So I chose to save the nameless workers rather than chase after Vido. So, Zaeed probably going to backstab me at some point. He's an intense guy, Ahab? Was the one chasing the White whale right? I feel no urge to probe all the minerals off, but I do like seeing the 100% discovered planets. Off to do a Firewalker mission. You really don't need that many recourses (I think it's only around 250.000 of each except Eezo in order to get all upgrades. Eezo, you only need around 50.000. It's still a good idea to go to all the planets though. That way, you can make sure you don't miss anything and also, I think the planet descriptions are really great to read in a lot of cases. Some of the most interesting tidbits about ME lore are in those descriptions.

The player doesn't need to scan any planets at all. I only get the upgrades I need for the game. The rest I ignore. Even when I scan I just get enough for what I want to upgrade. There's also resources that can be gathered during missions As far as how much the player needs, I don't know the exact amount, but I do know that however many resources the player has when importing into ME3 will effect the number of war assets in ME3

I'm now attempting to "recruit the Krogan." Apparently the save I imported had Shepherd destroy the cure, so now there are Krogan being grown in tanks. One of them broke their silence to speak to Shepherd. Other than smelling different, no reason was given as to why. Huh. Wonder if this is chosen one support or if somehow what Cerberus did to Shepherd makes her sorta alien. I can imagine a kill switch could have been installed or something interesting like that.
Then whenever I get the Krogan I'll do the loyalty mission. Till one by one they will all be completed. And then the game stoey starts? Haha. I'm feeling a bit like I'm in the Hinterlands.

Then whenever I get the Krogan I'll do the loyalty mission. Till one by one they will all be completed. And then the game stoey starts? Haha. I'm feeling a bit like I'm in the Hinterlands. Just for some background: Shepard will always destroy "the cure" in ME1. That's not a choice. What happened was that the bad guy in ME1 - Saren - found a way to breed Krogan, effectively, countering the genophage. The problem: All those Krogan would be loyal to Saren and would be used as a weapon to destroy the council species and pave the way for the reapers (just like the Geth were used by Saren and Sovereign). Shepard destroyed the facility and thus the cure. One issue is that at that point, Shepard was working with a Krogan called Wrex. Upon learning that Saren had a cure for the disease that slowly killed his species, Wrex obviously wasn't happy about Shepard's plan to blow it up. Under the right circumstances, the player could reason with Wrex and make him understand that the cured Krogan would just be Saren's slaves. If the persuasion was successful, Wrex would remain with the team. If not, Wrex would be killed, either by Shepard or Ashley (an ME1 team mate).

The citadel was closest so I headed there next. Figured it was time to kill the rumor about Shepherd being dead. Mostly people aren't recognizing me at all, which I find odd. But maybe supports my new look The Asari And Turian couple at the fish store were adorable. "Is this the life span talk again?" Onwards.

Ooooooo yeah. I hated the Council in the first game. And they just reminded me why. I cry wolf, I'm always right. I should have let them get eaten. I didn't even save them personally and I regret it anyway. This and the stuff the Engineers had to say make me like Cerberus.

But you can only start spending resources on upgrades once you have a professional in your lab. Someone like Professor Solus.

Is he an expert on... things outside Shepherd's normal experience? Does he tell stories? phoray - What difficulty level are you playing on? Recruiting the Professor is mandatory so you'll eventually get around to here soon. After you get him, the lab opens up, as well as the terminal where you can research (i.e. apply) all those upgrades you've been collecting on the other missions. Whether or not you'll want or need them depends on what difficulty you're playing on and how good you can do the combbat without them. On a lower difficulty, a good player can readily get through the game without researching any of those upgrades. You'll probably still want to do the ship's upgrades though. The Professor, Mordin Solus, is a really smart and really cool guy...You won't get very far into the game without him. Miranda told you exactly why you need him when you first came aboard the ship. I'm confused though, did you not go recruit him after you spoke with Aria?

I'm confused though, did you not go recruit him after you spoke with Aria? Casual. My teammates are doing almost all the work while I figure out which gun is best. Sniper or run at them shooting <- my two strategies thus far. So, I wandered around after talking to Aria and honestly forgot what I'd gone there for after the Quarian thing. Then I left. Then I wandered various solar systems scanning things before I figured out that was silly. Then I did Zaeed's loyalty mission, loosed a Krogan, and now I've come back to Afterlife and signed up with the mercs to find Archangel. That being lost and wandering around not quite knowing what to do was what I meant by "I feel like I'm in the Hinterlands all over again." But I think you said you hadn't played Dragon Age anything, so that reference would be lost on non DA fans.

