This thread has no real direction. It's purely to talk about the games, books, movies, fan art, and other mediums that you enjoy and would recommend to other fans excited about Mass Effect: Andromeda. With less than a month away from release day, what are some of the ways you are preparing for the game or rather fueling your hype/excitement?
If it's a game, what game will be you be/have you been playing to pass the time?
What Shows/movies are you watching or would recommend watching? I want to know more about old school or recent Sci Fi shows/movies that remind you of the Mass Effect series. Same goes for documentaries.
What Books would you recommend and why?
What types of fan Art would you recommend as well?
What would not recommend to play/watch/read before the release of Andromeda?

Watching the Expanse has got me in the sci-fi mood. I know there's books that inspired it, and have been thinking about grabbing the first, but afraid to spoil the show.
People who have already read the series seem to praise it though, so if you're not a fan of tv maybe look into Leviathans Wake

For me, I am currently watching Interstellar as I'm working/procrastinating on BSN. I recommend it if you've never seen it considering Andromeda is very much about traveling to the unknown and potentially leveraging gravity and black holes.
I actually have never played Dragon Age: Inquisition as it came out right after Destiny, and I only played Destiny for well over a year without trying another game (I have a pretty close/awesome destiny community who may start doing shows/podcasts/live streams when the sequel releases). Needless to say my backlog has been far from empty. I decided against playing Inquisition or much of Mass Effect this past month because I want all the mechanics in ME: Andromeda to feel fresh and new.
I have also recently re-watched Into the Universe by Stephen Hawking.

Well, it's the obvious answer but I strongly recommend the first three ME novels by Drew Karpyshyn. I've also got both of the ME comics libraries in hardcover and they are definitely worth picking up, IMO.
Otherwise, DAI is a decent game, provided that you don't go in expecting too much content in the open world sections. The main quests and the companion quests are mostly quite good.
I don't think you need to worry much about the mechanics in MEA feeling familiar. They look to be pretty different to those in ME3.

For myself, I've just been revisiting the old games again to pass the time, that and working on fan art that I must complete before this thing releases (mostly it'll be character/alien stuff but definitely gotta showcase the new vehicles)

The more I watch interstellar, the more I think that wormholes are going to be a big part of Andromeda. The scourge may even be caused by wormholes.

Games -again ones people won't care for: Advent Rising Singularity Homeworld Series Project Earth: Starmaggedon Binary Domain
Movies (Here will be the hate): Tron/Tron Legacy (1982 & 2010) Stargate: The Ark of Truth (2008) The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951) The Last Starfighter (1984) Flight of the Navigator (1986)

I haven't read the books the tv series is based on yet, but The Expanse.
If you're a fan of hard Sci Fi, you'll love it. It almost feels like it could be set in the Mass Effect universe as well, prior to the discovery of the Prothean ruins on Mars or the Charon relay.

I'm gonna add another recommendation for The Expanse, both the books and the show. Closest thing you'll find to Mass Effect that's not actually Mass Effect. Other books I'd recommend: The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, which feels like a mix of Firefly/Mass Effect. There's a sequel, but I haven't read it yet. Also Luna: New Moon and Children of Time, not that similar to Mass Effect but great sci-fi in their own right.

I should get back to the expanse too. I liked it a lot the last episode I watched. Still not through season 1 though.
