The Slayer used to be my Crutch, but at the time I ran him with the phaeston. And i never used his hand cannon (even tho i've seen other folks obliterate enemies with it). I was so happy when i finally aquired him (i loved his ballerina Biotic Slash and spammed the s**t out of it) but I found out early on that animation got me killed alot. I was real good with hitting targets and teleporting and shooting, but his playstyle became a bit too busy for me. The Phoenix Vanguard (w) Lancer will always be my go-to...  |

I'm disappointed because this thread wasn't about CrutchCrickets personal history and dark secrets.
I use better players than me as a crutch. Also I locked Reegar just the other day, I might switch to that.

Agreed. It can be a platform to showcase great aim (javsteppin'), but cloak dumps aggro. I remember being against the cloak nerf, but now realize the power is still unbalanced. |

Being a scrubby player this is so true for me. Empty clip or shoot snipe or fire power in the face of an enemy for massive damage, step behind wall and cloak, watch as the enemy turns around. |

Human Engineer to begin with, because you're never alone with a Drone. Then the Justicar and TSent around the same time, and my final actual crutch was without doubt someone no one else has mentioned - the Batarian Soldier. Once I had a BatSol and I could do anything and go anywhere with any weapon (bar the Eviscerator, just in case TMB ever sees this) and give zero shits about what I might find. I learned how to play the game with the BatSol, with occasional sync-kills being his (or my) only weakness. And then they gave us Grenade Gear  I now love the Krentinel more than any other character, but I don't think of him as a crutch as I play him as a pretty high risk melee-happy headcase, only to be let off the leash on special occasions. Or when I feel like it. Other than him, I don't think I've played the other cheesy kits much at all. TGI/Harrier is just too boring, I dislike the Acolyte intensely and only use it on my beloved Justicar. I've never put a Reegar on a Krogan, and the one time I used it on an AIU made me feel slightly nauseous to the point that I needed immediate Claymore therapy. I really do genuinely hate the thing with a passion, and am gutted that it's making the journey to Andromeda. Sorry OWA  |

First, it was the Paladin w/Carnifex. That was bronze/silver, because headshots were super satisfying. Then it was the SI Saber.  Then it was the Wraith cuz I couldn't reload cancel. Now it is Venom and Geth Scanner. I must get away from them. |

first crutch character for me was aiu with claymore
second clutch character was n7 destroyer with striker doing the missile glitch, did that for three or four thousand games
then discovered the endgame. geth infiltrator with talon.

Asari evasive maneuvering. I pretty much only enjoy characters with mobility (Fat Turians are the exception), but my ability to dodge rockets, etc takes a hit in any post-Asari match.

Now that I've gotten better I play Incendiary Reegar AIU exclusively.
