They're probably going to sell something that matches the in-game hoody, so it's basically an advertisement. It was the same deal with the N7 hoody in Mass Effect 3. 

The N7 hoody was probably the clothing option for Shepard I liked least. Besides being slightly annoyed that was it an advertisement for real merchandise, it made Shepard look like he or she was partially out-of-uniform. Since it was paired with uniform items rather than jeans, it was suitable neither for the Citadel or the Normandy's bridge. It looked like Shepard couldn't make up his or her mind on whether to wear civilian clothing or a uniform, so he or she went with both. That, or Shepard was dressed for a boots & utes run.

The N7 leather jacket was cool, though. Unlike the hoody it also wasn't paired with uniform items, so it worked as something Shepard could wear on the Citadel.
