follow your father (should he show up alive) or go a different path. Whatever you choose you sibling chooses the opposite. Could lead to some sad results.

There could be some reason as to why your sibling isn't on your squad, perhaps he.she has their own squad.

I already get tired of referring to Dragon Age as "Fantasy Mass Effect". Bioware's games are far too similar. Exactly what I don't want (screw this family story stuff - sorry, but I've got my fill of that in Fallout 3 and 4 (basically twist rehashes of one another - you look for the father in one and for the son in the other -.-))...I have a family (parents and sister) in RL, so I don't need one in a game (kind of not conductive for immersion IMHO!) Still, yeah - I'd love to play as the sibling for a few missions (important ones that require two teams, so the sibling has his/her own team and you switch POV at certain checkpoints in the mission!) Also: I prefer my men as more level headed (men as hot head hardliners who just want to shoot shit and play the gung-ho hero has been done to death! Give me a man who's into science, art etc. (while also being a soldier), so a gentleman/poet/philosopher soldier (just what an officer was supposed to be in times long gone, where officers in the military were also influencial in society etc.)) as well, while I love firecracker women (not stupid women who charge in and blow shit up just because - no, tempered passion, rational but more likely to fight than to talk (especially if the enemy shot first)) As for Carver and Bethany? I liked her (sadly: Never had her for long - I almost exclusively play MAGES in Dragon Age!) and I hated him ("Are you fucking kidding me Carver? A templar? Want to deliver me to your fucked up crazy commander (Meredith)?" - That's what I wanted to ask Carver when he showed up in that uniform...fucking asshole!) greetings LAX

Better if he's just a sketch so I can still inhabit the character fully on the other playthrough. This is basically how Bioware and some of the more vocal Roleplay centric fans want it. While I don't agree I do understand But I'm still on the other end of spectrum who want to see the other siblings do things, being an actual person rather than some unconscious faceless husk. It won't kill the experience for me but enhance it. I'm also gonna run both siblings but regardless of their default persona I'll still play them my own way. if Bioware really serious about Andromeda being a "family affair" then they should let us see the other Ryder doing their own thing or joining us eventually similar to Carver/Bethany from DA2 or even one mission like Anderson & Aria in ME3

I thought they said that we would not be fighting our sibling or father (for which I am very grateful for). At any rate, I am also disappointed that we can't have our sibling on our squad too. I've tried playing DA2 multiple times, but when Carver leaves after Act 1, I can't seem to care about moving forward.
It's too bad we can't have them along. Maybe in the next game, if the Ryders carry forward, it'll be an option. I think it would be a lot of fun to have a sibling around.

Well, the whole idea of being one of the twins is pretty meh for me, and I'd rather we are given an option to ignore Sara/Scott as much as possible. Glad they do not take up a valuable squadmate space. I am not playing either Sara or Scott, I am playing my own character with Sara/Scott just being an npc that changes its gender depending on the protagonist's gender.
