Mac Walters has said that they have a plan for all the old races to be in Andromeda, even if they won't be shown in the first game.

NO race is abandoned as of yet. There is a plan in place -according to Mac Walters. Maybe they pull them into the Andromeda the same way they are the Turians, Asari, Salarins and Humans.
However more likely they will pull them in maybe in a similar way they are with the Krogan -there own personal colony ships. For the loved/hated Quarians this is obvious with their flotilla. Never count out the Geth -especially if Legion is the base of what they are capable on their own and free to independent thought. For the Vorch, Batarians, Hanar, Elcor, Rachni, Drell and Volus however things as far as I see remain uncertain.

It takes resources to build races.
They had to build new Andromeda races, so some others had to go...

Guys... do you think the old species of the Milkyway will be in Andromeda? so far I have not seen the Quarians, Geth, Rachni and others :/ considering that Andromeda is a reboot or a fresh restart of the series, it makes no sense for BioWare to throw away the old races :/ I don't think that all old species will be represented in Andromeda, because it doesn't make sense to bring all races with you on an exploration mission. If the official mission goal would be to flee before the Reapers hit, most of the races probably would've gotten an invitation. The way it is presented to us, this is not the case though, so people had to sign up as individuals. It is also not a reboot, it's a different story in the ME universe. So unless Rachni or Geth fled/went to Andromeda on their own, you won't see any in Andromeda, because no one has any connection to them before Shepard. Some of the others might have signed up as individuals (so maybe we see a Quarian or a Batarian). I don't mind it if we aren't seeing many though, because Andromeda is about exploring the unknown, so it should be more about a strong, small core group having first contact with new species.

Sounds like it could come across as really cheap if they start bringing across races for fan service when there isn't a decent reason for their inclusion.

I don't mind letting some of the other species sit this game out.
We've already had a decent amount of focus on and a decent amount of resolution to the stories of species like the Quarians, the Geth, and the Krogans. That's not to say there aren't more stories that could be told that center on those species, but for now, I'm fine with either leaving them behind in the Milky Way, or only seeing a few representatives of their species that join the Andromeda Initiave as individuals.

Well, it's not like you can't make a case for many of them (don't have to for Humans, Asari, Salarians and Turians, they have been confirmed after all): Let's start with the Quarians: - best technicians in the known galaxy (they copied the fucking Normandy from what ever Tali learned while on board, they didn't have plans for the ship or anything and that's just one example! They fucking live in space, so their knowledge would be invaluable to constructing the arcs (and it's not like they don't know that they will face danger soon, they are preparing to hit the Geth after all, so putting a sizealbe detachment of technicians and civilians somewhere else (not all eggs in one basket and all that!) sounds like a great idea IMHO if you are an admiral who's not in favor of war and thinks that attacking the Geht might end your specials for good!) Next the Geth: - they know that the Reapers are coming (the Heretics served Sovereign after all!) and they know that the Quarians will attack them eventually, so they will do what they can to survive (and becoming stowaways on an existing expedition is cheaper than putting together your own, especially if you travel as software not hardware - you can then take over mechs in the new galaxy and make off with a small ship or something, till you want to contact the other races again, if ever!) Batarians: - They have dissenters who fear the Hegemony and would love to leave to a place where the Hegemony can't get to them and where they can live their lives like they want to without slavery and without a caste sytem etc. Krogan: - (ok, they are confirmed, too but still:) They are outcasts, mercenaries and a dying race so joining the expedition gives the more intelligent Krogan hope (in a new galaxy their skills are in demand and if hostilities are bad (talking about atmospheric conditions just as much as hostile aliens!) the expedition members might lift the genophage (!) in order to have more soldiers, so their race has a good chance of making it in Andromeda (more than in the Milkyway on Tuchanka!), especially if the - in time - get their own world (!)) Vorcha: - expendable foot-soldiers (always great to have - cheaper than mechs probably - all things considered) that can tolerate harsh conditions (only the Krogan are better at this!) Drell: - stealthy fighters (ok, not all of them - but assassins like Thane - would be a great addition, especially because I bet there's some Salarian STG-Members (or former members) along who will provide the targets for assassins to take out) who can live on desert worlds? (most other races don't like those worlds, so they fill niche) Volus: - another niche (methane high gravity worlds) and they are great bankers and traders Elcor - another niche - high gravity worlds (also not something most species are interested in) and they are heavy infantry (we might not have many vehicles (like tanks) at the start, but a walking tank is always something great to have in your arsenal (note: I still want to see them! ME3 cheated me out of that, damn you developers!) Can't come up with anything for the Rachnii (sadly, I'd have loved to see them again - hell, a Rachnii squaddy would have been nice IMHO (totally different than everybody we've had so far - even compared to Legion!)) or the Hanar sadly (no, Blasto is not a reason ) greetings LAX ps: I hope everybody that can be there is there (in sufficient numbers, don't want them to die out slowly!)...call it fanservice or whatever, I want the old races, their blundering (with ME3, especially the ending) has ruined Mass Effect enough, don't need to lose the races IMHO

