Their are at times place where my character ( And/or squad members to. ) gets stuck in a place with out any apparent reason. Like here on Horizon for instance ... We hat just killed the collectors in that spot, and I pressed F to get out of hiding and BAM, I am on top of that wall together with Miranda!? The same thing has happened a few times before for no apparent reason, and it is as mentioned in the topic title becoming some what annoying. When this happens I can not get off no matter what, I have to reload from the latest save!?

Yup, there's a spot going down a ramp on the mission where you get Grunt too, I've been stuck there a few times. It's super irritating and does often require a reload, but sometimes jumping around like a loon will get you free too. Quick save quick save quick save.

One of the first times this happened to me was on Freedoms Progress. There is a Medical station next to a Bed or some other type of furniture, and walking close to it got me stuck between it and the ceiling. As for the quick saving ... yeah that is something I do a whole freaking lot in this game. When I start a new mission then at the beginning of that mission I make one normal save, and for the rest of the mission I use quick save. Found something ... quick save, about to hack/bypass something ... quick save, about to talk to some one ... well you get the picture.

The consoles didn't get that luxury until ME3. It might be worth a try to do a manual save after the walking on air thing happens. I'm not certain, but isn't it possible that the game will respawn you on the ground with a reload anyways; and then, at least, you wouldn't have to repeat the battle or other stuff from the point of your last quick save (but I wouldn't risk overwriting the quick save to test it).

Damn that is not good if there is no option for quick saves. As for the tip ... hmm hat not thought of that method, it is worth trying that out once when it happens again. Makes it a safe trial, since both the quick save and the first normal save are safe that way.

Yeah this is an old problem with a lot of speculation on the cause, but never a clear answer that I am aware of. Besides the "krogan bridge" section on Korlus, I used to get this a lot on MSV Estevanico.
I have not had luck with saving in the air. When I load a save made after stuck, I am back in the exact same spot.
That said what I have been able to do if I had no recent save was make the save in the air anyway, then use ME2 Gibbed to edit the player position in the "Raw" tab. There is an x y and z position. The numbers may as well be giberish, but playing around with them can seem to cause you to fall to the ground.

Well I did download the ME2 Gibbed but did not install it yet, but I guess I will and see what it can do if needed. ( One way or the other. ) Should the method that UpUpAwayRedux mentioned also not work for me then I could play around with the tip you mentioned, thank you.

After playing around for a bit with the X and Y position I got Shepard and her team members back on the floor instead of on top of one of those giant screens in Illium. So trying that with ME2 Gibbed can certainly help out if all else fails.
