I hope this also means post end game content. Like secret bossess or new stories that only become available after beating the main story, because if not i wont bother since i usually do almost everything before beating the story. Otherwise the world would just feels empty and meaningless(TW3 gave me this feeling b4 the amazing DLC came out). I'm the same way. That's why I have to do all side quest and loyalty missions before finishing the game. After the game ends I have no motivation to go finish any quest I've missed.

Hopefully most of it is free roam as well with re-spawning enemies! Agreed. I really do hope this means that there is a really robust Storyline since it makes logical sense (to me) that they wouldn't want to give the story the short end of the stick considering a lot of people are not going to be motivated to keep playing the game after they finish the story. I view this as them just allowing us to tie up loose ends. At least, let's hope so.

Good to know, now I won't feel I need to do everything before endgame. My thoughts exactly.

While I'm pleased at the concept, I'm quite disappointed in Bioware just nonchalantly telling us this before release. It kills a lot of suspense, just like when DA:I's last mission told you you could play after it. Thanks Still, if it's done well, it would be great. It would mean a good epilogue with the chance to actually discuss the events of the endgame with your friends, and get to see a bit of the fallout. It would also be nice to discuss the future, whether it's yours, a character's, both of those together (romance), or just the galaxy in general. New quests that only make sense after the end would be cool, too. But if it's like DA:I where the game just feels dead after (can't talk to squadmates, can't even kiss Cullen ) then it'll be pretty useless for me because I'll just end up doing everything before the end anyway.

Yup there wont be anything for me do after i beat the main story since i like tying up loss ends b4 i finish the game. I play a ton of RPGS and the only one i think of atm with meaningful post end game content is Final Fantasy Ring of Fates(DS). Theres a whole new story with new bosses, characters and twist that you dont even have to do since the credits have already rolled. Its ties up alot of plot holes and cements the ending while also linking to new game+. I understand that modern RPGS are different though but a game world with solid start, middle and end with a great after story makes for an overall better experience. DAI did this Tresspasser and TW3 did it with Blood and Wine and they overall make the games alot better even though they are DLC. Anyway im just rambling on at this point but im hoping for the best.

Neat, would be cool if theres a planet in the dark recess of the Helios cluster that you couldnt get 2 till after the main story. Like a super/hard mode dungeon with a small side story with never b4 seen enemies. Although they would probably make that DLC haha. Anyway its good to know that post end game wont be entirely more of the same.

I've always liked how Dragon's Dogma did the post-game content, if you can even call it that. It basically became an entirely new game after the place where I assumed the game was going to end.

Hmm i forgot about that and im big Dogma fan haha. I guess i didnt count it as post game content since even after defeating the grigori and getting your heart back there still felt that something was missing. And the after story flowed so well with overall story. But yeah your right the game changed drastically, monsters became more rapant and got a ton stronger. A whole new dugeon and the true ending with one of the best plot twist ive seen in any RPG. It was great, it felt like the world changed after you bet the dragon whereas in other games everything is still static from beginning to end.

Great news. Normally in ME once I finished a game I'd jump right into NG+, but with this I might stick around after the main quest is over and explore, do some quests I missed out on, and of course craft a bunch of guns and other stuff and try them out on the wildlife.

Music to my ears. Now I DEFINITELY want there to be a combat simulator arena in the SP, whether it be part of a DLC or in the vanilla game. That way no matter what, there will always be at least one thing to do in your (otherwise 100%) save file.

Hmmm...
I think this is a double edged omni blade. I hope they don't fall too far into the trap of making the all side content meaninglessness besides picking up new gear and the abilities.
In ME2 the character quests mattered, although the result was perhaps a bit unsubtle by being all about the suicide mission. In fact all the choices in the trilogy basically come down to which characters live and die. The story and game play the same way if you save / sacrifice the council, pick Udina / Anderson, destroy / capture the collector base. All the choice is really for your own imagination to the fill in.
I think it's a pity that most of the extra computer resources and development time to for major games goes into flashier graphics and slicker features while the core role-playing structure is always the same, with a linear main quest arc and separate side quests.
I hope one day to see a role playing game where there's no real distinction between main quests and side quests. Instead there could more be a number of major events and all the other missions feed them, changing the timing, outcome and available options available to the player.
Going back to the ME2 suicide mission. Remember all the fun people had working out all the different permutations? Imagine if a whole game was designed like that. Sure that probably means locking off some things at various points in the game, but it would also make each play through different. Even players only interested in playing once could compare their stories to others.

*late to the party* I'm glad to hear this even though I try to finish everything before finishing the story. Once that is complete I really see no reason to continue playing unless DLC comes out as I've already finished the main objective as it were. I still clear out everything in DAI before finishing the main game.

This just means that they will sell you the REAL ending and LI resolutions as DLC later on. DA:I style. But hey, EA gotta EA.
