Exploration aircraft/shuttle fitted with sensor to detect lifeforms, power signatures, metal/resource deposits for mining and for detecting buried structures. Add light armour and plasma canons to clear out the LZ. BF1 already has the aircraft code so flight mechanics and craft re-skinning for a ME look is trivial (I would use a modified shuttle design for this purpose as opposed to a "regular" one.). Advantages are obvious and as a DLC prop, it will add new game mechanics.
Custom painting limited to areas such as the front, front left , front right and front bottom. Paint style like the head of a Thresher Maw or any large predator or abstract colour scheme is permitted. Other ideas welcomed.
Today, the studio has no excuse for avoiding a flying shuttle where we can pilot it.
The invisible walls and draw distances might be a problem for piloting a shuttle. We haven't seen enough gameplay to know how open each world really is. I like the idea though! |

Yeah I still don't understand how going through the entire game with no guns on the Nomad will work. Are the enemies just not going to have vehicles or vehicles with weapons on them? I still have a feeling we may get weapons for the nomad even if its dlc down the road. Poor planning to take a rover into an unknown galaxy without some defense/protection. |

Why piloting a mech if you can remote control a real mech? Give me a YMIR mech and we could enter any dangerous atmospheres. Toxic? Cold? Hot? Acid? With a remote controled mech no Problem! If you make a mistake you Need a new mech, not a reincarnation like Shepard!

A shuttle for getting around planet side in lieu of the Nomad. A shuttle outfitted with an arsenal of weapons - think the future equivalent of a C-130 gunship. So much this.
From a practical perspective, when designing an exploration mission: Flight > Wheels Guns > No Guns

The only vehicles I liked in the videogames so far were simple speeders/mounts. I won't mind having or not having them. I really did not like Mako and whatever the flying Mako thinggie was called in the second game. I think I will have more than enough trouble with Nomad to want anything else. The name is cool though.

Yeah....that would be it ^^^ this Tempest I put heavy Multicore Shields, cruiser class Silaris Armor, and a Thanix Cannon Nomad I'd put a cannon like from MAKO on it, except id actually give it elevation etc. and let you control the boost/jump directions in flight so you can use the jump to turn and move quickly. Tempest is just used in cutscenes it doesnt really need a gun but damn that nomad. |

Game design is such that combat is restricted to certain "designated areas" and not while you are in the Nomad.

Anytime I start to see a trailer or watch/read a review and Halo is mentioned I close the page. Fair enough. I've actually never owned an xbox, and I actually haven't played anything after Halo 3. They were just such big games that came out during college and high school that I ended up playing them on my friends' consoles. I actually had to borrow my roommate's xbox 360 when Mass Effect 1 came out. It got me back into gaming at least with the playstation route since. Looking to build a PC eventually, but enjoying the ps4 pro now (and exclusives). |

it should be some low flying nimble and quiet vehicle. Could be just a 4 seater ... and armed.
