I read a while back there would be some overlap between progress in multiplayer and the singleplayer game. I recall there being urgent MP missions to defend your SP colonies which would help your research base and perhaps therefore supply chain in the SP campaign. Is there any more info on the extent of the overlap? Will the weapon roster unlocks be the same, for instance? If I unlock guns in MP will Ryder get access to them? That would be a cool thing in my view, but I'm not really looking to start a discussion on the merits of the idea, more if we have heard from devs about the overlaps. I know lots of people feel passionately they would like no MP, others are not so fussed about SP and plenty enjoy both. I don't mean to re-ignite passions Appreciate anyone who has more dev-sourced or review-sourced information about crossovers between the two forms.

There is some of it. You access MP or some kind of MP menu from the SP game on the Tempest actually and I think they said something about settlements on the planets or something.
They said it reflects your progress in the story but in a way so it doesn't exclude SP-only players from unlocking the full experience, so whatever it is, it's minor.

Didn't they say that there'd be some missions where you could send an AI squad to do (wartable style), go off and do yourself as Ryder, or choose to tackle in multiplayer for extra bonuses.
Could've sworn I read that somewhere.

I'm glad that this time around the MP won't provide the type of definite advantage over SP that it did in ME3. From what I remember, before Bioware released the ME3 Extended Cut, it was nearly impossible to get the best ending unless you played MP. You could do it but it would take a whole lot of grinding.

I think I read/heard somewhere that weapons you unlock through the RNG in MP are usable by Ryder in the SP, no need to resource gather and craft, which will probably be pretty useful if you play a lot of MP and unlock rare stuff.

It was absolutely impossible pre-EC without either MP or the Android app. From the confused way Bio devs reacted to complaints about this, my bet is that it was an accident.

I hope we can see the MP characters in the SP similar to DAI I sure hope not! I love all mp characters to be my own with names and backstories. Unlike DA, it's my only chance to play non-humans.i don't want second-hand characters.

Agreed, one of my biggest gripes with the MP characters in DAI was that they didn't appear outside of Skyhold or actually talk Would've been awesome to see them appear in some of the bigger sections of the game

Didn't they also say there was 2 types of MP. The original Horde mode you access from the title screen and then the Apex missions through the single player?

Hmmm....has there historically been overlaps with them? I think Bioware's pretty good on that regard. I mean, yes, there was slight overlap in ME3 with Galaxy at War....but it really didn't matter as you could get the best ending anyway without bothering to raise your galatic readiness past 50. Inquisition of course was really detached.
I think the only times they were "referenced" was with the multiplayer characters in ME3 Citadel DLC and the random show-ups in the Inquisition's castle.

I don't mean to re-ignite passions Appreciate anyone who has more dev-sourced or review-sourced information about crossovers between the two forms. YUP. Multiplayer is optionally tied to settlement building. The settlement/colony system reminds me of the Metal Gear Solid V's mother base mechanic. Summary from below: You can either send colonists/strike teams on real time missions to defend settlements and get rewards from that or engage in them actively in Multiplayer on "Active Strike Missions". Eurogamer stated this, "[T]here are "Deployed Strike Team" missions which take real-time to complete sound similar to Dragon Age: Inquisition's war table missions, where you send out resources to complete missions in real-time. These will allow you to gather resources and keep areas secure, which also sounds similar to a Keep defense system intended for Inquisition but then cut during production. Inquisition's creative director Mike Laidlaw previously told Eurogamer this was due to the problems of supporting last-gen consoles, something which Andromeda will not have to consider." This is also how Multiplayer fits into the game this time. You can opt to do "Active Strike Missions" instead and they will vary from horde mode, defusing bombs, assassinating a target, etc. Multiplayer gives the player the choice to actively engage in the missions where you play as one of the characters being sent on strike missions or using the real time feature and only play single player.
