Kind of funny you bring up the playersexual thing, since we've already had a potential unrequited love, Aveline, from the game that brought us the all-bisexual approach in the first place. Did you feel like that fixed the problem with playersexuality feeling fake?

Did you feel like that fixed the problem with playersexuality feeling fake? I didn't much care for the playersexual nature of DAII. Aveline, though, was actually the one I wanted to romance the most, personally. I still think that refers to my original comment though. Aveline being an unrequited love doesn't feel like you went through a story arc. It just feels like you wasted your time. It's a "fail state" rather than an actual arc, and that's what really puts people off. Alternatively, I love flirting with Dorian, even though I've never romanced him. It feels like a part of his character. Playfully flirtatious. It feels like you're becoming friends because you're comfortable enough to tease one another. If Bioware could think of a way to do that in reverse, I think they'd basically have what I'm looking for. Something that feels like it progresses your relationship but doesn't end with you being a couple. The only problem with the Dorian example is that I'M the one who isn't responding to the advances.

Nah... get enough of that in real life. Don't need my pixelated waifus turning me down too! More than one waifu will ruin your laifu. Good thing I only choose one per playthrough then! XD

I'd be fine if they only have one like this that is separate from all the other options. For example, it would suck if they counted a character like this amount the very few gay options that are gonna be in the game. If they already have a lot for everyone, then I'll be more than fine about a character like this, where you can have a "romance" where you pine for them and they don't return your feelings no matter what.

Nah, if it happens it will be male LI for Rydette. Bioware reaaaally likes their angsty male LIs (except for maybe like Garrus they all had some angst in their past)

I will a-wait my lesbian version of Solas. Though really, imo, I think there's a difference between "wow this person betrayed you but they still love you" and...well, what happened with Jacob in ME3. And the whole "You love me and I'll never love you thing" idea of a romance. With the former, the angst is not something that is related to the relationship. With the latter, the angst is relationship-specific.

I actually like angst and drama, and I wish there was a bisexual Solas romance... He was one of the best male characters ever written.

Some angst and drama are fine, but not in every goddamn LI (and I would tell you something about the second part of your post, but I'm in the middle of some calibrations )

I just want the option to have a positive resolution, is all. Even if I have to jump through hoops to make it happen in-game. It bugs me when there's no way out of a really bad ending.

Maybe there will be a happy end for them in the next game, even if the inquisitor won't be our playable protagonist again.

Yeah, I like angst and drama, though I only really like it if it's story-related. I wish there could be more gay romances that have angst that isn't about the character's past relationships or the character not wanting to get into a committed relationship. Like, you know, some story-related angst like with Anders, Liara, and Isabela (and their respective actions).

What if there's a specific character who you can't romance because, no matter what, they have a crush on your twin?

Ugh. No. Especially since it would likely be a male LI that pulls this crap if one does. Bioware loves the ill-fated romance trope with male characters especially. We've already been cheated on, dumped, betrayed, relegated to mistress status, lied to, been forced to watch while he sleeps with another woman because we asked him to, and had our lovers die on us. A big no thank you to being used for sex too. True! And when you think about it, it all happened to female protagonist. It's kinda sick and so not fair.

Seems like the kind of thing that's only interesting when it's happening to other people. Acting purely as the observer. I can't really get behind the idea of walking into a situation hoping to be rejected.

It's possible they can't really act on any kind of crush because of the issue with the cryostasis chamber.

Actually, I would love the idea of my twin being paralyzed and depressed about it...at least for a certain time in the game. I know it sounds cruel, but Bioware lacked those dark themes in DAI, much to my regret. I've always got the impression I play a game about Disney because there was no real tragedy, drama or horror included. I hope, Mass Effect is a bit darker than that. Real life can be very cruel sometimes, but cruelty (if done well) also contributes to immersion and concernment.
