The Journal system was one of my pet peeves in ME3, and I didn't want to replicate it.  MEA's is closer to DAI's (though obviously our UI is different), so you can track a quest on the map/compass, and quests get updated as you make progress. |

ME3's 'journal' really looked like it was incomplete. As if they just implemented the template for it, but didn't write the rest. I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be there, but they just couldn't finish it in time.
