Hello.
In order to better roleplay Ryder, I thought that I should learn more and gain a better perspective about the Profiles in ME:A (formerly known as classes in the Trilogy).
One of the ways of doing that is to try and draw parallels between the Profiles and possible equivalents.
1) Adept:
2) Engineer: A military combat engineer. Based on the list of Tech powers, an Engineer in ME:A is someone who is knowledgeable in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics and Pyrotechnics.
3) Explorer:
4) Infiltrator: An army sniper / sharpshooter.
5) Sentinel: An army squad leader.
6) Soldier: Needs no description, Profile name is self-descriptive.
7) Vanguard:
I have not figured out the equivalents of Adept, Explorer and Vanguard. I'm hoping you all can help me out with that and give your own Profile equivalents.

Closest thing I can think of would be like the rogue from DA. Adept and Vanguard are both Biotic classes closest thing I can think of there is mage so basically crowd control specialist really. Not really sure what in reality terms you can really use for that. |

Not quite on topic but didn't want to start a new thread for one question.
Do the profiles tie to a favorite pre-set? Like, will the profile automatically change when you select a favorite, or do you have to swap out your profile manually?
I'd just watch the video again but I'm at work so no audio atm

Adept = Jedi. Vanguard = Jedi who shoots people. Explorer = That guy you know who's good at a lot of sports but he's not as good as people who train at a few sports or just one sport. I like the idea of the Explorer jack of all trades master of none, now the first thing that I think of when I think of the Explorer is a Bard from DnD because it to is jack of all trades and master of none or close to it

It's machines that do it for engineers; with biotics magical forces emerge from their bodies. (I know that it's ultimately justified by technobabble, but still.) When I first played ME1, I thought of biotics as an adaptation of Jedi force powers as in KoTOR. |

Here is how I would tend to define the two classes. Soldier- Pure combat squad leader/ action hero/ pure grade A American bad arse special forces. (Or British, or Israeli if that's your thing  ) Engineer: Combat engineer, builds things up, specializes in destroying enemy defenses. Adept: Space Jedi, sort of a specialist that specializes in crowd control, kind of a heavy gunner without the gun. Infiltrator: Sort of in the title, a lot of people view it as a Sniper but it could just as easily work as a Jason Bourne type situation. Or a DA rogue. Vanguard: Name is in the tin, someone who is a front line warrior in the trenches kind of guy. Sentinel: Another front line warrior with the ability to beef up defenses via Armor, etc. Explorer: Captain Kirk? |