We are going to a whole NEW galaxy. Why would it not fallow that a few species would not be around? I mean I think it is kinda silly that we are in a new Galaxy and we are bringing at least 5 species with us but so far we only know of two new ones? In all that new space we only find two new races? I mean I know that is easily explained. Saying they don't have the mass relays to bring the species of the Andromeda Galaxy together but still....

The only unconfirmed species I want to be included are the Quarians. I consider them one the 'big five' alien species, and we've had one on the team since the very first Mass Effect game. Much like the other four species coming, it wouldn't feel like a Mass Effect game without them.
At this point I just want them to say if they have announced all of the MW species that will be in Andromeda or not. If the Quarians aren't in MEA then I can be disappointed and get over it before release, and if they are then I don't have to be concerned about it any more. But there's no excuse for keeping us guessing this late in the development process. I'm sick and tired of "more information coming later"- just tell us yes or no. The game comes out in a month, and it's basic information.
If they refuse to tell us until launch and it is only the Turians, Asari, Salarians and Krogan I'll be livid. Wanting to keep it simple for the first game is fine and understandable, but there's no reason to keep it a secret.

It makes no sense for the milky way species to be in andromeda. Why the f is there a krogan on the squad?! What the f. The whole concept of the andromeda initiative is completely stupid and cringey and silly and shows just how retarded the game makers are, it literally makes no sense. I understand that they're trying to get away from the horrific trainwreck that was the first three games, because they're the worst three games that have ever been made (mass effect is the worst game ever), but this just isn't the way to do it. That's how retarded the writers are, they're making it so much worse, which i didn't think was possible considering that mass effect is the worst game series ever.
The only way for them to have a fresh start is to admit that they're retarded, acknowledge the fact that mass effect is the worst game ever, sack all the people who had anything to do with making the first three games, and hire a new team of writers and game makers who aren't retarded and who understand how to write a good story and how to make a good game.

A little off-topic, but:
I love the fact that there's an option to block users on the forums.
Though is it at all possible to make them completely invisible? That is -- I don't want to see their posts quoted (or even mentioned, frankly) either; is there such an option?

isn't Andromeda not supposed to "make sense" in the first place considering it is not tied to the first 3 whatsoever except for the "for the sake of the lore argument" in order just to call it Mass Effect?

The geth are our enemies during this time, and the rachni are practically extinct with the ones left in hiding in the MW ( if you let the queen live). As for quarians, I'm sure they weren't invited (lots of prejudice against them) but we could probably see a few scattered around who wanted to come for an adventure or to explore Andromeda in hopes for a new home world. We're in a new galaxy, so I really want to see new races. I don't want to feel like it's a re-skin of the Milky Way.
