Okay, so unknown to me there is an issue with approaching the SOS location on Kadara and that causes a freeze issue and has been logged with EA but still doesn't explain why my RAM is getting hammered. Literally after you hit resume on the main menu it jumps to 80% and then gradually creeps to 90%.
Does the RAM spike happen just with MEA or if you launch something else that is graphic intensive?

OK, so appears there were two issues causing this for me.
One was something in 1.06 that was fixed by the hotfix that followed (no idea what but was related to the Kadara SOS mission bug).
Secondly I got a new monitor and after I installed it I assumed that the game would automatically detect that. It was only when going through the settings for about the tenth time I checked the output settings which I discovered had the old monitors resolution settings.
I have however been tracking my RAM usage and the game seems to hammer RAM at times when I would assume (I am no PC expert) it would be low (saving the game/loading screens) and low when I thought it would be high (combat and driving the Nomad).
Anyway, I got through a whole day on and off yesterday which was good, so hopefully my issue is solved.

So i finally started playing the game again. Haven't beaten it since it first came out, and back then my performance was fine. 45 - 60 fps constantly with most settings on ultra, some small things like shadows dropped to medium.Well now my performance is terrible, or atleast on EoS. I am down around 25 fps at the worst, and yeah its unplayable. My system is by no means a god send, but its better than this. There has to an issue somewhere. So some guidance/help would be nice. Or maybe someone is experiencing the same thing?
My specs
Windows 10 AMD 8350 FX GTX 970 4GB 16 DDR3 Ram
Game is installed on a normal HDD and not an SSD. Loading times are fairly quick, and this shouldn't have anything to say on performance.

Yeah I have found performance to be really inconsistent but as stated in my earlier post with most settings at Medium I played 250 hrs with probably 4 crashes and usually getting 45 to 60FPS. I am using an Nvidia GTX 770 2GB with 8GB of RAM. Since 1.06 I have been watching my CPU and RAM and they are all over the shop whereas they were staying within 40 to 60% CPU and 40 to 80% Ram usage until the hotfix and my stupidity with a change of monitor and not adjusting the settings, I am seeing spikes in my CPU to 85% and RAM hitting 95%. My GPU temp is sometimes randomly 10 degrees hotter for no external reason as well when playing.

1.07 is a "hotfix." In the day, this meant to me that you download a file, execute it, and it replaced snippets of relevant code in a matter of seconds. Not sure what happened with 1.07. It seemed to download the entire game, inspected, then installed. This took a while, maybe about 10-15 minutes. The big difference between the two is that old style involved user choice. But like the 1.07 fix, it automatically updated from 1.06. I can't remember, but I think 1.05 and 1.06 I had a choice whether to update or not. Losing the "choice" bothers me a little, but it's a growing trend, writ large in Windows 10 and devolving to storefronts like Origin and Steam, and browsers. Of course, most still allow you to decide whether you want auto-update or not.
I can't find anything specific about 1.07 other than it fixed the SOS mission and various unnamed bugs. Also, they may have turned up the music or added some. I'm hearing background music that I don't think I heard in the first playthrough.

Seems to be a day to day thing playing MEA. Yesterday I had a couple of freezes with audio still continuing and the Nomad responding to the keyboard by making the right sounds, so I decided to sit and see if the game recovered. twice it did but only after more than a couple of minutes of freeze and twice I had to shut the game down via the Task Manager. And not surprisingly at the time my Ram and CPU were both on 95% for no reason.
I know when I was playing The Division it would have a problem where the game incorrectly thought the CPU was at 100% and CTD, don't know if there is something similar going on in MEA.
Just for a bit more fun Origin kept telling me yesterday I was running in Windows compatability mode which I wasn't!!!!

So do we know when the game is expected to be patched with all those promised fixes yet? Kind of waiting on playing the game until then. Most likely will start a new game too.

OK so a new bug for me today. anyone else encounter when you start the game that the load screens look darker than usual and that when you go in game that the sun glare brightness thing is a permanent feature making the game unplayable?
I thought maybe it was because I was on Elaaden but travelled and on the ship the contrast is the opposite everything is really dark.
Seriously getting sick of these types of problems.
Running a repair as I type so will see if that fixes it.

Well repair did nothing, changing settings does nothing.
My monitor is fine as it isn't happening with any other applications just MEA.
I have never had this before and the only thing different is that their was a Origin Update when I logged in today.

I've had the really bad brightness on Elaaden, as have others, but I haven't noticed other areas being darker. For me the bright white is worst near the edges of the map area. I think it was something with Patch 1.06 but I'm not sure. I agree it makes the map unplayable - you can't see anything and are being blinded to boot.

I noticed as soon as I started loading the game from the main menu. The menu screen where you hit resume looked darker and when started loading my last save was which was on Elaaden it came up with a picture of Elaaden and I could see the colours were too washed out and then the background of the other planets/moons popped out a couple of seconds later. I have seen some shots of the peripheral map area issues, this is I am literally standing outside the Paradise and turning 360 degrees anything further than about 100m away is pure white. When I held T to go to the Tempest the screen is so white you can only just make the Tempest out. Then on the Tempest everything is so dark you can hardly make out Ryders face. Uninstalled and am reinstalling to see if that makes a difference, loading an old save didn't help and changing settings didn't help.

OK, what is weird is that going back through my saves I noticed all the pictures next to the saves had a big white area like it was over exposed.
Anyway either some of my settings changed between when I shut down yesterday and started up again today (maybe the Origin Update?) but after doing an uninstall and reinstall the issue still existed.
In settings I told the game to reset to default and OMG was that horrible to view. So when I went back through all the graphics and video output settings it appears that the main one affecting it was that the game had changed to windowed borderless instead of full screen and that the screen calibration had changed significantly. When I set the game to auto detect it also changed the screen resolution to the proper setting which when I was going through it manually didn't seem to come up as an option but I may have just missed it.
I have no idea why the settings would change via an Origin update but that appears to be the only thing that could have done it.
Anyway I am playing again - yay.

Every 10 to 30 min I get this error: DirectX function "Dx11Renderer::map"" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ("The video card has been physically removed from the system, or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred."). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M", Driver 38205. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try installing the latest drivers. Also, make sure you have a supported graphics card with at least 512MB.
I installed the game again, I updated my graphicsdriver (tried older versions too), tried differend graphic settings but nothing helps. The EA Support hasn't awnsered yet.

Sorry I am not cluey enough to help but I hope someone can help you out soon, as I have been feeling the same pain of late with regards to tech issues in MEA.

I updated my graphicsdriver (tried older versions too) Was it a clean driver installation? The 'device removed' error is common in Frostbite 3 games if you install drivers on top of previously installed drivers. I use DDU to do a clean driver sweep before updating.

All settings maxed @ 1080p, ME:A never dips below 80fps, averages around ~120 fps, and maxes out around ~200 fps. The game is graphically stunning tbh. The vast delta between min & max framerate is most likely caused by how wildly varying different parts are in the game, either due to pure graphic intensity or poor optimization in certain areas. These results are with the rig in my sig. Full specs can be found in me bio. Conclusion: the game is either very graphically intensive or poorly optimized in some areas but plays well on top-of-the-line systems.

The Tempest, Havarl, and outposts on Eos all have significant framedrops. Oddly enough, on Kadara I get these really weird stutters and rubberbanding-like artifiacts. It's like network lag in the recent Battlefield games.
