I want to see how poorly my current pc does with the game during early access before I go spending money. Which probably means I'll finally order the stuff on the 17th.

That was install size: "Any idea what the install size will be?" "On PC, 55 GB. On consoles, I'm not 100% sure, could be as low as 40 or as high as 60." The download size will presumably be smaller. Care to explain? I'm not a PC person, so is the download size smaller because it lacks the installation folders or something? Why is it smaller? I'm honestly curious.

Pretty much anything you download has undergone some kind of file compression. Files are made smaller by getting rid of redundant/repeated information but including instructions on how to reconstruct them. (Disclaimer: My technical knowledge is lacking and this may not be the best explanation)

Like I've said before, I have: GTX 970 i7 4790k 8gb RAM I can run DA:I on ultra, Witcher 3 on a mix of ultra/high (the only settings I turned down were vegetation, draw distance and hairworks. I turned hairworks off and had vegetation and draw distance on high) and Battlefield 1 on ultra. All of those were at 1080p 60 frames pretty much constantly. Now Im assuming I'll be able to play at a mix of ultra and high at 1080p/60 frames. The only thing that confuses me is the huge RAM requirement. 16gb is a bit much. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸

In total there are 16 options that affect image quality, most of which have several detail levels. Additionally, Mass Effect: Andromeda players with a HDR television, or a G-SYNC HDR monitor, can enable the best implementation of HDR seen to date on PC with one flick of a switch in the Video menu.
It's funny that we haven't heard anything about DX12, after the noise that DICE was making about wanting all Frostbite games to require it.
Good evening, Talon. Thanks for your reply. That's nice to know that HDR will be implemented into ME:A (though HDR PC monitors are few and far between, and what few are out there are quite expensive...As for DX 12- I think you're right. I was thinking that same thing not long ago....DICE made noise about it, and it is supposedly a staple in Windows 10 (like DX 11 was for Windows 7- built right into it), so why have we yet to find anything that actually uses DX 12? And Vulcan- both my 980s and now my new 1080FTW2 have Vulcan, so why can't I use it yet? What's the point of having all these fancy APIs and other tech if software developers never bother to take advantage of them? I mean, it could be years before Vulcan or DX 12 is in use, and by then something newer and better will have come along....And so the vicious cycle repeats itself.
10:35 pm...I just read a post about Nvidia's up-coming (TRUE 4K; not this UHD stuff that they market as 4K) 144hz + G-Sync+HDR-10 monitors that are due out in Q2 2017....But some have said that for the 27 to 32" panels you're gonna be looking at at least 2 or 3 thousand (and the only two companies slated to bring them out at the start are ASUS and ACER)....Personally I would take the ACER Predator line-up...But I don't have three thousand to blow on a monitor.
But one can dream...

Well that's kinda scary. Those steep requirements don't even allow for 60 fps at 1080p, whaaat. Is that 30 minimum fps or average fps?!

One of the issues is lack of context of how the graphic settings look including compared to console. Hopefully ME:A will have much higher graphical increase options than we are used to these past many years from cross platform games.
I like when games can still push hardware a year or two later when it is not a lack of optimization issue.

I like when games can still push hardware a year or two later when it is not a lack of optimization issue. Per usual, console versions will be a mix of low-med-high depending on the individual settings. Shadows will be low, textures will probably be set to high for important things and medium for others; draw distance and anti-aliasing will take significant hits, etc. Console games are never a "drop everything to a specific PC equivalent setting."

Well I got Origin Access now, since I really wanted to test my PC. DA:I runs great on Ultra, I just turned off 2 settings I don't care about and the rest is just maxed out. I also have only a monitor for 1080p, so that also helps. I will just jump into the Multiplayer and use my 10 hours. Seems like Mass Effect will have more options to play with than DA:I. Am I correct?

Am I correct? I wonder what graphics card you have, but if it plays DA:I on Ultra with a few tweaks, it should be fine for ME:A probably with a few tweaks too. Also the Multiplayer seems to be a perfect place to test it, since there should be more stuff happening on screen there than in the Singleplayer for the most part. Anyway, after you get to play the game please report back with the results

That is good, I should get stable 60fps on my GTX 970 on ultra then, if not then with a mixture of high and ultra.

These system requirements look crazy. If my RX480 with an i7 6700 won't be enough for more then 30fps on 1080p thats piss poor.

No DX12 because NVidia is not that strong in it (async compute), and with the Vega around the corner it would be problematic especially when they are working with NVidia this time And this kinda suck, as DX12/Vulcan can use CPU multicores much better. At least I hope they will not put too much of GameWorks ''features'' in Andromeda

Good weasel words from Gamble. The fps will drop, I suspect, in intense pyrotechnics combat. I do hope for the best, though.

Eh, I wouldn't call them weasel words - and I was no fan of their market speak for ME3. Sounds more like an honest assessment... matches up with my experience with pc gaming.

I find it interesting that even BF1 recommended spec is DX11. My guess is that the XB1 + PS4 don't support it. However, DA:I supported Vulcan/Mantle.
I wonder if the early access PC guys can tell us if the ME:A graphics settings support Vulcan/Mantle?

Currently running a i7 3770K (not OC'd atm) 16G ram and a gigabyte 1080 Extreme gaming. Question is. Think I can run this at max settings ? I am using a 2560 x 1440 screen.
