Aiming?!? Who needs to aim in ME:A? Haven't you seen the gameplay trailers? Aiming is not required, this is not COD, I will use the controller cause the keyboard sucks big time at driving vehicles and at walking-running around with your character. thats true, there will not be any weapons in andromeda. no shooting, no snipers. youre right. the keyboard and mouse are very bad, controllers are amazing, they really improve the gaming experience. really hate keyboards and mouses What is also true is that andromeda is not a competitive PvP FPS where the quickness of aiming decides whether you live or die in the game. I asked if you've seen the trailers, you probably haven't. In 90% of the gunplay shown in the trailers, the firing was made from the hip, precision aiming was not used. Now consider also that guns will share your attacks with your biotic or tech powers that don't require precision aiming and with the new melee weapons they introducing which don't require aiming either. Add to all of the above the comfort a controller brings to other areas of the game like driving the nomad and moving your character around in 3rd person view and then the use of a controller makes more sense.

I play on PC with a Steelseries Stratus XL. Its pretty hit or miss, honestly. I was trying to sprint in BF1 (which is done with L3) and not only is the L3 hard to hold down with this controller, but with BF1 at least, I have to sprint squarely ahead - any deviation from center and sprint gets interrupted. Really hoping for better luck with MEA. Its a great controller hardware wise and feels great in hands, but the software sucks something fierce. It took me about 10 hours of playing DA:I for me to get a handle on how to prevent misscliks for the triggers that are really really touchy and I still mess up sometimes. Might have to get a different controller. But I have tasted the controller for PC and I am not going back to M&K. You could give the ps4 controller a shot via bluetooth or usb since it's PC compatible. I freaking love mine and their pretty inexpensive I'm looking at them as I write this. Have to ask about the D-pad though. The Stratus XL has an excellent D-Pad. I tried playing with both PS3 and my stratus and when it comes to dpad, ergonomics, tactile feel and generally all the hardware for this thing it is absolutely excellent. Its just a bit buggy on the software end of things, which is unfortunate because it really does feel very nice. And its solid too, doesn't feel too light like a PS3 controller.

If you haven't purchased yet....The Dpad feels great and the placement feels good because it's symmetrical like the ps3 controller, the ps4 controller is wider and larger to fit in your hand better. The L2 and R2 triggers and the L1 and R1 buttons are a huge upgrade being smooth and accurate. The trigger pushes back slightly for more control on how far to push it. Like in some games where the R2 button is to sprint, I can easily have my character lightly jog due easily by only pushing the trigger part of the way down. Also great for for any driving mechanic and shooting mechanic. They also made all the buttons more sensitive this time. The analog sticks are a huge upgrade on feel and control. You want to make sure you buy a new controller as the original ones had a problem with the rubber wearing off. That's fixed now. (Xbox one controller's analogs are slightly better as the off set analog sticks perform better for 1st person shooters. Their also more concave so your thumbs fit into giving you slightly more control. The placement of the dpad isn't that great imo though.) www.polygon.com/2013/11/20/5123054/xbox-one-controller-vs-the-ps4-controller-who-wins
