Because of massive static electricity buildup in the dust cloud, the Serpent Nebula is a navigation hazard, that ships should avoid at all costs. It's a natural defense for the Citadel itself because it means that the station can only be approached safely via the mass relays right next to it. There is even speculation, that the Nebula consists of particles that were created during the stations original construction and are maintained by the Citadel, as the keeper operated systems convert waste material into more particles and eject them from the station, replenishing the cloud, if you will. That's never been proven though, apparently (which is a bit weird because it seems like something that would be easy to measure0.

At least that was the explanation for the Nebula, given in the novel Revelation. Of course, Kasumi's DLC in ME2 retconned the whole thing by letting you fly through the Nebula to Bekenstein. IMO yet another example where the series undermined one of it's cooler original concepts.

I never did end up in lava this time, but the Mako is such a baby when it comes to taking hits. And I'm not used to baby sitting my companions this much to keep them from dying.

Couldn't quite get my ReneShep that far, he's in the cave about to free Liara. It's kinda funny, I'm on Hard mode for Reneshep, but because I've still got the strategy sharp in my head from last time, I've actually died less and gone faster.

Guess that was the point, eh?

WTH, I died like 20 times on Normal, then kill the Battlemaster the 2nd round on HArd? (and only then because I meant to order my comrades to move, and instead used Heal like a dummy)

Making a beacon that only works with Prothean Biology seems to be a HUGE flaw in the prothean's plan for passing on a warning. Why is Javik so pissed later that there poor planning failed?

Also, cool. Ashley got jealous this time when Liara started getting sultry with her words this time with Male Shep. They obviously made it canon that the humans are interested in Shep, so why does everyone say Liara is more canon?
