Sometimes you get thoughts when thinking about, or anticipating, a new game, either it's the wonder about something yet to come, something you know will be in it, or maybe it's something you are used to get from BioWare games that makes you all jittery and excited about it, so you just want to share it. I for one, have this great memory about how around the time DA:I launched everyone were posting images of their Inquisitors and I was amazed at not only how the graphics looked pretty impressive for a relatively early next-gen game with a fully customizable face-morph feature and I was impressed at how creative people were with their designs. The thing that I just realized is pretty exciting for Andromeda is that in those "Show your Ryder" topics we'll not just see each player's Male Ryder or Female Ryder, but we'll see their family's unique design. I can't wait to see how people are picking different choices that resulted in different scenes than the one I got and see how one player romanced PeeBee while I romanced another, reactions and discussions to the plot etc. Stuff like that just makes me pretty excited regardless of whether Andromeda will be the second coming of MET or not. What are your happy Andromeda thoughts given what we know so far or what you think will happen when it comes out?

Silly as it may sound, finding out we can color our armor and causal clothing. I got into BW after being a Simmer, so this is a dream for me!

I'm looking forward to making some pals to MP with. I never played ME3/DAI MP, nor have I been part of a gaming community for years (i miss western MMO's)
Getting on voip with some peeps and just shooting the breeze, and having some drinks while we smash robits sounds like some fun I've been missing for a while now.
I should start crawling the MP subforum soon tbh

Well what I was gonna say is kinda related to this. As much as we look back fondly on the Trilogy, it was a very flawed set of games. ME1 may be my 2nd favorite game of all time, but good fucking lord did it have problems. The combat is boring, the inventory can easily become a cluttered mess, there were plenty of bugs, and as great as the actual writing was in side missions, there was a lot of reused maps. Then with ME2, they dumbed down a lot of the rpg elements, there was limited gun options, and as fun as the story was, the writers basically wrote themselves into a corner by not advancing the Reaper storyline, nor laying down the foundation to how we could beat them in a conventional, or at least in a less contrived way.
ME3 needs no explanation.
So what would Mass Effect: Andromeda need to do, to be on par with the first trilogy, an already flawed set of games? Herein lies my thoughts on that.
It's going to be ME1 and ME2 combined. Meaning it's going to take the best elements from both those games, while trying to evolve the franchise in other departments. What we are probably going to see is the sense of discovery and exploration of ME1, combined with the more lighthearted personal storyline of ME2, and it's going to try to build upon those things that we loved so much from those two games. To me it's been very obvious that this is the direction the new team is taking the series.
People mention how much they loved discovering the Mass Effect universe and all it's races and culture for the first time. While there will be familiar elements in Andromeda, it's also going to be laying a new foundation for the series. So chances are we'll be able to recapture some of that sense of discovery we had from the first game, from meeting the new races of Andromeda, it's cultures, technology, and all the lore with it.
Also I'm just gonna say it, but I think it's very possible the game will not only be better than ME3, but may also be on par with ME2. But that's purely subjective and I personally see ME2 as my 2nd favorite in the trilogy.

I'm happy about the thought of getting into forum arguments with people about what was good and bad about the story.
I know; I'm weird. I just enjoy writing and debating things that are related to writing.

I'm just thoroughly looking forward to picking through all that zany dialogue messing with all those NPC's and killing a few of them. It'll be another immense time sink just like the old trilogy.
As a bonus, we might be able to wipe something out and argue about it until the end of time, though I hope that we can't actually do that so that the story doesn't leave ridiculous variables like the original trilogy did.

I'm really looking forward to the Skype chats with friends while we all play the story. Telling each other's expierences, fighting over which load outs are better, and debating the choices.
Ah good times.

Have the hardback Prima guide (please don't judge me, I enjoy looking through these guides while on the crapper), the Die-cast Nomad CE, and the Deluxe Edition on PS4 preordered. I really hope that I can get that Best Buy steelbook of Anromeda (saw a link to it here yesterday but I can't remember which thread. It is $10) at launch to house my eventual Xbone copy (I got the trilogy on both systems with no regrets, and that trilogy on Xbox One BC would be lonely without an Andromeda ) The first thing I'm going to do when I finally get it is play through the opening act, then just leisurely explore my ship, the space station who's name I can't remember [assuming you can], and any planets I find. Then I will jump into the meat of the game. Then I will become masochistic and look through the comment section of the IGN review to read through the hate comments (since people there hate everything). Then I will play some of the MP and hope to god I can get a weekend challenge banner before they prematurely stop those assuming they are a thing in ME:A (seriously, why did those end after just 1 year with ME3?? Why couldn't they just loop the 52 weekend challenges every year? I never got into ME3's MP until after those things ended...).

I have a lot of happy thoughts about the game right now. At least from a gameplay perspective things are really starting to look good. The last combat demo answered my questions about the 'favorites' system pretty much to my satisfaction. I suppose a little lingering questions over mineral scanning and crafting but pretty sure those things can be mitigated to a certain degree and I actually have some confidence as of now that BioWare can pull it off in a satisfactory manner, if not a perfect one.
As far as the story is concerned, loyalty missions being back...and maybe with the multiple objectives it could be really fun and something like in DA 2. And there seems to be several competing plot lines within...and without...the Andromeda Initiative which will give plenty of room for conflict, and given the information we have recieved in media a lot of these plot lines may happen in side quests and main quests which will support one another.

There's lots of things I'm happy about: familiar species, meeting new characters, the likelihood of delightful space adventures, a brand new ship, and big skies overhead.
And I have a soft, squishy place in my heart for sibling stories. So knowing that we're twins and we'll get to interact with our brother/sister is a major yay factor.
But honestly, I got insanely excited about that stupid vanguard charge. It's dumb, but I LOVED the vanguard playstyle in 3. It was like playing a super-hero, all punches and slamming into enemies. And it looks even better! So I'm quite tickled about that. I just hope it's as visceral and fun, but.... you know, probably even better since it's the future now.

Sometimes I like to just marvel at the fact that I'm going to be able to experience a new addition to my favorite series for the first time. Man, I feel like I've just arrived at a family reunion! To me, all these Mass Effect fans have always seemed like family. We all share a wide variety of likes and dislikes. And I love the fact we can all chat about it here! Mass Effect is one of the only series I've ever played, that just seems to make all the problems of life, go away.
I honestly cannot wait to return to my favorite gaming franchise. To see so many new, yet strangely familiar faces, buildings and even vehicles. And at the end of the day, I'll be able to hop onto BSN and discuss it with my awesome BSN family! Ah... just like old times!
