After rewatching/replaying this part of Uncharted 4, I realized how well it would fit and how similar it may be to the more open worldish parts of Mass Effect: Andromeda. Mechanics that seem similar between UC4 and ME:A: -Having a linear focused story with the freedom to explore and find multiple approaches to your objectives. -Having squad banter while driving, fighting, exploring -Finding collectibles while engaged in a mission rather than just driving around for the purpose of collecting -Overcoming hazards and obstacles -Finding certain areas that require a bit of puzzle solving -Coming across groups of enemies and outposts with the freedom to engage them in multiple ways -All without deviating from the story and main missions -Story cut scenes -Nolan North and Tom Taylorson Mechanics that fit well with this model that ME:A seems to have added or should add: -Story focused side quests to complete while in these semi-open world HUBs -Towns or Settlements to stop by to shop, grab quests, restock, minigames, etc -Resource gathering but again while engaged on missions -Planet Hazards -More wildlife -Ability to come back to these areas and have enemies respawn -Dungeons to find ie Remnant Vaults -Quick Animations to get in and out of the Nomad -More Outosts and random encounters (something like the Magitek drop ships in FFXV that force you to fight)

It may be merely a preferential thing, but I see more value in using The Witcher 3 as a template than Uncharted 4 or even Final Fantasy XV. Mass Effect Andromeda is far closer in similarities and structure to The Witcher 3, given it's also a choice-driven RPG experience, than it is to a linear 3rd person shooter like Uncharted 4 or the very oddly implemented open world JRPG that is Final Fantasy XV.
Fortunately, we are already well aware that BioWare has used The Witcher 3 as the primary inspiration for MEA for a number of systems.

I'd rather not see an overabundance of cutscenes, set pieces or puzzle elements. Not when I'm exploring.

I mostly care about what gives me things to fight. As long as enemies continue to spawn long after I'm done with an area storywise, I'm good to go. They can design it however beyond that.
