Oh no, I love Symmetra. Mainly because I love placing hazards in smart places to hit the enemy. What are they changing her to? Her gun is going to be more similar to Zarya's, however it will ramp up charge on shields. So no more lock-on. She will have three turrets instead of six, but they will have a bit more health and she deploys them by shooting them instead. Her teleporter will be an ability that can be used to traverse the map rather than bring people back from spawn. No more deployable photon shield. Her new ult is a great shield barrier (this sound pretty lame to be honest - useful, but lame).

aw, they're gonna nerf her turrets? That's my favorite ability haha I'm not sure whether it will be a nerf or a buff to be honest, she will have more freedom deploying them on the move at least. But yeah, I think three sounds like a bit too few. Hopefully they will put it on the ptr this week or next week.

The three turrets will also deal more damage and I believe have more health each than when she had six turrets, so it is a quality over quantity thing now.

I assume some people just like to play their favorites regardless of what is meta. I would know, I'm one of those players. Though this early in my experience of this game idk what the meta is and I'm not high enough level to play ranked yet. But the best characters so far feel like: Brigitte, Hanzo, Pharah, Tracer, Zarya. They are in most every game.
Played a lot more Mercy last night, but man... when your dps players don't keep the pharah's off you, it's really hard to not switch off healer. Cause you just die and die and die. And then people whine for healing and you're like bruh, I'm dead for 20th time because no one cares about the support until they want heals. lol

I think Moira is a good and dominating support. Ana can be good (and I gave her a second chance and kinda liked her this time). I think mercy kind of sucks tho cause she has no damage or defense other than flying with her ult which, as I found out last night is completely countered by there being a mccree on the other team. Every time I ult'd I'd hear... It's high noon! and I'd die lmao.

Dead-Eye is a super strong counter to Valkyrie, and that's just the way it is. What you usually do is try to fly above roofs and close to walls so you can quickly duck behind them when under fire. It's the same strategy against Tac-Visor, another really difficult ult for Valkyrie to deal with. Mercy is actually considered one of the strongest supports currently, so if you want to support in comp learning her is a good thing. Make sure to only rez when you are sure that it's safe, and be particularly vary of any Tracers or McCrees as they both can easily kill you when immobile or abort the rez with flashbang. Don't use Valkyrie so much for healing as for starting a push forward, and then mainly the damage boost.
With Ana the key is virtually to know when to use your nade, which is tough as you currently are often forced to use it on yourself. Throw it on the enemy during crucial plays (like during ults) and you will see them crumble. The sleep dart is difficult to land, but when you do count to 5 before harming the enemy as they have a slower wake-up then (giving you more time to damage them) - you can also listen to the sound cue for when they are about to wake up. If the enemy is 200 hp like a Soldier or Genji what you do is you shoot-nade-shoot in quick succession if you have to kill them yourself. Tracer is more difficult, then you have to shoot-nade-melee in very quick succession so she doesn't recall (counting to 5,5 seconds is also extra vital with her).

It's just that the difference between playing Reinhardt into the Rein/Zarya/Brig trio without a Zarya behind you is stark. It can be done, it's just extremely frustrating. Very perceptive. Tracer aside, Brigitte fucked over dive heroes this season, those heroes are, for the most part, the meta. That said, even when he wasn't the strong pick he is now, Hanzo still got picked a lot.

Or if you're playing tank, cover your Mercy. Even if abilities are on cooldown, you can still turn your back to the enemy (that way you don't get shot in the head) and body block any incoming fire. It's kind of annoying to see how many tanks don't do this.

Doomfist seems pretty good at doing that. And I don't think I've played with or against a bad one yet.

Well I don't really know what a dive character is? I assume heroes that have to get in close? melee? Dive is a type of team composition that revolves around extremely mobile heroes, and often Zenyatta, with the goal of circumventing the enemy frontline using their mobility and going straight for the supports in the backline. Usually after getting a kill, a Dive comp would then use it's mobility to snowball their small advantage Winston, D.Va, Tracer and Zenyatta were generally the backbone of this team comp with the other DPS depending on map and/or whether you were attacking or defending and Lucio or Mercy as the other support until Mercy got buffed, in which case she became a must pick. Granted, this is the ideal team for Dive. If you could run it, the only thing that could beat a well executed Dive was a better Dive. Doomfist, despite his mobility, is a lot better against Dive than he is as part of it. He's the sort of character who can win or lose fights for your team almost singlehandedly with very little middle ground.

Duelist, you played a bit of Zarya didn't you? I'm trying to learn her a bit since she's one of my least played, but I'm really struggling with her. I'm pretty good at gaining charge through my bubbles, but I seem to get overly aggressive easily when I reach 100 and die quickly. Any good pointers you can give me? I'm pretty trash at tracking in general, but I'm hoping my time on Moira will have helped me make some improvements.

Ok, played a lot more Ana tonight and... I LOVE HER. So much better than Mercy. Maybe that's because I'm playing versus quickplay people but, she has good healing with that grenade and gun and she has a bit of defense if you need it in her sleep dart if a genji or someone gets in your face. I think she's gonna be my healer of choice.
And I finally did decent with Widowmaker too had a game with 17 final blows when my previous was like 7 so haha

Finished my comp DM placements and placed gold by the grace of the lord.
I don't know if it's just me, but even as an offense character is can be a challenge to 1 on 1 her. It's like being up against an offense/tank hybrid.

We'll see in about 6 levels when I can finally play ranked haha It's the sleep dart and heal grenade that sell her for me. No more pesky dps's killing me in 2 shots. shot, sleep, melee, shot, victory! Or sleep, grenade, run. haha

Getting to high charge and thinking you can take on the world is one of those things that happens early on playing Zarya. The biggest thing is to remember that while a charged up Zarya can be insanely hard to kill, she's still the squishiest tank hero. Really can't give more specific tips than that without seeing some gameplay tbh.

I'm not Duelist but I've seen this a lot and this happens to a lot of people when they start to play her. Keep in mind that a high charged Zarya is a high priority target, so when the enemy team sees you, they think (or should be thinking) 'Zarya must die. Now' and if the Zarya overextends, that's what usually ends up happening. Try not to do that, you're very valuable with high charge, move with your team and the rest is just play, play and play.

Thanks, I'm just so bad with tracking and I never really know when to switch to my alt fire... heck, I don't even really understand how to position myself with her. But I feel I kinda need to learn to play her considering how meta she is (also, my friends like to play D.VA and Junkrat, and they combo really well).

According to my stats, I've played Mercy for 2+ hours and Ana for 1+ hours.
Mercy: Healing - 86,235 Self Healing - 12,402 Offensive Assists - 38 Defensive Assists - 167 Players Rez - 37 Damage - 11,968 42 elim / 98 deaths Wins - 8
Ana: Healing - 43,299 Self Healing - 3,646 Offensive Assists - 77 Defensive Assists - 105 Players Slept - 35 Damage - 25,842 95 elim / 49 deaths Wins - 9
So, with about half the time played, Ana has about half the healing, the same or more assists, way more damage, and more wins. The only thing she is lagging behind in is self heals.
Plus she doesn't have to get in harms way to heal her teammates.
This all just reinforces my thoughts that she is better than Mercy. (If not in the meta, at least for me personally)
