Well, I played the demo but not interest enough to buy the game.
My plan is go back to play Jade Empire. be with Sky and hope MEA will have Gay/Bi male squad mate like Jade Empire.

Nice combat and lovely fantasy map.
But the questlines are so boring and sleepy.

I played KoA long ago. I recall enjoying the combat gameplay and the versatility; but the story was nearly non-existent. Despite the enjoyable gameplay, I was ready for the game to end long before it finally did. I never played it a second time.

I played it, and I got "hooked" for a little while, despite how hard it was for me to accept the limited options in the CC. I really detest the artistic direction in that game. It's like a WoW clone, in terms of aesthetic design, and I actually hate it way more than I should.
Eventually, though, I got into the game, and was doing quests one after the other.
After some more time, unfortunately, the game really started to drag. There just wasn't anything interesting going on. The game is packed with content, but it's really... bad. Again, I'll compare it to WoW. Many of the quests are super shallow in terms of actual writing, and the world is far bigger than it has any business being. Coupled with the fact that I could never get attached to my character due to the gross style, and I eventually just completely dropped it. Never regretted doing it. It got to be a chore, and the story never really "wowed" me.

I remember Kingdoms of Amalur for fun and fluid combat combined with a meh story and lots and lots of boring and redundant dialogue. Also that you couldn't romance Alyn Shir. But you could romance, sort of, Captain Rast Brattigan in the DLC "The Legend of Dead Kel", giving you the well deserved achievement "Manic Pixie Dream Elf". EDIT: You know what was great? You could kill elves in satisfying numbers! Nothing like hearing them go "For Gadfl...uurgh *sputter*" when they died.

Haven'tplayed it but heard it was fun. Another similarity to a different game would be the planets having their own story like in SWTOR. If so then I think it might be fun.

I played it. Although the Story obviously isn't that amazing. Throwing around Chakrams is ridiculously fun. It's one of my favorite combat systems. Fantasy RPGs need more Chakrams!
If ME:A combat system is as much fun, it's going to be great.

I loved KoA. ANd think it is seriously underappreciated.
Well, not the gameplay. The gameplay is appreciated and rightly so. Yes it's easy, and they could've made it harder, but all-round it's very solid and MEA seems to have taken away some very good bits of this.
Story wise, I liked it, but I do agree it's all over the place, and due to the sheer size of it, can get very confusing.
All in all. Definitely one of my favorite games I ever played. Even if solely due to the gameplay.

I played it on release, pre-Schilling controversy etc, was a solid ARPG with really fun/good combat.
Lore was a little 'fanciful' for my liking, could of done with a bit more grim-dark/adult themes.

Mass Effect 1 actually, which this game feels more of a sequel of anyway, its cover system, powers system and landing on planets with the mako make it all feel like they are building on what 1 did, rather than 2-3.
The "feel" and tone of it feel closer to 1, which was more optimistic than 2 and 3. Humans are new again (something 2-3 forgot a bit) we are exploring and experiencing this new amazing alien place, i like the sound it of, which is coming from someone who had thought they were done with the series at one point.

I remember the combat becoming too easy. I got to a point (bandit quest or something) where I was almost one-shotting things. I tried to find some difficulty mods but nothing worked.

That was my problem with the game. It became too easy so I would just run past enemies instead of wasting my time fighting them

Bland story/setting/characters aside, I enjoyed the combat back in the day, even if it did get too easy towards the end. So, Ian Frazier being on the project seems like a good sign to me.
Right now I'm playing Borderlands: the Pre-Sequel.

Game was awful!
Im fan of salvatore and schilling (red sox) and had high hopes for that game as he was a big mmo fan while playing for sox
Game was awful compared to dragon age/skyrim and after a few hours realized how bad it was
Im hoping the crossover is only for maybe some combat ideas as the lore/dialogue/graphics/character creation/immersion were awful

I only played KoA about a month ago but I didn't play it to 'prepare' for MEA. Gameplay was fun but about half way through, I got tired of fighting. Couldn't walk far without running into a group of enemies and it was annoying. I had flashbacks to Templars and Apostates in the Hinterlands. And oh my fetch quests. They kept going and going....Those were ignored completely after a bit. I made a beeline for the end after getting to the desert area. I just wanted to be done. The story was barely there and only became interesting to me at the end. Not sure I'll play it again.
