As a Pharah main, my thought process goes as this:
Anything that can kill me > Healers > DPS that can't kill me > Tanks
Of course I shouldn't go all ham in the middle of the team but I suck so...
This is pretty much how I prioritize as Pharah aswell
Things that are a serious threat to me first. Then I hunt for their healers

ziegrif Thank you so much for all the tips! I mostly play healer but I'm trying to learn to play more DPS, so I need all the help I can get! My aim is pretty shitty, and I don't really have the killer instinct. I used to main D.VA, but after the nerf I've struggled with her (I have a particular hard time killing enemies with small hit-boxes like Widow and Ana).

Start with Soldier, easy to aim and powerful.
If you're looking to transition and still play healer start with Ana as she's a Healer DPS hybrid. If you're looking to get into Pharah and Junkrat go for Zen as he has projectiles and is a good entry level healer to get into DPS.
If you want to play Tanks I'd go for Zarya as she requires good aim and can transition into Soldier or Junkrat as the skills are very much the same as Zarya has tracking and projectile fire. Just remember to use your projected barrier to save anyone who is about to take dmg or gets hooked or charged. It's not for gaining energy your personal barrier is meant for that. Also rule of thumb for Gravitons. 3 enemies in line of sight AND an ally has a dps ultimate Fire away. 2 is also a good enough haul if you're looking to burst them down by yourself.
Pharah is a unique case. If you want experience on her you should check other games like TF2s Soldier or Drogoz from Paladins. Or just put out more and more hours on Pharah as she's unique mechanically to Overwatch.

I went 53-7 as DVA in comp though I'm still adjusting to her post nerf
Not sure what to make of Orisa. She's strong at holding a point and her ult is godly if you're playing Soldier (or utterly terrifying if it's powering up a Roadhog).

But she's no replacement for Reinhardt.
Didn't play her yet, I've heard that while she is meant as an alternative to Reinhardt by Blizzard, she is more useful as the 2nd tank, but this position has a harsh competition from all other tanks in the roster. I think that her strength is her versatility, while her weakness is her poor mobility, to counteract the highly mobile Winston and DVa. I can't wait to get my hands on her, but I'm afraid she will suffer the same fate as Sombra.
Speaking of which, the viewable healthpack hack is a massive change and a huge boost for Genji and Tracer when Sombra is present, it also eliminates the necessity of communicating the healthpack's location and allows everyone to follow the timer. The loud stealth also got quieter so this is good as well, maybe Sombra players won't get in the long run a stream of toxicity hopefully.

Current Orisa is a great partner for Reinhardt. She specialises in slow grinding advances and it's very hard to advance into her unless you are a Flanker. Projectiles do 12 dmg per bullet and have no drop off. Her spread however gets a bit large after 50 meters.
But she is accurate enough from any distance. Her bullets are also large so Headshots are easier to land. Halt can raise enemies so they can be Earthshattered even if there's a shield in the way. You can also do obvious stuff like dragging people down cliffs / roofs and dragging them into dmg.
The shield is spammable but unless you get lucky you're not fast enough with it to block a shatter. You're going to basically activate Fortify and bodyblock the Reinhardt so he can't get at your allies.
Supercharger "bongo" is a 50% dmg boost on a 25 meter range of it with LOS. Basically this thing is a full team half of a Nano boost. It has pretty much infinite combo potential.
Personally I love Orisa as she's like the TF2 Heavy. Slow to advance but if they get the payload moving they're hard to stop. They Anchor the team by being hard to attack against and hard to stop and being beneficial to fight around with her ult. Her constant dmg is what keeps the enemy down and what she loses in a Reinhardt fight she gains by keeping the Reinhardt from charging into her with Fort. Essentially she keeps the enemy honest and from doing something reckless and risky and punishes them hard if they do so. Like a long charge is going to be met with bullets and a fort.
From what I see if you're in the front launch your shield and after the shield blows up fortify and advance fast. After that shield again and alternate until you have to move and never stop firing unless you need to advance. Shoot and use Halt to draw enemies into your fire.
She's EXTREMELY weak against Widow and Hanzo due to her huge head hitbox so contantly harass them with primary fire and advance only with Fortify up against sniper sight lines. She also has trouble with Tracer and Genji due having low CQC options.
If you love the TF2 Heavy Orisa will be a good jumping on point. I think she'll take Zaryas place if the community likes her.

Nah Orisa gives it to the whole team. Pushing into a supercharged Soldier and Orisa sucks but the downside is having to take Orisa. She's not necessarily bad just not worth taking as an off tank over Zarya or Roadhog and isn't strong enough to be a main tank like Reinhardt.
First game back in almost 3 months....A lot of changes have happened and not all for the better it seems. Why buff Bastion? Why on earth did they nerf Ana (i'm very salty about this) and who is this new character?

Me and my friend were playing a comp match a week ago, and it started out like any game; the map was Dorado and we started on defense. We managed to work well and the enemy never capped the first point. That does not mean it was easy, and at one point I had to rez half my team.
We then switched to attack, and we were so pumped! But, for whatever reason, the enemy team never showed up and we just brought the payload all the way without interference (still not sure what happened there). Then it's time for PotG, and this is what we get:
Like, seriously?! I rezzed half my team and fully healed a Reinhardt from 40 hp and this is PotG?! I have to admit, I was a bit triggered, although I can totally see how hilarious it is...

First game back in almost 3 months....A lot of changes have happened and not all for the better it seems. Why buff Bastion? Why on earth did they nerf Ana (i'm very salty about this) and who is this new character?
1. Because Bastion had a 0.1 - 0.0 pick rate in tournament play and a non existent presence at Master / Grandmaster level. He's still rare on Diamond and Masters where I've been at. Even after the buffs.
2. Ana was nerfed because she has the best healing in the game, has anti-heal, had extremely good DPS (It's still good) for such a good healer has a sleep that works as an anti-ult and anti-flanker. Hell even tanks need to think twice before jumping her. Her kit is bloated and to keep other healers competitive they had to nerf her. Personally? The nerf wasn't enough.
3. New tank. Has projected shield kinda like Winstons, an ability that's anti-cc on only herself, a mini graviton and an ult that gives 50% dmg buff to everyone in LOS for 25 meters. Huge headbox so she's countered by anyone with the ability to shoot her head. Slow moving gatling projectile gun. Genji, Tracer and Widow are primary counters.
After a several month hiatus I've returned to do my S4 placement matches, and i've been trying out Orisa while doing them and she's a most pleasant surprise, I'm actually going to alternate between her and D.Va from now on.
Oh and I got her "Overclocked" chievo with it's cute spray, which is rather nice.

Did my 10 placements and ended up with Gold at 2373, not bad for having test runned Orisa in the first couple of placements and that disastrous last match.

Some of my favorite kills in the game has come from the vengeance fueled gun of hers. Dont mess with Mercy if you want to keep living
