Venom doesn't work well off host as every projectile weapon.The game doesn't register some of the shots.On a very bad host form 3 shots,only one works even with fully charged gun.Another reason is that some of the PUGs can't use it properly.

All words of wisdom. I'll just add that it is probably one of the most discouraging weapons to use if you don't know it's strengths. I would imagine a lot of players going "WTH is this - I can do more dmg with a Katana" and therefore giving up on it quickly.

It's one of the tougher weapons to use and isn't one of the "sexier" guns like the Claymore or Wraith or Javelin. It's also a bit lacking against Atlases, but that's my only real complaint. Lately, I've been having a hard time not using it because it's so good.

I noticed outside of Banshees/Scions, the gun isn't great on some bosses like Praetorians and Atlases. It seems weak against bosess with shields like Primes and Atlas. Since I generally use Warp ammo with the Fury, armor isn't a problem.

I'm also not sure what you mean by "sexier" because outside of the Javelin I'm not so keen on either the Wraith or Claymore. I may be doing something wrong, but neither weapon really felt all that great to me despite how much love they got. The Wraith in particular doesn't seem like it does a ton of damage based on how few rounds its got. Or I could once again be missing something about how they are used. 

Sexier would be those high damage weapons that you always see like the Black Widow, Wraith, Javelin, etc.

The Wraith is the 2nd best shotgun in the game after the Venom. It's incredibly light, it's accurate out to range (don't necessarily need the Smart Choke on it), and does a ton of damage. It's got a weird refire rate and reload time, but once you get the hang of it it's not an issue. It also sounds like your shooting tin cans. One of the most powerful kits I run is a 66644 vanilla Human Adept with the Wraith and either incendiary or warp ammo. It's great on every kit just like the Venom, but even lighter and will one shot most mooks and captains as far as I know.

The Claymore is my favorite weapon in the game and nothing, save the Venom, comes close. It's not the easiest to use, but when you figure it out it's a headshot machine. Timing and strafing and using the strafe to fine tune the shots are the keys to using it on console for consistant headshots. It really excels once you get the reload cancel down and when you do you can just steamroll groups of enemies. Drellgod, any infiltrator, most soldiers and/or sentinels, even some adapts (Human Adept, Shaman, Drell, vanilla AA, Batdept) are pretty damn good with a Claymore.

With that character/weapon combo,everything is acceptable,but yeah,no devices is a very good thing.

You would have done better with the High Lord, Doc, but OK...  That phantroll at 2:45 how did she get there? Cluster Nade?

Yep, Venom makes every kit even more awesome. Like the Fury? Just wait til you try it with Venom. Think the KroSent is pretty badass? Venom. BatSol? Venom. Justicar? Venom. It literally works for every kit in the game: however awesome it is, its even more awesome with Venom. Once you realize this, you have attained the ME3mp version of enlightenment.
