...seriously...where would this person get a hold of genetically modified war rats? and why wouldn't they be reported to animal welfare or the authorities? Your scenario has some pretty big holes, RT. Not as many holes as poor Lavochkin’s body after the rats broke free and began their reign of terror... Well...Shit! Are you saying the world will be overrun by mutant, genetically engineered war rats just because Lavo couldn't keep it in his pants!!?? Way to frickin' go Lavo! You've doomed us all because of your libido. But seriously RT... I would've thought it was going to be YOUR libido that caused the destruction of mankind...

It certainly is, especially when the lights go off and there are hundreds of pairs of dark red eyes aiming in your direction. Oh yeah I forgot to mention, these are genetically modified war rats bred for a single purporse, to destroy the world of men. Not that I think that will put Lavochin off mind you. ...seriously...where would this person get a hold of genetically modified war rats? and why wouldn't they be reported to animal welfare or the authorities? Your scenario has some pretty big holes, RT. Chernobyl.

Kind of on topic - is there a decently high percentage of guys who don't want kids at all, or is that just a myth and a stereotype? Asking because, as a lady in my thirties who has never wanted kids, I'm starting to worry guys will avoid me because they assume I must want to start a family rather than just a relationship. Speaking only for myself I'm in my mid 40's and while I wouldn't mind kids the reality is that the chances of that ever happening is pretty remote at this point and I'm okay with that. I'd be happy with nice lady to share my life with. Not like that's going to happen anytime soon but still. Dreams are free, right?

Yeah most of the world call that cartoon, not animated series or animation.

Dreams are free, right? No, dreams cost time that will be lost forever and a not insignificant amount of nutrients your brain needs to manufacture and process them. Dreams can also lead to a heightened emotional state that will consume even more energy which in turn leads to exhaustion that makes your body need more sleep -time- to recover from. It will cost ya.

Would you respect your partner less if they were less ambitious than you are? You're a career focused, wanting to make it to the top. Your partner only wants a job that will pay the bills and has no interest in moving in their career if they have decent and modest lifestyle? Would you look down on them for this?

I would be the latter in this scenario, but I feel like it's 50/50 between my character and my personal experiences. I've ended up becoming so used to my family scraping by that even stuff like waking up to the power being off doesn't even phase me, so it's tricky enough for me to imagine living a stable life, let alone living a successful one. To me, what would matter more would be the reasoning behind their lack of ambition, but even then it probably wouldn't bother me much unless it had a noticable impact on day-to-day life.

Honestly, I wouldn't be with someone who was "career-focused" or a ladder climber. If they're skilled and content at what they do, I really don't care. I have less respect for someone who puts the job before their relationships and family and I'm used to a modest lifestyle, so I no, I wouldn't lose respect for them.

Your partner only wants a job that will pay the bills and has no interest in moving in their career if they have decent and modest lifestyle? Would you look down on them for this? Going after careers is very cancerous for most relationships and even lives in general - thanks to decades of brown nosing, scheming and working the everliving shit out of you every single week you are finally promoted and you can count yourself to the big-wigs - hooray! But thats also the point you realize you are 48, a deformed sickly blob, the best time of your life is long behind you, your life outside the office is a barren desert and you haven't done anything with your big paychecks other than buying useless expensive trinkets and baubles. You have become your job. Way to go. A customer of mine was working the everliving crap out of her because she wanted a career and a big house - she had a daughter she could barely care about due time constraints from working overtime. She saved all the money on her future property. Then at 37 she was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. She died three weeks after the diagnosis. Her final words were ''And that was all?'' Gives me chills every time. Have a normal job that pays well enough so you can afford a normal lifestyle and have free time and weekends so can actually enjoy life. That is what I respect. Killing yourself over a career and sacrificing all you got is not worth my respect, neither is being a broke hobo who does not give a shit about anything. The middle ground is where its at, in nearly all things.

Yeah I don’t care, as long as they are happy doing what they love they can make as much or little money as they want. When I dropped out of uni and took up landscape gardening instead I was happier than I’d ever been. If people want to make work their life that’s one thing, but I certainly won’t look down on someone who chooses to settle down in a fairly mundane job and enjoy it for what it is. I’d be a massive hypocrite for a start. There’s so much more to life like Beetle said.

I guess that would depend on the rest of them. If they were simply interested in earning enough to live the kind of life they wanted, but worked to continuously develop and improve themselves in other ways, I'd be fine with it. If they were simply looking to stagnate, and not improve/change/grow at all, that's when I'd look down on them.

If their will to consume outweighs their desire/ability to produce, I typically have very little respect for them. (F### golddiggers and idiots with no money management sense!) If they know how to live within their means, they are fine. Also, while some may grieve at the over-prioritization of work, I would like to remind them that I've never met a woman who cries on the way to the bank or the store. People are quick to jump on the rewards of hard work and become acclimated to them.

Like many people above me, I'm the 'no ambition' partner in this relationship... I don't want to scrape, and I don't want to have debts - I just want my job to keep me feeling secure and supplied with money and TIME for leisure. And once I leave my workplace I don't want to have to worry about anything job related until I'm back at work the next day. I have nothing against people who are 'married to their job', and if they like it, more power to them. But working almost day and night just to make big money... for me, what's the point? I'd need a month of sailing that big yacht for every month I spent earning it, at least, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it. And no stressing about what's going on with my investments during that time either.

If their work is doing something they enjoy or something they feel is important and worthwhile, but it takes up their time...I can live with that. But if the only purpose of their career is to collect wealth so they can buy all the toys... it really seems pointless, IMO. Don't get me wrong, it's ok to have nice things, but to make it your goal to only focus on accumulating them...nah. There are more important things in life than a mountain of wealth and toys you never get to use because you're tied to your job.

How old would you allow your kid(s) to play vidya and what would you allow them to play? I've been a gamer since before I started Kindergarten (yes, really), so I've basically grown up gaming. I would like to get them into games pretty young, first focusing on Nintendo games and then seeing what they may want later on as they get older. Though, I will try to steer them away from COD simply due to how the community can be. Of course, I would try to get them interested in DA and ME.

Nintendo does have a lot of good games geared towards younger players, doesn't it? My kids are too old for me to influence whether or not they can have video games, but when they were kids, probably when they were around 7-8 years old, is when they started playing them. Video games back then were things like Zelda, Fester's Quest, Star Tropics, Mario 3, etc. Now my granddaughter, she'll be 12 next month, plays games like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Minecraft, and Pokemon. My daughter just picked up Rime, Fe and Yooka and Laylee for the Nintendo too. Puzzle games are really good for kids, they teach them thinking and problem-solving skills. Games like GTA and COD...those are things she can get into when she has a way to pay for them...if she's interested in them later on. I wouldn't want young kids to be on multi-player sites, anyway.

My little Niece is 4 and she loves Smash Bros. Ultimate. She played that with me for nearly 3 hours the other day which is shocking as she usually gets bored after about 10 minutes on things like Mario Kart and Minecraft. I tried her with Starlink on Friday as she likes Starfox but it was a bit too complicated for her at the moment. The only other games she’ll play for more than half an hour are Rayman Legends and Pokemon Let’s go but I wouldn’t exactly call it playing, she just likes to wander back and forth
