It's a shame we will miss out on his voice, but I still look forward to reading them all. But I agree with others; the voice was pretty iconic for the OT. I remember the first Javik scene on the Normandy. The guard who talks about regulations and encountering new species is the same VA. It was pretty much, "yeah, yeah, I know there's a Prothean over there. That can wait. Can you explain mass effect fields to me again, please?"

I was called Ryder before it was cool... ...I'd love to, you know, be social and things.

I tweeted Tom Taylorson and Fryda Wolff to see if they could push for a free dlc update with a voiced codex as if one of them is narrating it. No response. Tom said the voiced Codex was one his favorite things about Mass Effect in an interview. Maybe the two of them could make a separate video on youtube reading the codex in their Ryder voice. That would be awesome! If I voice acted Ryder or another character, I'd totally do things like that.

Listening to a few of their interviews is actually what got me excited about the dialogue and their characters. Both are incredibly talented, and it's always cool to see fans of the series end up the new heroes of the series. I'm sure the community can nudge them to do it after the game releases.

Just use the same voice and use the audio files from the previous games?

Hmm... Let me see...
Same voice actor was used in ME1-ME3 for the codex (?). I would surmise some codex audio files were probably reused between games. I can't imagine having the same person having to revoice all dialog for the codex for each game. Would need a gallon of water in my opinion...
Now ME:A the codex is not going to be voiced? I guess logistically it makes perfect sense. I would never ask someone to recite ALL the codex entries for the codex for the Milky Way Galaxy and the Andromeda Galaxy entries combined.

They could have been thinking it wouldn't fit the lore if it was the same person giving the voiced codexes. IDK that doesn't seem to make sense to me. Pretty sure fans would forgive them for using the same voice for the codexes. But what do I know? Maybe they wanted a completely fresh start? New galaxy, new... newness? Damn I wish this made sense to me. Someone explain it to me like I am a child.

Its an opinion, it can't be wrong. If its an assessment, then it must be judged according to its merits. If you are saying it would cost too much to cast a voice for the codex entries, that seems like a valid opinion at least. I am just curious why they can't borrow the voiced codexes from previous games if they are to be in MEA and then just have the same VA do the ones for andromeda... unless you think that the new additions to the codexes in this game are too many to cast a (read: the same) voice actor for the new entries?
