That was install size:
"Any idea what the install size will be?"
"On PC, 55 GB. On consoles, I'm not 100% sure, could be as low as 40 or as high as 60."
The download size will presumably be smaller.

Now that I think about it, I have no idea what the typical compression is these days.. (Don't need to know since we don't have caps.)

Like I've said before, I have: GTX 970 i7 4790k 8gb RAM
I can run DA:I on ultra, Witcher 3 on a mix of ultra/high (the only settings I turned down were vegetation, draw distance and hairworks. I turned hairworks off and had vegetation and draw distance on high) and Battlefield 1 on ultra. All of those were at 1080p 60 frames pretty much constantly.
Now Im assuming I'll be able to play at a mix of ultra and high at 1080p/60 frames. The only thing that confuses me is the huge RAM requirement. 16gb is a bit much.

We have the same specs except I have 16GB of RAM and play at 2560x1080. It will be interesting to see if double the RAM makes any difference, I'm going to say not much.

I'm back and I need your opinion, guys. I had decided to go with the MSI radeon rx 480 gaming 8g but it turned out to be just slightly too long for my computer case. So, I went back to the drawing board, so to speak, and found an excellent deal of the Asus Dual GeForce GTX 1070 OC 8 GB card. But I would just like to know whether it's a good choice or not? It already goes quite a bit over my budget, so the other 1070 models - which are more expensive - are a no go for me. Today is the last day of that offer, so I have to decide pretty quickly. What do you think?

What do you think? It's a bit of a strange swap you're doing, the geforce 1070 is one class higher than the radeon 480, and much more expensive (like 70% more?). Unless you're gonna be playing at 4k, I'd go for a geforce 1060 6 GB to replace the 480 that won't fit your case. It's also a small upgrade in performance compared to what you were gonna get. Look for EVGA or Zotac models, they've got short ones that are just as good as those mega big video cards with overbuilt cooling solutions that are actually designed for the beefier models. Personally I've decided to get a geforce 1060 3GB to replace my radeon 7870. Since I game at 1080p, the 3GB will be fine. If I were to build a fully new system I'd go 6GB to be a bit more future proof, but I only need that new card to last me another 2-3 years, so I'm going cheaper. hope it helps.

But while looking other options, including the 1060 6GB, the 1070 8G offer that turned up looked too good, especially since the price wasn't that far between them (395 euros with 30 euros cashback). So, I thought that I might actually go for the 1070 model, especially after it's said to be better with DX12, than 1060. So, in general, it's good card then?

It's probably the best card for 1440p there is. The only cards above it in terms of performance are the 1080, 1080ti and the Titan XP. If you play on 1080p it is almost overkill. So yes, it is a good card no doubt.

Yeah I couldn't tell you since I've not been considering it while doing my research because of the price point. I'm sure other people can chime in... If you got a good deal though, might be worth it. I'm sure you know, but if you go for that model make sure you meet power requirements (500W), and it will need an 8-pin PCI-E connector (or 2x6 pin with an adaptor, which probably comes with the card).

Curious....I wonder if ANDROMEDA will feature DX 12 or Vulcan....And also- not that there are many HDR-compatible monitors out there just yet, but it is definitely an up-and-coming technology...Will 'Andromeda' feature HDR as a possible toggle (if/when people buy an HDR monitor, they have that option to turn it on...and if not, then of course it stays 'off')
Just curious. Does anyone know if HDR was listed in the list of those fancy options awhile back?

Okay, the offer is so good that I'm going to take it. I also go above the power requirements with 750W, so that's not a problem, either. Thank you so much, guys, for helping.

Does anyone know if HDR was listed in the list of those fancy options awhile back? From geforce.com: In total there are 16 options that affect image quality, most of which have several detail levels. Additionally, Mass Effect: Andromeda players with a HDR television, or a G-SYNC HDR monitor, can enable the best implementation of HDR seen to date on PC with one flick of a switch in the Video menu. It's funny that we haven't heard anything about DX12, after the noise that DICE was making about wanting all Frostbite games to require it.

Funny thing is I upgraded my GTX 970 to GTX 1080 for ME:A... guess it wasn't that essential... Still love the new GPU tho' If you're going for 4K gaming, the 1080 will be very helpful.

Will be helpful for any Ultra setting resolution higher than 1080p. I have a 980Ti (about the same as the 1070) and I get below 60FPS in some games unless I turn stuff down in 1440p.

Early Access should be available in like three and a half days from now. Unfortunately it is not available in my region. But I will kindly ask for the kind-hearted people who play it to do some minor tests, like running it with MSI Afterburner to get some frames measured, perhaps.
I have a RX 470 and a very humble 1080p 60hz monitor. Probably I will not have any issue at least on High, but still, I am curious to know how it runs.
