New alien races for and upcoming web-series?

As some of you know (and most of you don't) I said that I had plans for a Mass Effect web-series called Pathfinder, which would take place directly after Andromeda and follow the Pathfinder crew as they explore new planets and meet new alien species. The idea basically acknowledges that while Andromeda does promise us to have plenty of new stuff to explore, there's still plenty of potential for even newer, maybe more creative stuff.

In this thread, I'm basically asking you all if there's a new type of species you want to present and hopefully have in the series. I'm planning on eight episodes, so I probably have enough room for eight different species/planets.

Some ideas I have (but not finalized yet are)

- An aquatic species entirely underwater

- A species that have a 12 hour lifespan

- A demonic shadow like monster

- An erupting planet with acid lava

- Something relating to the Andromeda Strain

What brand new original alien species or planets have you guys thought up? Post them here and I may have them in the web series!