So, I was looking at Miranda and the woman NPCs and I think I didn't make my Shepherd have enough fat on her face so now she looks a bit like an underfed model. The forehead seems a bit big with this hairstyle but I wanted the bun to be high and visible. The lack of how strong I could make the make up was also a sad loss- I would generally not have such strong makeup at all. I'm playing my third attempt. I was going for a Captain Janeway-esque with green eyes. I recruit everyone and say yes to everything on a first play through. If initial impressions are correct, then I would skip Mr. Thug on a 2nd PT. I just don't understand why Aria talked to Shepherd at all. She controls everything, but ignores the criminals around her killing each other = contradictory. She also looks pretty easy to kill, security wise. I've been picking a LOT of middle right options. And been treating the left side of the wheel as information gathering, although it seems to spur conversation forward sometimes too. I'm getting a sense that Shepherd is NOT very... role playing-ing. This reminds me of playing Geralt. This person I'm playing is a fully formed person with memories I don't remember, Training in Army Stuff I have no personal experience in, and opinions I can only half of the time share. I ended up enjoying TW3 not for playing Geralt, but for loving the characters and story around him, because I couldn't shape him as a person pretty much at all. But it's early yet. PErhaps I will feel more in line with Shepherd later. Give Shepard a chance. I was going to say much the same thing as AnDromedary . Shepard is a bit like Hawke: established in a way, but still with room for roleplaying...much more so than Geralt. You'll see, I think, as you distance yourself from ME1 and the implied history there that you didn't get to see. The alien that shot the Bartender for me is aaaaaallll right. Is Kelly my Newspaper of the Normandy? Then I went down and played cards with the engineers. Thought we'd actually play cards and felt mixed when I just auto won instead. Oh my gosh, Joker makes me laugh so much! And every time I ask Jacob if we can talk about him he's like NO. Ugh Joker is awesome, and he just keeps getting better. And you're starting to get annoyed with Jacob and his noncommittal-ness are you? Good. Goooooood. Perhaps you will go for a different romance option, then? Maybe a certain alien who resembles a talking velociraptor? Palm trees. We're in Florida. Is that a monkey with hands? @_@ Whoa. You can kill them. It kinda feels more like stealing when I'm hacking electronics. "Your pocket cash isn't enough, gonna have to go empty your bank account." You killed one of those?? You monster! They're so ugly-cute, with their little hopping walk and their freaky stretched out faces. No...not like the Hinterlands. I can't really elaborate without spoilers, though. You'll see Rana the Asari got to skip out. Don't know her *shrug* Okeer died to save his Legacy. Sweet. Miranda is Morrigan. Jacob is Leliana. Released the Krogan Joker had things to say about that that made me laugh. I think I'll skip talking o everyone else a d just talk to him. ...just in case you're serious, no. NO. Don't do that. And since you've released Grunt, have you talked to him? Did you even go after Mr. Calibrations yet?? But you can only start spending resources on upgrades once you have a professional in your lab. Someone like Professor Solus. Some like professor Solas? I don't have Calibrations Guy or the Professor yet. I was just making a small joke about Solus being close to Solas in spelling and both being smart. Yes, I got the joke. I asked about Mr. Calibrations as an unrelated question. He's one of the first dossiers you get, so I was just surprised you didn't have him yet, that's all. I didn't care for Zaeed either. Apparently, he has no cinematic talks because he is a DLC squad mate and not a main game one. You're doing better than me, though. I failed his loyalty mission (on purpose) because I didn't like what he was wanting to do. If you get sick of the repetitive lines, wait until you've done a few missions to talk to people again. Just like DA, really. Interestingly, one of my complaints about the Inquisitor is that you don't get to roleplay that they are terrible leaders or don't want anything to do with this crap. Sure, they can express concern over their fitness for the role and deny being sent by Andraste, but beyond that, I find the Inquisitor takes to the leadership role a bit too easily. At least Shepard has years of experience to explain this away. Maybe it'll help you roleplay if you stop sticking with all the neutral options? Or maybe not...just an idea. I felt kind of the same way as you at first, though. It's hard to get into the role of Shepard when you're supposed to have a game's worth of history behind you and you don't. Give it time Shepard grew on me. She's second only to Hawke in my heart now. As far as PCs, anyway.

I think that Archangel might be Garrus. A mysterious Turian taking down Criminals? Huh? Huh?! I'm going to be right *smug* Haha! I was right. By the way. I thought I'd be sabotaging the plane or... Whacking the mechanic over the head. Instead, I electrocuted him to death. Some people complain when the dialogue doesn't match up with the choice represented but man- I didn't know cold blooded murder was an acceptable mystery choice. @_@ Garrus has a nice voice but man... He still looks like a cockroach. A dried out one with that beige color. I remember him being black.

There we were, Jacob and Shepherd, finally having a good ol' flirt went all of a sudden... "That's enough for now, Shepherd. I mean, Commander." The end.
D: some cold water on that simmer we were starting something fierce.

Aria and the patriarch are an interesting pair. I've made my team Garrus and Jacob to allow them more chances to shine. I like seeing them behind my Shepherd, like guardsmen. maybe I'll go ahead and imagine some rivalry for her affections while I'm at it. It's too bad the companions don't seem to speak up during cutscenes. Going after the Professor next.
