hi there Pathfinders
if PB has eyebrows because of a human ancestor, then another asari can have the krogan hump? or the turian legs?
interesting, don't you think?

You saw this right? Kay @bforbrownies@tibermoon Hi! I have a maybe dumb question. Are Peebee's "eyebrows" part of her marking (tattoo?) or are they hair? Cheers! Ian S. Frazier @tibermoon @bforbrownies They're actual hair, the odd result of a recessive human gene somewhere in her ancestry. She's the only asari in game /w them. He corrected this: Ian S. Frazier @tibermoon@kr__96 @gamedammeister @bforbrownies Apologies, I misspoke. Not necessarily a human gene. Just an unusual recessive gene from an ancestor.

It's probably not an important lore-thing. I imagine it's like with Liara, only, an artist thought actual eyebrows would look great on PeeBee and accentuate her "anti-Asari" style but then they went with it regardless of whether it made sense. Rule of cool, you know?

Is that 'recessive' gene 'recessive' according to the BS-Kojima interpretation?
Anyway. I'm slightly more interested as to whether she has hair actually I shouldn't finish this sentence I think.

Admit it, you thought of her armpit hair. What? ... Oh, yes, of course. I mean, I get a French vibe from her (was her human ancestor French, maybe?), so that's why. Yes. I didn't wish to sound rude. hahaha.

So can anyone explain why this eyebrow thing is such a big deal all of a sudden? I mean: Did I just miss the original or...?

Admittedly I didn't see that tweet when I posted here initially.
Although I also read the writer retracted the human part, so now it's just a "recessive gene". And yeah, asari with actual hair don't really make sense. But I guess we've given it a pass in other sci-fi, so it can get a pass here too.

If it was human genes as originally suggested then it's a tad problematic as Peebee was born before the Asari encountered humans. You know there are plenty of people who report being abducted by aliens, and even getting sexually exploited by them in the process. I mean, just connect the dots -- do you think that's beneath the noble Asari? Aha! That's what they want you to think! It's a cover-up! Just last night, in Sweden ... in Sweden ... 20 youths were abducted by Blue Space Babes, taken to a luxurious suite in a spaceship, and who knows what happened to them there and did you see it in the news? No you did not. Because they're afraid speaking out against the 'Blues' will make them racist.

As someone pointed out at the time, Asari have always had eyelashes, so the idea of their species having more facial hair at some time in the past isn't actually that out-there.

This whole regressive that gives her eyebrows like a human seems very weak. Would have preferred no eyebrows on Asari personally.

This is just a case of 'we need eyebrows to convey a full range of emotions, so let's just fudge a reason why Peebee has them'. I don't really have a problem with it because (a) Peebee's character will come across better and ( Liara had eyebrows. (No, I don't buy that Liara would use makeup to paint on eyebrows without actually having any eyebrows underneath. IMO that's way dumber than the whole recessive gene idea.)
