I'm quite enjoying not being matched with 100+ currently. I had 4 games where they all went the same hero, re-q'd and had an enjoyable few close games with level 30's.

They weren't wrong. They did what needed to be done in time, or at least the newest piece of the puzzle (they still have yet to figure out the Tracer Trail).
This guy explains in detail what the decoders are having to do, and he does it really well - because he himself is one of them.

Got around doing my season 2 PTR placement matches, won 5 of those games, received rank 3,238, that puts me in Diamond. I had a draw in one of them, bout 5/10 of the placement games were pretty close, had like 2 that were steam rolls.

Now, I personally really don't like the discord orb as it basically guarantees that you will be dead within seconds unless you hightail out of harms way very quickly (most of the time tough I will die fleeing). You can't really counter it, not even D!vas defence matrix will protect you from it. Also, because it has no cooldown it can be transferred very quickly to the next victim once you are dead.
I will freely admit to still being mostly a newb when it comes to FPS-games, so if it's your opinion that I need to "git gud" I can see where you are coming from. I'm mostly curious about what people think about it, if there is a difference between console and PC, and your best tips on how to counter it (besides trying to kill Zenyatta obviously).

Console player here, PS4 no less and my views on Orb Of Discord vary depending on who I'm playing as. As Reaper I could care less but he makes life a lot easier for me as an ally. As any tank except Zarya but Roadhog especially, any enemy Zen can burn in hell. As far as counters go, killing him is the best counter. Genji, Tracer or Reaper can do it fairly easily since Zen is slow, Hanzo or Widowmaker if you're a good sniper. Other than that, Zarya's barriers get rid of it on Zarya herself or an ally as do Mei's Cryo Freeze, Tracer's Recall and Reaper's Wraith Form. |

You can counter zens discord by having zarya shield you (or yourself as zarya) or use mei's ice block. Reapers wraith form also removes it.

Duelist & Kantr: I think the problem with using Zarya's bubble and Mei's ice block is that they both (well, at least Zarya's) has a considerable cooldown, and since Zen's orb doesn't he just throws it on me as soon as the bubble disappears/the ice melts. Also, I dislike using the ice block like that because you are so vulnerable to attacks once you come out of it (can't name all the times enemies just stood around me waiting for me to thaw!). I am trying to learn how to play Tracer at the moment, so I guess she is my best shot (I am a horrible Reaper and only half-decent Genji). I'm still hoping the coming nerf will make playing a bit less frustrating for me!

Zen, like most of the supports, should be focused. If you aren't focusing Zen, it's really your own fault if your team wipes.

Oh, I try to focus on Zen, it's just that I will often die because of the discord orb before I can reach him (hence why I asked for tips on how to counter it). It seems my best route is to learn to play Tracer and blink by the enemy lines to finish him off and recall if he puts the orb on me.

Nah, nah. Tracer can work, but simply learning how to play her won't be enough if the Zen is half decent. Reinhardt shield can help push against him. Taking him out from range is probably better than trying to get up close to him. Discord Orb will disappear after 3 seconds if he loses sight. Range can help a lot in that regard. Soldier works well against him. McCree as well. Anyone that works best at mid range would probably do alright against a Zenyatta.
Also, stay with the group and behind the tanks. That way, it will decrease the chances that Discord lands on you.
